Guys, please stop with this theory about the manufacturing week and the constant questions about when the phone was made. There’s no correlation.

Also, the date you’re asking for is the battery’s manufacturing date 🤔
No but it’s true. As true as the 1TB variants going thru a more stringent QC process than lower storage models. My neighbors dogs aunty works for Apple ( at Best Buy ) and she says so. 🤣

It’s all fun and games until 12+ months from now when your phone still isn’t working properly 🤷‍♂️

Is the dog working for Apple ? It isn’t entirely clear to me 🤔
Because that could change everything…

I can definitively say that some 16 Pro Max do not have this issue. Mine never misses a touch input, ever, even when I try holding my other finger all along the edges of the phone, etc. So… seems like it’s worth investigating if there is a correlation to something, because “just software” doesn’t explain that at all.

And like I said before, my launch 15 Pro Maxes had a glitchy touchscreen issue out of the box that never went away through the entire ios17 and 18 cycle, and later units didn’t have that issue. So I strongly suggest that if you’re still in your return window, you keep returning your phone until you get one that works, because Apple will never fix it if it’s a hardware issue unless they do a full recall
The glitch happens only in WhatsApp or in specific context, so it is software related.
You described above the test they made on your digitizer: that’s a good test showing the digitizer is registering every input. That alone makes your assumption wrong.
Keep returning perfectly working iPhone doesn’t help the prices goes down at all… I’ve seen this suggestions on this forum too many times in the past, quite often for debatable reasons.

No it’s not. Besides, LG and Samsung are the manufacturers of the panel, not the digitizer, so any assumption about that is just baseless
Yes, but often i lose touch on upper left or right side touc, it seems a freeze and after a feb secondo go without problem, this problem dont happens always.

The issue that most people are complaining about is a system-wide issue, not a glitch in one specific app

The test they ran was for a different touch issue on my iPhone 15, and it’s a useless test unless your touch screen has permanent dead spots. If you have intermittently-working spots, it will not be able to identify them as faulty because the Apple employee just keeps running their finger over the screen until it fills in (which it will eventually because the touch inputs work some of the time).

I said to return your phone because for intermittent failures like this, Apple will NOT repair or replace your phone at a later time, even if you have Apple Care, because their system is only set up to replace phones with physical damage or internal failures that flag in their diagnostics software. If their test can’t see it, but you can, too bad. Your only chance to get it rectified is to return and replace your phone while you’re in your return window…

So, at the end I must only hope for a update, ‘cause it will be so for ever!”?

Well, you still have a warranty for at least 12 months (that’s ridiculous US regulation… in the rest of the world we have 24 months for a defect like that). Just wait and keep reporting the issue to Apple.

If the issue is “intermittent” it is software by nature. A digitizer is either working or not working. Since many reported (even above) that THE SAME EXACT SPOT is working after a few seconds, that’s a clear indication the digitizer is not fault. The best solution is to keep reporting the issue to Apple, not keep swapping iPhone at the store.

Intermittent issues can be caused by either software or hardware. While software is a strong possibility, hardware problems like a partially defective digitizer can also cause such behavior. Reporting the issue to Apple is helpful, but if it persists and is replicable, a replacement might still be necessary.

actually swapping is much better, maybe if everyone starts to return iphones with touch problems or screen with huge tints, they will start to focus more on quality control

Nah...it took couple of years for Apple to notice a keyboard issue with their macbooks. Apple cares only about the shareholders nothing more. If you stuck with a faulty item, it is your problem, unless the problems is crazy worldwide and they lose some massive lawsuits

Incorrect. Electronics are not either working or not working… there are many conditions that makes them work sometimes. Faulty connections, broken solder joints, bad chips, cracked PCB, etc etc.

My faulty 15 Pro Maxes were absolutely not faulty because of software. And they worked sometimes.

What was wrong with yours? Curious because my launch day 15pm came with a huge defect.

I changed my phone 1 time. I think that I will broken screen e and with apple care will change my screen😂

I was going to get a 16PM this week but this is kind of scaring me. Still not fixed? Eh. I guess I’ll just wait until the 17.

If you are having issues with touch screen on 16 pro where it registered too quickly your touch or your closing your open tabs accidentally. Do this

Go to settings >accesibility>touch>touch accommodations>look at hold duration. Mine was set by default to .10 which is a 10th of a second. Way too short of a time. I set it by clicking up arrow to 2.0 which is 2 seconds. That fixed my issue and no more accidentally closing my tabs.
