Alright, I think I found a solution that works for now. You don’t have to completely disable the Camera Control button, only the light press and swipe options. To me, this confirms that this is a software issue, because the problem just disappears with this fix.

I also performed the Tinder test (tapping / swiping to the next photo / profile dozens of times) and it now works 100% of the time. Before the fix, it worked about 33%.
I haven't been on this thread for a while (since they released the minor hotfix for the issue which I didn't install) so have been putting up with the issue waiting for a hotfix on the beta perhaps as I'm running the latest Public Beta 18.1. However I just changed the settings you suggested and I can vouch the same - I can absolutely finger blast the keyboard now and every tap hits!

I can't say I noticed much lag in other areas - it was the keyboard typing for me, or sometimes tapping a notification or an app. I'll keep testing though as it's only been about 10 minutes 😅

Ok, going to try this.

I'm on the latest 18.1 beta and I just reinstalled the 2nd of my Spigen EZ Fit protectors on my 16 PM. My plan is to reproduce the issue for a couple of hours, confirm it -- then disable the light press and swipe option that @mathieuplante mentioned.

Stay tuned.

OK spoiler alert -- I didn't wait a couple of hours because i noticed the input/typing/swiping lag immediately after applying the screen protector again.

I tried @mathieuplante's recommendation -- and it didn't work for me. Hell I even disabled the Camera Control button/functionality entirely - and the input/typing/swiping continued. I'll probably wait a couple of hours, but I'm 99.9% certain I'll be removing the screen protector again. What a bummer.

Yeah ,but to be honest , there is a lot that people can think.
The best thing to do , would be to go in apple store , who has one , show them what is going on , ask for their opinion.
Like this we are doing nothing.
In my country , Montenegro , there is jo apple store to ask anyone anything.
There is a service , but that service is so poor that I dont want to waste time with them.
Like this , all we sre doing is speculating things.
As far as screen protector goes , there are no phones that are good for screen protector and those that are not.
Every screen should be able to use screen protector , no mather what.
It dont matter is it belmin , or magic jhon , or whatever.
If they messed something up , they have ti fix things.

I took mine to the Apple Store and they blamed my Amazon protector. So I bought a belkin one from them and it still affects the touch sensitivity. It’s definitely not the protector. They won’t fix it. Most of these tech YouTubers don’t use a case or screen protector, so it’s going to be hard to get this problem out there to get apples attention. When you google iphone 16 touchscreen issues, the palm rejection bug is the first thing that pops up. When the real problem is why is the touchscreen less sensitive when a screen protector is used, even with the Apple belkin one.

You’re assuming that you’re affected by the touch screen issue that some experience with the 16PM however it could be anything else. Sometimes it’s easy to blame the screen lag for being a screen issue , but in your case you’ve already been diligent and tried what has fixed most others touch screen issues to no avail ?

You are right , it is totaly uncertan what the cause is for this , but i dont know why its like feeling , I dont know , but I am conviced that its software issue

Hello,
I have a problem with my iPhone 16 Pro Max: the touch is sometimes less responsive, and I have to touch the screen several times for it to actually click what I am trying to select. I've noticed that even when I try to drag through the "Screen and Brightness" settings, the problem persists. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this bug right away?
I have already tried removing the new ‘Camera Control’ function, but still the problem is there!
Help me please!

PS. I've had the iphone for 2 days, immediately updated to 18.0.1 and never used it without the screen protector (JETECH)

Where is "the light prpess and swipe option" in ios 18.0.1? Can you Can you take pictures or a video?

Return it and get a new one?
Long story short , there was a thing with screen laging , and screen beeing unresponsive.
We were hoping that 18.0.1 will fix things , but it didnt.
If you remove screen protector phone will possibly work better but it doesnt mean that it will work as it should.
Now . Will you reolace it for a new device or not , that is your call
