An iPhone made in the USA would probably start at $3000
The way things are trending, that would be quite believable in a couple of years. Considering the actual parts in the phone cost a lot less than that. The retail price paid is the perceived value of the user.

moving manufacturing to the United States will only lead to higher prices
Would it though? If it were here in the US, American citizens would be pouring money right back into OUR economy; not China’s.

Well I want the US, Apple, Microsoft, Merck, whatever to be successful so I support the person who is truly trying to improve things.

Personally, I'm happy to have a not-so-polished businessman leading this country vs. a master orator. President Trump says some bizarre **** but that's part of his charm - he's a just a regular dude and doesn't act like an arrogant douchebag.

i hope this is sarcasm.....

Trump is beyond arrogant. He is NOT some regular "dude". He is a billionaire bully and is the largest snowflake of them all with entitlement issues out the ying yang. He is a pathological liar and looks after only himself and mocks/insults everyone around him and states he is an expert in everything. The man will go down as an embarrassment worse than nixon.

But yes, keep drinking that trump-aid

Apple still has a huge cash hoard to ride this out. The only ones that are "not fine" are a handful of short-term AAPL investors, they lost money if they bought high in the past year. Long-term investors will eventually be fine, because Apple can survive with its cash hoard, so its stock will inch upward trajectory again. Maybe not right away, but it will in due time. Long-term investors don't bail out and get spooked on negative news. They're in it for many many many years.

True, question is what are they gonna do to reverse the current down tendency...cause so far they have been doing the same each year over and over again...yes, it worked very well for them but not anymore ...

...What exactly are you outraged by?

I am outraged at the fact that some people (possibly including you?) actually think that the current POTUS is able to make a sensible analysis and prediction about the state of the economy in general and Apple in particular, or any other subject for what it matters.
MAGA will have a completely different sense of urgency by the time this guy is done with screwing things us.

So your bigotry blinds you from even allowing him to say that Apple will be fine without It, too, being met with contention because he’s the one saying it?

He isn’t allowed to have a voice? He can be leader of the free world, but orange man can speak NO more about Apple, huh? Is that it?

Got it. Thanks for the input. Thought provoking

orange man has a habit of lying routinely, taking credit for everything and never taking blame and making **** up to the point of being ridiculous.

his word means nothing

Who’s holding him to it that Apple will be fine?

Anyone’s word on the future of Apple, means nothing. It’s conjecture.

What is something, is how outraged you guys get over virtually nothing ,which you even conceded is nothing when you say it means nothing. LOL! It’s quite sick! The relentless anger you have for the man. There was never Bush derangement syndrome, or Obama derangement syndrome, despite both having intense critics as well.

But I have never seen anything, in my life, like trump derangement syndrome, political or even pop culture influence level wise either. It’s not just distaste. It’s bizarre lunacy that’s normalized and wrapped up with a ‘tolerance’ pitch. Downright absurd and shameful. Grown adults acting like children intellectually and with NO self awareness clinging to like minded man babies. Just 24/7 temper tantrums. I pity the wasted effort you guys expend on such nonsense. Keep resisting, resist having a decent life too Because it would appear one Cannot have trump derangement and be a peaceful individual. By its very nature, those are conflicting sentiments.

He shouldn't be saying anything at all about this matter because he has no effing clue on anything.

Trump is the reason for the economic slowdown with this tariff obsession.

Now what is lunacy is the support trump has from his base that believe what he says over and over despite what the reality is.

What is lunacy is that Trump is so easily influenced by Hannity and fox....this shutdown being a prime example

What is lunacy is that Trump only really supports republicans and not Americans.

I speak as someone who considers himself a conservative with a record to prove it voting wise.

Bush and Obama both were professional and competent magnitudes more than this clown is.

I just find it hilarious left leaning folks and anti-Trumpers alike who love apple are ACTUALLY upset Trump defended them, said their stock is doing well overall (even if he misquoted the amount...

