I also have OCD with this topic. Today we had to make a birthday list and I passed my phone to my 18-year-old daughter to take note, make the list, take some photos and other things for 1 hour or so. I was by her side. When she finished I asked her if she had noticed any touch problem with the phone... she told me that I was crazy 🤪. The phone was perfect.
Yes also my wife says same thing!😳

Same issue with 18.2. For some reason still, it doesn’t detect my thumb laying flat which seems to be issue only for presses near the edge. It works normally if I do the same thing using my pointer finger laying flat. My thumb has more surface area so there must be something preventing it from detecting presses with it ONLY along the edge (p, backspace, Safari tab X for right-side tabs, instagram story X, …). Other keys work flawlessly with my thumb.

Hey guys!
I don’t know what happened? But after the yesterday’s final 18.2 release everything seems smooth again.
RC 2 didn’t fix all the problems for me but the final release seems to be working properly so far.
Let’s see how long it will last.

What kind of issue do u had?

my phone was stuttering, animations were inconsistent all the time. Lag when leaving apps, painful keyboard. Basically all the issue described here since day one.

It's my experience too...

So, I bought an iPhone 16 Pro, September battery. It showed some missed touches now and then, as many of you experienced. It was frustrating and never felt that in other iPhones. I tried the touch screen test and all squares lit up, so looked like software issue. For that, an other reasons, I returned it, in case was hardware...

I bought last week another iPhone 16 Pro, this time battery from October. It ran 18.1.1 flawlessly, no screen issues compared to the first one... until yesterday!

I installed 18.2 and sudeenly the phone is way LESS snappy in screen interactions, and acting like first iPhone.

Conclusion: I think it is the software. Impossible my phone was cool yesterday, and not today anymore, only change ios 18.2.

I am in Europe and even showed me an AI app to do images that doesnt work in Europe. I am feeling Apple is overwhlemed by AI by country features, and QA in software down.

I am even considering downgrading to ios 18.1.1. Any idea how to do it? Is it dirty to downgrade for the OS code?

The difference is huge, I thought ios 18.2 would fix bugs, not bring this!

After big updates, it’s not unusual for the phone performance to temporarily take a hit while it runs all the fresh indexing tasks

Good evening all

This time around, for me, Apple took a **** outside the toilet.
Sorry for bad English translate, but in Italian is a nice thing to explane a strange situation.
So I trust in a problem with hardware and no software.
To lose touch in the corner right snd up side is a thin frames or edge.
I GIVE UP.

I’m italian too btw.
Have been experiences the issues everyone is experiencing in this thread, and at least twice my iPhone kind of fixed itself for a limited amount of time though. It’s intermittent.
But since the official release 18.2, not even the 2nd RC, everything is snappy and the keyboard is finally buttery smooth.
I am the kind of person who notices every single small issues.
I’ll keep you updated.

For me the problem is still the keyboard the letter p, backspace and return all these on the right hand side will miss touch inputs at times. They do not register all the inputs when you press them multiple times.

Anyone tested that out?
I have no problem with that. Sometimes with the A letter (in Spanish it is on the far left)

Ok again me.
I have pro max 16 from day one
It works good , not great but very good.
I dont have missed touches anymore , but what i do have is huge refresh rate drop , and dysplay somehow becomes sutterying on some apps like redit and simular apps.
Other than that , phone works great
Please , guys , its enough about touch conspiracy theory...
Some builds work others not ....
Its stupid

Nothing of us speak of touch conspiracy theory, but if touch issue may be a problem of builds, this is very serious!
So ‘cause many people have problem with your problem and don’t solved for now it.
There is a few sensibility of some screen phone.

I hear you , and I do get it.
My ohone hase faults , for sure , and 2000€ phone should have none lf those.
Correct.
But , only real solution is apple , contact apple , submit error reports , by far

I installed a Best Buy brand screen protector, and while it looks fine, the sensitivity has gone to ****.
I think the thickness of these protectors also plays a role in how the sensitivity is. I am seeing something where the touch isn’t registered, but I can’t put my finger on it (pun intended).
