Its so dificult , to realize diference between hardware and software, but if someting is happening all the time all over again than its hardware.
Software may not be so easy to fix , because first they have to realise what is wrong.
If only pro max 16 could work on ios 17 , we would know for sure.
Lets try one more thing , is there on this forum anyone that is programer , or used to work for apple , or engenieer or something?
His or her opinion maybe?

Now just to test this , try turning off a haptic feedback , and enable sound while typing , or just place it on silent , and then try typing , just for fun , it will be faster , a far more accurate , am I right ?

I believe any brand screen protector will cause issues. I have the belkin that Apple installed and it’s still has issues. I put my old Esr protector on a demo model and it had issues. Just to test the Esr protector, I put it on my daughters 13PM and it’s crazy sensitive. No problem whatsoever. So that leads me to believe that it’s a software or hardware issue.

So I picked up a hydrogel/TPU screen protector instead of tempered glass and so far its working fine and indistinguishable from no screen protector at least with regards to touch sensitivity. I had tried the Torres tempered glass protector before going this route and it also had the same sensitivity issue. I'm guessing this is because hydrogel is 1/5 the thickness of tempered glass

Hydrogel has its own downsides as these are harder to install (though I got mine perfect on the 2nd try), probably won't last as long as tempered glass, and does give the screen a little bit of a plastic feel but at least its protected for now until/if Apple gets its **** together, and it was cheaper than tempered glass and came with 3

For those interested I went with this one

First try at installation when I pulled the backing off I pressed it down before the squeegee step which was the wrong thing to do, its designed to float just above the phone until you do the first swipe to get it adhered, 2nd time was perfect install after pushing out some tiny peripheral bubbles. Definitely make sure you watch the install video before you do it or it will come out poorly

Now, all just kind of reminded me about this scene. Apple being the clerk.

I had significant touch response issues with my 16 Pro Max. Constant missed/delayed keys when typing and multiple touches that weren’t recognized during general use. I decided to return it and went with the 16 Pro as a replacement.

The 16 Pro has been perfect so far. Great responsiveness and a huge improvement with the keyboard. Both devices were setup exactly the same and using the same screen protector. I thought this was interesting. Makes me wonder if there is a potential hardware issue.

One of the easiest way to check touch responsiveness is to check in the settings-display-text size slider. If the slider freely moves from left to right or the other way around then there is no touch issue, this is what the apple support asked me to do, lo and behold it kept getting stuck. It wouldnt slide freely!

That’s an urban myth. Like G9N panels being better than G9P panels. 😂
I much prefer using the white point slider test 🤣🤣

This is not a good test for touch responsiveness and it proves nothing.
An easy way to disprove this theory is to go into the new iOS 18 home screen customizations menu, select the “tinted” option and there will be 2 sliders for color and intensity right at the bottom of the screen in a similar location, drag them right and left to your hearts content and they will slide no problem, regardless of the result of the font slider test, those will respond just fine to touch input on the horizontal axis.

I just noticed today, on the Disney Speedstorm patch notes website, I had a lot of touch issues. I’m not sure if it’s the display or the website however. Can someone try and visit this page on maybe a iPhone 16 Pro Max and see if you’re having touchscreen issues as well? Maybe it’s just the website that’s causing this?

Well apple support decided that I test using text size as I believe there are number of check points throughout that scale else they could have asked me to test it using the display brightness scale as well.

I am just sharing my experience with apple support and I am not looking for an argument or debate, just saying what I went through also Coincidentally found a similar video on YouTube as well.

Ok but do we need any test to see when our keyborad or dysplay in is not so good?

Heres the thing. I want all to try to disable camera button and then try to type anything just to tell me is keyboard faster , but I think it is .....
And more responsive
You do that by going in acessibility , and then camera button, and then turn it of

Just tried it and it seems like the keyboard is more responsive. If this works out I’m totally okay with this workaround. The camera button is useless to me.

I just recive a case for my iphone , gripzilla.
Not a big deal , but I recuved it , and I could swear fhat typing seams to be easyer , and a lot quicker.....
Just dont see a connection , why would it be easyer or more responsive .....
:) i hold my ohone maybe wrong hahahahahahahahhahahahh

I like this phone , but it drives me nuts.
If I just have more money , I would pay someone , some tech guy to tell me what this is about.......
But I dont have more money , so yeah :)

I went to Verizon and moved every single slider on every single model and not one moved smoothly. They all performed like my iPhone 16 Max Plus, in increments.

Slider test is not accurate at all.
I have 5 iohones in my home , none can do that

Only way the slider moves from one side to another is this , i will send you a video
