Dr. Q, I'd kinda like to see you eat your hat, not out of malice, purely from a scientific standpoint.

I predict that my post count will drop off.

My wife and I bought our first house. It's in the boondocks, and it's got no broadband. ISDN is available, though.
Well, he's not a psychic! No way he could have known... or could he... :D

Congrats on the house! And I'm sorry about the lack of broadband, hopefully it will come to your area soon!

Thanks! I too am sorry (and a little horrified). But there is about new 25 houses in the area (with more to go in, I'm sure), I have hopes that Sprint will get tired of me dropping by to talk to the manager and encourage her/him to get DSL out there to us. :)

Persistence is a powerful ally... Just make sure it's targeted to the proper authority! :)

(I didn't know Sprint offered DSL service in certain locales... you learn something new everyday) ;)

Dr. Q doesn't *know*...he just *predicts*... with an astonishingly high rate of accuracy. But it can appear like he knows, when he uses his mysterious numbers to tell you what you will be doing in ten years' time, and he's right! ;) :D

You know guys... there are a few other sites out there to read.. :p

My post rate used to be a decent bit higher, mind you nowhere near any of these guys, but lately I'm not so motivated to post... Don't worry, I read tons of threads, but there are so many people on these boards now that anything I'd have to say has already been said...

Ah well, I've still got plenty of years to live.

reality

edit: just counted; i'm ranked 346

Wow, nice to make a list, even if it's the not-exactly-money-in-the-bank End Of Time post count list. I guess all that spammin' is finally paying some dividends.

Does anyone know if Lacero is permanently banned this time? With his post per day count, he ought to be climbing the ladder as fast as anyone.

haha, ive started the new job, been at it for a couple of weeks now, its that i'm adjusting to the schedule and hours - getting used to it and whatnot that will allow me to be here more often. i have no access to computers while at work, im basically a warehouse manager so i'm too busy running around a hot warehouse organizing, pulling, shelving, tagging merchandise to post while at work, but im getting used to the long hours so i will be able to post more in my off time. :D

yeah everyone here is stuck with me :p

Sounds good then. I hope you enjoy your new job and that everything works out for ya.

*sigh* Yet more evidence of my addiction. Barring major life changes, I don't anticipate my posting rate declining too much, unless you all decide you can't put up with me any more... :p

I'm lucky I can post from work.

Yah, me too. It’s nice to take little breaks throughout the day and visit the Forums. I think in the end it helps me to be more productive at work since I’m, not burning myself out. ;)

What’s ISDN? ;) Oh yes, I remember, “It Still Does Nothing”.

Yah, I hope so for your sake! We’re just in the process of rolling out ADSL 2+ technology and lowering all our loop lengths to 900m to provide our customers (including me!) with ~20 Mbps to the home. First stage of our FTTH Project, fun exciting times!

I think it’s general policy not to speak of banned members (such as Doctor Q’s previous references to King Cobra), but he was temporarily banned about a month ago, no doubt as a warning, and his last batch of posts about a week ago were quite inappropriate and troublesome, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s gone for good this time. If you’re really curious, you can always search for his last bunch of posts to see what he was posting around the time of the “infraction(s)”.

Sure, sure. Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify goofing off, er, I mean de-stressing yourself. ;)

*nervously looks over shoulder for boss*

Pretty much. My alternative, a satalite system that costs $600 for the equipment and still only gives me ~512Mbps up/down.. for $70 a month. The wife just frowned when I mentioned that.

I'll give you $10 to bring your DSL loop to my new house. It can't be THAT far from Canada! :D

In the posts I reviewed, I didn't see anything that I hadn't almost come to expect from him, or at least not anything that seemed more "over the top" than his usual screaming sarcasm. Okay, maybe his last post was a little over the edge if you took it literally. I figured the really offensive items were removed to sanitize our posting experience. Oh well, he was quite funny on many occasions.

At any rate, managing to sustain a ppd rate over 17 for six months is impressive, even in the short term. I've only been around for a year, so I haven't seen too many with that level of activity. Is it fairly common for folks to blast away like that and then burn out? I've been snugly in the 4-6 ppd area my whole time.

Heh heh - exactly... Nothing like de-stressing yourself on MacRumors while getting paid!

Yikes, I hope that DSL comes your way quick! As bringing in our DSL network, um, where did you say you lived? ;)

I never really had any patience for his posts myself, but enough about that...

Tough to say - some stick around, others don't. And, others drop off when certain events happen, like they start a job, buy a house, have kids, or other things which cut into their free time.

Maybe you should ask mkrishnan what his opinion is. :) I'll be curious to see if he can keep up his break-neck pace of spa - er, posting. :p ;)

 I don't understand. What are you saying? I open up my browser and it takes me to MR... You mean to say there's more to the internet than MacRumors?!

Wow... a whole world for me to explore. (But not at the expense of my post count!)

;) :D :D :D

I didn't get highspeed internet until this last February. This area might be affluent but the residents are so nitpicky, hence, not enough cell towers/ cable/ DSL... and not a single street light.

What part of the Bay Area is that?! I have some family in Novato, but that's not quite the same type of community. Wouldn't "no street lights" be a hazard?

Hahaha, a "hazard" to the serene and peaceful trainquil of a small community's slumber. Saratoga and Los Gatos. The board of hotshots wouldn't allow any major chain stores in until Starbucks wore them down like, 5 years ago.

Other side of the bay! Lol :D I have a brother who lives in Stockton, but that's not any closer either!

I suppose, your community must be very... "quaint". :D So how long of a drive is it for you to get to any major retail areas?

It's not really that far, I mean its a 10-15 minute (I have been known to make it in under that ;)) car ride from Cupertino. Like, going from south to north the "city" borders are roughly Monte Sereno, Los Gatos, Saratoga, and the oh-so-famous Cupertino.

I don't know about not having street lights as a good thing. Yes, it makes the town darker at night. But yes it makes it impossible for drivers to see all those old retired folks who decide to take midnight walks w/out any reflective/ bright clothing! Especially because most streets do NOT have sidewalks.

 This city sounds like a death trap!!!
