Is anyone returning their phones ?

My touch issue happens when my hand is near the camera button and I feel like it will be probably get worse with time if apple doesn't roll out an update.

My 14 day return window is up this week Thursday too, I don't want to return it but...I paid alot of money for it thinking there will be some minor issues but not as bad as this touch issue.
I am returning it this week. My two-week return window is Friday. So if Apple doesn't release a software fix (if this is indeed software issue), then I will return mine. I will re-buy another one once confirmed that this issue has been resolved.

I will wait , but I have 10 days more to wait …..
Dont know what to advice to all.

I will say this again…
If its hardware issue , apple is done.
They will have to replace so maby displays , units , and so on and so on , plus , they will have a cemoercial , someting like samsung , watch it can go booom.
Apple will then be , presss but nothing will happen

Apple will find a workaround. Trust me 🤣

I have also returned mine and asked for a replacement. i have had touch issues but also kernel panic log on Monday and the device might be faulty

I contacted Apple support and from the way they responded I think they don't know where this problem comes from, whether hardware or software

not discounting others' issues, but data points help.
ive got the 16pm 1tb. did not install any data. i manually rebuilt from scratch.
running the latest dev beta.
no screen protector or case.
ive not seen any issues with the display lag. my expericine mimics my old 15pm 1tb i had prior.

The support would never admit to such an issue. They act like nothing is known to them and their products are flawless. I am sure the iPhone Team knows about it and what is causing it...

When you rebuild and not restore from backup, what is missing/not put back from "signing into icloud"?

I set up my phone as new two days ago (iOS 18.1), that screen freeze issue is still there when you're using only your right hand to scroll, 3d touch etc. It's either iOS or hardware. We can't do anything about it other than wait.

I have five days left to return the iphone. I don't live in a country where we have the luxury of an apple store. If the return window lapses, I'm gonna have to deal with an authorized reseller. I'm starting to get really annoyed with Apple not saying a word about this. I even called their customer support and they literally tried to pin this on the screen protector. I took the thing off and the problem is still there. The typing experience in particular is dismal. I really regret selling my previous iPhone. They should at least tell us if it's something they plan to fix.

Pretty sure this is software. Just did a full Recovery Restore using my Macbook to try to solve issues with ProRAW not saving properly in low light. After this restore, the phone is noticeably more responsive. I would say it works pretty much as my 15 Pro Max.

I didn't notice this lag during the first hours of using 16 Pro Max. It came creeping on me. So perhaps this issue is getting worse with time from a reset. Perhaps the palm rejection algorithm is somehow adapting itself throughout the first usage.

I will report back tomorrow.

Three days to return it, and there is no hope in sight. For me, I have to say that the scale is tipping toward hardware.

Well, they haven't released a software update yet so it is a bit early to draw such conclusions.

So would a complete factory reset help?

How did you originally set up your phone? iCloud backup or device-to-device transfer?
