but I'll never buy a newly released phone again, I'll do it after at least 1 month of looking at reviews, and being 100% sure.
The important thing is to just return your phone when you're still in the return window if you have ANY issues at all. Never wait and think that it's just a software bug that they will fix later.

My situation improved significantly after the iOS 18.2.1 update but now I can easily reproduce the issue by swiping right from the outside left edge of the screen, out of 10 swipes 1-2 times the device will skip and not recognize the swipe, or more.
That sounds like the issue I had with my 15 Pro Maxes, except it was on one spot along the top edge of the screen instead of the left side o_O

if you try swiping from top to bottom on the 2 edges of the screen using this website, you will easily notice the difference in the “touch recognition area” of the 2 edges of the screen, on the left edge there is a large distance from the edge of the screen that will not receive the touch (from the red dotted line to the end of the edge of the screen). if you swipe your finger closer to the edge of the screen, then the phone will record the touch “not seamlessly”. meanwhile on the right edge of the screen there is absolutely no problem, the touch is recorded to the outer edge of the screen. I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature of Apple.

I’m not sure if my English words are correct. sorry because English is not the original language.

I don’t have that issue at all on my 16 Pro Max. Left side and right swipe both swipe accurately from the outer edge, without any kind of miss or delay

I also have a bitter feeling. Because after 3 months with the Iphone 16 Pro Max, although it is true that it has improved noticeably, I still feel uncomfortable without a screen protector, and with "post-traumatic stress", so I use it with fear that the touch will fail. I made a decision, to have it until it comes out the 17 PM, and after making sure everything is fine, I'll change it. And if Apple is still as bad, I'll go for a Pixel 10 Pro XL, but I'll never buy a newly released phone again, I'll do it after at least 1 month of looking at reviews, and being 100% sure.
I have always screen protection, after 18.3 beta is a few better.
Always lose touch often near edge.
The problem is the same iPhone don’t have this issue.

What brand of screen protector do you use? I need to put a good quality and thin one, can you send me the link? Thank you!
So my screen is note quality because i has alternate screen and idrogel.
I bought many brand, the last it is not good quality but have a thin cover, for more free the side right and left of phone.

There are forums on Reddit where people discuss what types of screen protectors to use on the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max to avoid issues with touch sensitivity… that bad. In general, they recommend very expensive brands, $40–$50 per screen protector.
I’ve always liked Spigen; it’s easy to install and good quality. But it’s a bit thick for the 16 Pro Max, and sometimes I feel it affects the screen’s sensitivity. For now, I’m using it naked.

I think that if you have a touch issue, also if you use a good screen protection, nothing will change.
You can take this:
I use it.
Cover and screen.
Not good quality!😁

Do you have news about touch issue for IP16Pm?
Updates, spells, magics…
If a service provider has already checked your device for defects, it might be time to accept it and find ways to make it work for you. One way to reduce touch issues is to use a thin screen protector like Belkin UltraGlass.

Do u accept a device of 1900 euros with more issue?

If you buy a Ferrari, do you will accept your car with problem?
My friend that work in Apple Store in Italy say: Apple is the Ferrari of phone.

I bought this product (hydrogel), since it protects the screen and is much thinner. I'll try it. It arrives in a week.

Best advice ever. Although I never had some of these touch issues as mentioned here. I’ve noticed with the recent 18.2.1 update my screen is more sensitive as before. I’m noticing if I swipe left and right it now catches and launches my world clock widget whereas it never did that before. Just an observation.

Now I changed my screen with last idrogel.

You mean it launches a widget whichever you swipe over from the widget screen back into homescreen if you are swiping back and forth with no pause? Pretty certain this is just an iOS bug and happens with all iPhones, saw it mentioned elsewhere.
