Same here. But it's the same in all the 16 Pro Max that I've tried in all stores... only some notice it, most don't notice it.
Trust me, I have OCD and notice ALL tiny issues that most people don't notice. I can assure you that my 16 Pro Max doesn't have a touch issue... :D

For example, this was me with my 15 Pro Max...
I was sure this had to be an issue with EVERYONE, but no one else replied to this thread with the same problem. I tried a couple floor models in BestBuy early after launch and they had the same problem as well, which makes me think was a fairly widespread problem on the launch units at least, but apparently very few people noticed. There were a few Reddit threads with people saying the Dynmaic Island made it hard to pull down notifications, but it wasn't something that was widely complained about. And I waited from iOS 17 until 18.1 for there to be a software fix, and it never got any better.

Do you use a screen protector? I only notice touch issues with a screen protector on

Mine is more reactive now with the RC, much better. I have the same problems you describe, nothing more, and I only notice them because I'm too attentive 😅 to any touch. My date battery build is from July, so I think it's a software issue, (I've tested several devices in stores with the same problems, of all the construction dates) in addition, your experience reaffirms it to me, we are in the same conditions and I have not changed my device or replaced the screen... 🤷🏻‍♂️ And everything is getting better. 🤞🏻

This is very reassuring! By now, version 16.2 should be released soon; let’s hope this issue gets fixed. However, there doesn’t seem to be any mention of touch improvements in the changelog, or am I wrong?

I hope that's accurate for anyone who's having issues, but I would take what Zollotech says in his update videos with a grain of salt :D
Ok, didn’t know, does he have history of bad info? Did notice he doesn’t mention the extent of the ”fixes” or what… can mean anything really.

He tries so hard to make those update videosimmediately after release that he has very little time to actually test anything with much effort. Plus one person can't possibly know if a bigger issue has been addressed without a lot of feedback from other people, or unless it's specifically listed in the IOS release notes

This. He said “a couple of things that they didn’t mentioned”… besides, it seems strange to me that Apple wouldn’t mention those two things in the changelog, and then… how can he claim they improved the battery life just an hour after installation? Let’s not joke around, guys, come on…

It’s been a few pages since I made an update, I’ve tried every beta since launch of the 16 Pro Max and none of them have helped so far.

Well it appears that the RC2 that was just released today seems to have FINALLY resolved the issue!

Can anyone else confirm?

Edit: definitely improved but not completely resolved. Typos are significantly less, most swipes are registered on the first one but sometimes requires a second. Gives me hope that this seems like a fixable software issue at least.

In my case, I have almost no problems. The few I have, I don't know if I perceive them because I have OCD with this matter... but the truth is I have practically no problem with this update… RC2

I don’t know if we have the same problem, but I still need to add a little extra force to touches to make them register

Basically Apple is not confirming touch screen issues & we all have a no idea it’s hardware issue or software issues, so basically till now we all are clueless.
