Indeed, there are applications that are not yet optimized. And there are also people who don't use those applications (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.) Those who do not use it perceive less or perhaps no problem in the sensitivity of their screen.

Exactly from last many months, we’re all discussing touch screen issue, screen protector, battery manufacturing date, replacement of iPhone & screen replacement but not a single solution stand concrete, so maybe some apps are not optimized.

I don’t have the same problem but i feel like my screen is over sensitive? Every time i try to scroll through safari tabs, it always registers that I’m clicking on a tab instead of scrolling. Super annoying as i have to “open” a few tabs before i get to the one i want. Had a 14 plus before this and never had a problem with it.

"Not yet optimized" for what exactly? There is nothing to optimize for. Those apps are ancient, and there isn't some major hardware/software change on Apple's end that requires months of app optimization to accommodate.

I don't use WhatsApp, but the back button in Instagram works fine for me.

Indeed, in my case it is a problem that only happens to me on WhatsApp very occasionally. It doesn't happen to me on Instagram. Probably the apps should adjust the sensitivity to the new dimensions of the screen with smaller bizels. Some mention that it only happens to them in some certain games. Does it happen to you in Robinhood? I don't know that app, is it a game?

I don’t know robinhood, and I don’t play with iPhone.

same issue on ip16pm, but the iphone 16 plus has the same issue? i'm thinking to switch on it if there is no touch issue.

it seems like apple is pretty sure that their ios 18.2.1 build has fixed the touch issue. or maybe many users reported the touch issue has been partially fixed on the latest 18.2.1 build. so today they sent me another response after being silent since november 1st. before that i sent a problem report about the issue where the screen sometimes ignores some touches causing me to tap again and again and it was driving me crazy. and they told me to update to the latest version when it was build 18.1. and i replied that it didn't fix my issue at all. and they have been silent since then until today.

Hello there! If you are still seeing this on the latest seed build, can you please capture a new system diagnostics log (sysdiagnose) taken immediately after the problem occurs?

1. Reproduce the issue and confirm that it has happened.
2. Take a screenshot. (The picture’s creation time will help us know where in the logs to look.)
3. Quickly launch Feedback Assistant and select this bug report.
4. At the bottom of the report, tap on Respond.
5. The response should already be gathering a sysdiagnose. If it is not, tap on Add Files and from the list, choose “sysdiagnose logs”.
6. Tap on “Add image or video” to also attach the screenshot.
7. When the sysdiagnose is done gathering, hit Submit to send both back to us.

If you are unable to complete these steps because of the touchscreen problem, please shut down and restart the device and then complete these steps, but also indicate that this is what you did and try to give some time estimate for how many minutes have passed since the problem occurred.

Thanks,
--Dan

I've practically had no problems with beta 2 of iOS 18.3 and since I took out the screen protector too.

My situation improved significantly after the iOS 18.2.1 update but now I can easily reproduce the issue by swiping right from the outside left edge of the screen, out of 10 swipes 1-2 times the device will skip and not recognize the swipe, or more.

The touch issue there is always.
Also it is few.
But there is.

I hate this phone so much. I have an Apple Store appointment to hopefully swap out my device for a different pro max. This is the worse iphone I’ve ever had by miles. I’d be happier using an older phone.

Frame rate drops, stuttering, touch sensitivity issues.. this phone feels old when using it. What a disappointment. Can’t wait to get rid of this phone.

I also have a bitter feeling. Because after 3 months with the Iphone 16 Pro Max, although it is true that it has improved noticeably, I still feel uncomfortable without a screen protector, and with "post-traumatic stress", so I use it with fear that the touch will fail. I made a decision, to have it until it comes out the 17 PM, and after making sure everything is fine, I'll change it. And if Apple is still as bad, I'll go for a Pixel 10 Pro XL, but I'll never buy a newly released phone again, I'll do it after at least 1 month of looking at reviews, and being 100% sure.
