This is the yellowish spot that is now showing on my screen. You can barely see it because i basically took a picture of my screen with another phone... but it is there on the end of the screen by the bend and volume button.

OP your phone is obviously bent.
The 6 bends and you can get another one but you'll just have to be super careful in the future. I've never seen any other non-iphone that has this problem.

Come on, I have always put my phone in my front pocket and I don't like cases. So now Apple thinks you aren't supposed to put it in your pocket? Now you have to have a supporting case to keep it from bending. That's a bunch of bull. If this is a real problem it won't stop at just their customers taking it on the chin. I have had my phone since October 6 and it's in my jeans pocket all day every day and no bends yet. I would be furious. If you didn't do anything to bend the phone You can always write an email to tcook@apple.com with a photo of the phone and you will get an answer from someone fast.

This really works? Hah ok, i'll try it if i get no help when I call back after work.

Not me.

The numbers don't add up from bent phone to phones actually sold.

The phone just didn't bend itself. And 'normal' use didn't either.

Now sitting on phone or hitting it on wall/revolving door, etc will cause that kind of damage.

Given how many phones have been sold it doesn't seem to be a huge percentage of them, but it seems more than just accidental damage, which is why I've started to think that this is probably a defect in a batch or two of them. And hopefully something Apple has caught and corrected since they went out.

Curious to see if apple ever gives in. I also noticed my phone is bent recently, but it's not bad enough to go through replacement troubles. Mine will likely get worse though, so I hope they swap it for you.

This is easy and has been addressed many times before:

1. Bend it back.
2. Do NOT put a screen protector on. It is possible that under normal usage the screen protector puts a lot of lateral stress on the screen which can cause the case to bend under NORMAL USAGE.
3. Under whatever NORMAL USAGE you are doing, alternate how you place the phone in your pocket. One day screen side down, one day screen side up. If you have one day where you, under NORMAL USAGE, have it in your pocket a lot more than average, then go two days with the other position to balance things out.
4. Since the phone sometimes can heat up with a lot of usage (don't worry, this is normal), alternate how you hold it when using it (e.g. one day home button down, one day with it on the top, one day make calls with the screen facing your face, the other with the back facing your face). This is maybe one reason why there is the automatic rotation feature. The issue may be that under NORMAL USAGE, when the phone heats up, if one side is always on the top, it may start bending over at the point of the tertiary pressure point.
5. Stay away from Uri Geller. He is a wonderful person, but there can be unintended consequences from NORMAL USAGE.

the degree of the bending and the angle of the bend suggests something more drastic happened than 'it bent in my pocket over time'

Further, I don't believe that you 'just realized' that your phone is bent, given that the phone is very very bent, according to the picture.

are you sure a pure accident didnt happen OP and you just wanted ideas on how to get around this?

Typical nonsense post discrediting an OP just because "I think apple is perfect in all they do." Seriously, this is getting old.

You shouldn't have to change how you use a phone to keep it from bending. Normal use doesn't involve paying that close of attention to how you hold your phone.

i have been using my iPhone 6 for a month and it has not bent.

i have put pressure against my pocket (at work, unintentionally) multiple times and it's STILL not bent.

i do not believe these phones are bending from normal use. no way, jose.

I don't think it's as simple as applying a brief amount of pressure at an angle. One of the first reports out was of a guy with his phone in his pocket for a few hours while driving and seating. I have a Note 3 that has a slight curve from always being in my front pocket for the past 5 months. So I think it's a longer exposure, at a certain curvature and pressure that does the bending. I had never noticed my "curved" Note 3 until last week. I have no doubt iPhones are bending. Oneofthenine is currently at 155 reports (as of writing this) from people who actually post these things online. How many others are there? I just bought a Note 4 and I'm somewhat relieved to not have waited for an iPhone 6+ to become available. Which makes me question the scarcity of iPhone 6+s.

This has got to be the stupidest post I've seen on this issue. You want me to keep a chart on how I put my phone into my pocket that day? Any phone that requires this much care to keep it from becoming completely distorted has serious issues.

Today I just realized my iPhone 6 was bent right below the volume buttons. I just contacted apple care and they said they wouldn't help me and its basically not their fault that after 1 month of normal use my iPhone is bent.

After I hung up with the care person I noticed that on my screen I can see a slight discoloration (yellowish hue) in the area of the bend on my home screen & all apps that i open.

I bought my iPhone from Verizon on 9/19 which pretty much means I missed the return date by 2 days...

What do I do now... Should I call back and ask for a supervisor?
Any ideas?

What a bunch of nonsense! This post has to be a joke! Please OP, please! Go away and take your bent phone with you.

Wow that's a serious bend. I thought Apple care covered anything just have to pay $79.00? I don't use ap so I have no idea how it works.

Holy smokes. That's quite a lot to remember for something that "just works, like magic".

I also recall that bending it back is a bad idea as that can cause the screen to crack.

In any case, it would be nice if the 6 were a bit more structurally rigid, if only for peace of mind at this point.

well, I put mine in my front pocket every day, so either he wears EXTREMELY skinny jeans or there is more to this story then meets the eye?

There are so many variables, just because yours doesn't bend doesn't mean his didnt.

So tired of people bending their phones while creating a story on purpose in the hopes of getting a news article on a popular website.

It does concern me that this is happening. I do believe the OP. I have both the 6 and 6+ with Apple care plus. After seeing the new iPad Air 2, I am wondering if it will have the same problem. I am looking to buy a large iPad but am holding off to see if there's a problem also.
