Can you let someone else pick it up for you? I am debating if I should order one from across the country where my family live...

I was in a pretty bad boat myself. I was living life to the fullest prior to my surgery. Here comes this week, the iPhone is released and I don't even have a clue. I'm thinking...you know, my battery is starting to shorten...maybe I should get a new iPhone...oh no...I'm going to have to wait until December.

i feel you! just had my shoulder operated on and have not been able to do much, so between staying on here and heckling at&t this has been fun a little bit!

Even though I already got my phone yesterday, it makes me happy that other people are able to get it earlier than the October dates. :D Congrats guys!

What's the point of going on contract just to get your phone a week earlier? You're overpaying by 50%.

YOU CAN! While you check out you have the option to pick "someone else will pick it up" put their name and address on their ID card, and you're all set. All they'll need is the order number when they pick it up tomorrow, and their ID. :D

Ahh so I canceled my AT&T preorder hoping to hop on this Saturday wave, only to be turned down since the Apple site doesn't support my NEXT trade in. Now I have no preorder and AT&T stores have no Pluses in stock. :(

My best bet now (and probably only one) to get one ASAP is to trade in my NEXT iPhone in store, correct?

For people trying to order with AT&T Next:

From my limited research (of 10 minutes), you should be able to buy the 'contract free' t-mobile version and be able to activate it immediately on AT&T (by swapping sim card). It should have 100% functionality on AT&T including LTE service.

Although I'm not sure what to tell Apple when I pick up the phone. Tell them I want them to help me activate on AT&T? Or ask to take the phone home sealed?

And thank you all for this thread =D

you maybe be able to click the highest price option and fix it in store

Alot of these people are not ordering off-contract. they're cancelling their previous orders with a longer shipping date, and reordering it so they can pick it up tomorrow. :D

TONS of availability for the iPhone 6... wow

I was too focused on looking for the 6 Plus to even realize.

Seems like you could just walk into a store and get a 6 right now... lol

I am ordering the contract-free Tmo version though, why does it have to go through my carrier?

You don't need to have anyone on your account. Like I said, just pick the option "someone will pick this up for me" and fill their info in, and you're good to go. Only need the order number, and the person's ID that's picking it up.

Well I'm going to Palo Alto to pick up.
But again, way too easy, but I have an order number and my cc charged so I have to see tomorrow if it's true.but why wait 2 days in line if you can get it the day after release?

i live close to the flagship store in SF and it didn't look that bad at all to be honest. But in retro spec the queue line was 3 blocks long here

My wife is wanting to take a trip to SF sometime. Won't be able to do it anytime soon as I am, unless I really want to hoof it all over the place in crutches.
