Microsoft will release a Surface car. Apple will outdo them with an Air car!
...and then Samsung will outdo everyone, with a GALAXY car!!
Do you mean electric/smart car? Because Samsung already makes cars...

Tim spreading his Christian Agenda everywhere. How dare he try and poison the minds of the public with his call to make this made up holiday with no other purpose than to empty the pockets of hard working Americans

How did you infer an Apple Car from that quote??
Cars are expensive enough, why do we need an Apple tax in addition to all the other taxes associated with them?
I honestly do not see the point of this, unless it's solar-powered, self-driving, uses Siri for destination choice independent from language and accent (not sure about Apple Maps but the way my English version of Google Maps pronounces Dutch street names is HILARIOUS... and makes it near impossible to find the place) and, basically, beats thousands of companies who have been making cars for decades – at first attempt.
The thinnest car ever won't do this time. It's not a smartwatch market that's like three years old either. When iPhone came out, it was different from every smartphone on the planet. How exactly is iCar going to be different from every car on the planet? (Other than more expensive, of course.)
If I lived in the city (depending on the city), I would be right there with you. I lived/worked in San Francisco a while back, and I wouldn't want to drive there. I spent a lot of time working in NYC, and no way would I drive there. But in a city like Dallas, you need a car just to get to public transportation.I don't own cars anymore. Living in the city, cars have become impractical. I prefer to ride the public transportation, use lyft, car2go, etc. I hope they are not solving the old problems and instead focus on the new. If they built a car that was auto driving and could be used like lyft or car2go, that seems like it would be way more exciting.

It was a joke, based on the names of their devices. Microsoft makes Surface tablet PCs, Apple makes (for the time being anyway) the MacBook Air and iPad Air. Samsung makes a range of phones and tablets called Galaxy.
I intended to imply that Microsoft would make a car which travels on the surface, Apple would make a flying car, and Samsung would make a spaceship.
Reality played no part in my jest.
Would a smiley have helped comprehension? I'm never quite sure; I grew up reading books which got their point across without emoticons, yet were still able to make me laugh, cry, think, yearn. Perhaps my prose is less expressive than I believed?
I got it now. It's Friday. Long week.
Or you could, I don't know, sort of say what you meant. You're forgetting the fact that there will most likely be integration between the car, phone, possibly the watch, etc. This means that there will be X amount of people in the car division working on integration between the devices, Y amount of people in the phone division, Z amount in the watch, and whatever other divisions there are in the company - depending on how many devices Apple wants to integrate.
I'm not saying that there's a small amount of people working on the car. I'm saying that because of the inevitable cross links between the car and the Apple products, both sides will need to work with each other and share resources and time for this to all work.
If you're trying to push the car out by 2017 or 18, then obviously you'll need more people on both sides and more labor work. That'll mean less focus on whatever specific products they're working on. If you're extending that to 2019 or 2020, then obviously you can space it out.
Read more into my comment next time.
With three wheels.Sooooo... basically you want an updated 17" Macbook Pro.
Apple's not yet sharing how their car will be different. Or even if it will be different. But I'm pretty sure that what most are imagining will be as close to the actual product as this was to the iPhone:I honestly do not see the point of this, unless it's solar-powered, self-driving, uses Siri for destination choice independent from language and accent (not sure about Apple Maps but the way my English version of Google Maps pronounces Dutch street names is HILARIOUS... and makes it near impossible to find the place) and, basically, beats thousands of companies who have been making cars for decades – at first attempt.

Honestly, there are only a handful that posts to this site that could afford an Apple Car let alone a Tesla. Most are on the "secondary peak" of Apple's demographics that will bitch and moan about anything they can't have or have but it doesn't work as expected.ooooh Tim Cook says every day is going to be like xmas eve. If that were true I'd be getting into my Apple car in 6 hrs.
I wish MR would stop commenting on the "loud motor noises" from the Sunnyvale location. If Apple is designing an electric car (why wouldn't it?), the electric motors on EVs are nearly silent and wouldn't elicit complaints from residents. The loud motor noises were likely backup generator tests/maintenance, or some Apple guys working on/showing off their gas-powered cars after hours at the facility.
Enjoy the iCar concepts, and yuk it up about how foolish Apple is to think people will buy an iPhone on wheels that gets thinner every year and requires you to buy an adapter to drive it on the freeway. Just understand that it comes from the imagination of someone who probably doesn't work for Apple.
no doubt it'll come in 3 flavours: 50mph - $20999 80mph - $25999 120mph - $30999