In this and several subsequent posts, you use the term “misquote” to describe Trump’s statement about the percentage of AAPL share growth. Do you not know what that word means, or are you hanging onto some insider information that the rest of us aren’t privy to?

“Misquote” implies someone has heard a thing and then repeated it incorrectly. It suggests a simple, forgivable gaffe that is an innocent mistake. I would like to see your source that lends credence to the notion of Trump having “heard a thing” related to AAPL performance, or even better - that he comprehended it.

Based on most internal accounts of White House interactions with Trump that I’ve read, there is FAR more likelihood that he spat out a made-up something that sounded good and benefited his image in some way, with little to no input from his advisors. This is not an uncommon thing for him. Your (conscious or subconscious, we will never know) sugar-coating of the complete and utter lie referenced in the OP indicates that the constant stream of crap that comes from the current POTUS’ mouth is at least “somewhat” effective as a cult-generating tactic.

He has no clue on anything except that he beat every single seasoned conservative politician and groomed to be president Hillary Clinton, against all odds (including near unanimous animosity from the media, which not only continues but has gotten worse with time)

He’s the dumbest guy in the world who just happens to stumbles into good luck most of the time if not every time.

Only idiots and losers and loser idiots contribute repeated success to luck 100% of the time. They don’t understand basic statistical probability. They feel no sense of personal responsibility. For anything. So how could they possibly wrap their heads around the success of others?

Jobs booming When we were told they were going away, stock market generally soaring when we were told it would crash (it has rough moments, volatility is interesting isn’t it), first president to meet with Kim Jung Un and offer diplomacy when we were told we would be nuked, a tax break when we were told it would go up, repealing unconstitutional mandate as promised (though we do need a health care plan, Obamacare was no plan at all it was a scam, and I don’t want to hear the anecdotes paying $200 a month for a $7000 deductible isn’t a plan and I think health care will always be a gridlocked issue in USA sadly, not as an apologist statement but just as accepting that with as divided as we are and neither party really caring about our health least of all, nothing will get done), the dollar is strong, bipartisan prison reform established in a divided country even Van Jones sung his praises of the president on that one and van jones is no fan of trump, rightfully and peacefully pulling troops out of Syria (reveals who’s really on his side when the neocons and EVEN liberals are pro-war all of a sudden... thats all they used to stand for was pacifism and being anti war, now they’ll be pro war if it means spiting Trump), no riots like in France and other parts of the world— and when there are they are isolated, media inspired generally, AND media glorified like its their antifa superbowl.

You’re just angry is all it boils down to. Cant accept an election of over 2 years ago now. Not with the times not living in the present. ITs fine. Again, you’re one of those who cant even admit to himself what you are. So much so you think being hateful and consumed by orange man all day in your head, means you’re woke. In my book, you seem like a joke. A predictable one. One who’s punch line Ive heard over and over and over again.

I think he has a ways to go on getting everything done he promised, for what it’s worth, and I do have my criticisms (where are we at with social media censorship? How come debate can only be had on Macrumors in 2019 without fear of censorship but not facebook or twitter? What about freeing Assange? Talk about caring about transparency, that would be a good start. Liberals used to love Wikileaks until it revealed the depravity of their own party. And yes, locking up people who have weaponized gov agencies for political reasons, all in lock step. You can become obsessed with the intelligence agency cult of personalities like Comey, who might I remind you liberals hated because they said his statement sabotaged the election for Hillary but they have such short memories that he’s now their martyr, but they are plain and simple treasonous criminals who, of many things, abused the FISA courts as a loophole for limitless surveillance power left unchecked even to spy on Trump), but the reality is he has already delivered more than any politician what they said vs what they’re doing. And considering all opposition from all angles, I’m surprised he can get anything done at all. I also don’t believe all these thick skin politicians are genuinely hurt or troubled by rash tweets the President fires off. Something tells me its theatrical and many are buying into the outrage and have done their work for them. Kudos.

