Personal opinion but AR seems like an innovation for the hell of inventing something (unless you are a hardcore gamer maybe)

Just like Siri I find it just too inconvenient.

Siri = I am happy when I do not have to talk for a minute in my spare time. I don’t want to think what I want it to do. I rather press a few button and know it will end up correct.

AR = holding up your phone like an idiot in public, getting it do show you stuff you could just look up yourself

You're talking about the first iteration of AR, the new AR stuff is pretty awesome, the IKEA app, the new measurement apps.

btw I'm sure no one ever held their phone up in public before AR right... gimme a break. VR is the one that's a gimmick on a phone, that's confirmed since samsung is doing it.

"What people want?" - That hasn't been true for years lol. You mean they build what they want and people will still buy so they will continue building it their way.
So 300+ million units of Apple gear sold in 2017 alone is all people buying stuff they didn’t want?

Don’t ever let facts get in the way of a good story.

People WANT want Apple builds, period. The numbers have spoken. Fact, end of story. You can say Apple does things their way, doesn’t provide X or Y, but at the end of the day, they are the most wanted products.

The smugness from Appleheads makes it certain I won't buy one and contribute to this verbal vomit from some. Geez bro, with payment plans anyone can buy the X it is not like what you think. They're selling well now you can get them BOGO or 1/2 off. I see their comments as valid and not about them being jealous.

My post has nothing to do with jealousy or social status, i am hardly a wealthy person and my device is still being paid of in monthly installments while I use it heavily for work on a daily basis.

What I am commenting on is their anger over a certain price-point being crossed - which apparently is not based off of materials, features, design or engineering but rather what they simply think it should be. If you wanted the yearly update then go for the iPhone8... that's exactly what it was made for. If you would like the anniversary edition that is packed with a bunch of cool new tech - yet same basic functionality as most other iPhones - then you are gonna have to pay. How is this business strategy new or shocking??

Huawei P20 already has 3 lenses on their phone. Once again Apple copying Android. Keep trying to innovate or let others innovate and just copy, the Apple way. Just fanning the flames, having a little fun from Colorado.

It's not doing the same thing they're talking so WTF are you talking about.

It’s new to the iPhone. When Apple released the 3G / 4 / 5 / 6, there wasn’t a dramatic price increase to obtain the new design. With the X, you’re paying a lot more money to get Apple’s latest engineering.

It’s time they rename smartphones. They are smartcameras. The camera is the primary utility. I doubt a single millennial or gen Y has ever made a phone call.

How about working on getting rid of the protrusion?

I don't know about you but for me a better photo is more important then then eliminating protrusion. iPhone X is a very expensive device and even though I dislike cases, I always keep it in the Apple silikon case, on which case (no pun intended) the problem becomes non existent. The only times I get the phone out of the case is when I want to appreciate how beautiful peace if hardware it is :)

3X optical zoom is 84mm in 35mm equivalent, that's excellent and finally gets into true portrait focal length range. Combined with what I presume will be improved portrait mode hardware and software (more and higher-resolution depth layers, better edge detection, etc.), I'm super excited about this.

How about replacing those plastic lens elements with glass?

What difference would that make? For example, with the iPhone 7 Dual Camera, there was a sapphire coating over the lens cover confirmed by Phil Schiller, which adds added protection from scratches and glass will shatter when dropped.

Well, why not ? They already use 2 cameras to do what google does with 1 and some clever machine learning code.

I never use the freaking camera. I dont understand what the fush is all about. Go buy a freaking camera if u need a camera.

I want a OK'ish camera with no bump. Prefer better battery and cheaper smartphone. Rather then having a cameraphone -_-

I hope they go a little bit wider on the widest view then.

Wouldn’t more accurate depth of field simulation come if you instead had the camera arranged like a triangle instead of a straight line?

Personally I'd prefer it, if they went with a rear design a little like the Nexus 6p
A black stripe right across the top/back.
You could then place as many sensors into that w-i-d-e space as you wished over time.
And the device would never rock due to a lump in one corner.

I've seen that before... :p

The iPhone X is the point here. Apple changed its strategy significantly and tested the price sensitivity of its customer base. Before you were able to purchase the flagship model without this ridiculous premium. I don’t care Apple is willing to still provide me 3 year old models for the discounts you listed.
The iPhone SE isn't three years old. When the iPhone X was launched it was only 18 months old.

To get the best of the best, you're spending more money. You could always save yourself some money by getting older phones, that hasn't changed. What's changed is Apple's premium phone costs $1,000, while it used to cost $600 - 700 to get the latest and greatest. Definitely a reason to complain if you're one to complain.
Definitely a reason to complain if the only thing you are ever interested is the top model. But the funny thing is, if Apple had only released the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus (at their current prices), you wouldn't be able to complain about the price. But because Apple is adding a new model on top, you are able to complain.

I wonder, are you also upset about the price of the iMac Pro? To get the best iMac, you are now spending about twice than you did a year ago.