Now I’m bored as hell by the predictable screeching so maybe I’ll bow out of the thread for a little and let other silly conversation manifest itself.

If he were just a regular dude it wouldn't matter so much what he says.

We all cut a little more slack to the guy down the end of the bar than to the guy speaking from behind a podium sporting the presidential seal.

Aside from that, it's less what Trump says than how he easily gets played --and baited-- and so ultimately it's about what he has allowed to set up to happen down the road to "ordinary dudes" under the distracting shield of his big mouth,

It's also then about the press coverage Trump craves, and about the ensuing rivers of partisan horse manure whose wellsprings Trump personally creates as he rolls into Twitter on a bad hair day.

Meanwhile highly agenda-driven people like Miller and Bolton essentially run rings around Trump in serving up policy ideas to Fox that Hannity can emphasize and so simultaneously sell in to Trump and also relay to the Fox-faithful.

But hey, what happened in 2018? A whole lotta voters must not have got enough coaching along the way. Gee, some of them were probably even CEOs

Trump is about Trump, full stop and MAGA be damned, it's just a slogan offered up to placate ordinary dudes.

As to your concluding remarks: Try re-reading some of Trump's tweets. He sounds pretty arrogant to me during an average tweetstorm. Just lying so often (repeatedly on the same points and even after being corrected) is pretty arrogant for a person who seems to have forgotten even during his campaign that if he emerged victorious, he was to be elected, not crowned.

The ordinary American learned enough American history to know that and will probably give Trump a thumpin' if he even stands for re-election. I suspect he'll find some good reason to vanish into the night instead. President for Life is not in the cards for him or any other American president. Two terms might be beyond the Don's private wishlist anyway. The job is a drag, as he's learning.

Maybe Putin can give the Don a dacha along the Black Sea to make up for loss of Mar-a-Lago if Trump decides trying to remain in the USA as an ordinary dude later on is too fraught with legal peril. At least Nixon got to leave in broad daylight in a helicopter. God know how Trump will manage a likely messier exit. Probably not by whipping out policy change tweets that make business decisions harder for people like Tim Cook and "ordinary dudes" at the same time, ya think?

Thanks for the fox talking points.

I wish you could see trump for what he is. A lying fraud to the American people that is doing more harm to this country than good and will take decades to undo the damage he is doing to our foreign relationships by treating allies as enemies and adversaries as friends

Haha you literally debunked none of my points, and threw up a meme and spoke in more hyperbolic terms. Way to appeal to the thinking crowd.

Peace be with you, troubled, misguided and most of all, hateful one! Love trumps hate! Don’t forget it! You guys say it enough, I’m surprised it falls by the way side as often as it does!

Gotta love people repeatedly bringing up Fox News too, when I don’t defend (why would I? They’re terrible, and hilariously enough — they’re more on your side than mine as I mentioned. It’s a never trumper RINO network, if I were the president I would stop mentioning them all together) or even regularly/often watch it (I have seen it, but I also ‘have seen’ CNN i like turning it on every once in a while to see what the hysteria trough is feeding their swine viewers, so I can be up to date). That is not my primary secondary or even tertiary source of information. But thanks for having me pinned down.

By the way- Do you have hannity derangement syndrome too? Our previous president, selfless as he was, did as well. Despite media being nearly unanimously in bed with Obama and stroking his ego and saying what a great guy he was without any evidence of policy, he was troubled Hannity didn’t like him. Search around for how many times dude was mentioned in Obama’s emotional coddling/reality distortion field speeches. LOL!

...Thats probably the least of your worries though ;)

I cant imagine how earth shattering is must be for people to realize that the president is just a human being, and certainly a flawed one, but not an actor/superhero/father figure/emotional coddler/god like being void of faults. Must be absolutely devastating to come to terms with it, or rather not, and wrestle with it as a concept in perpetuity.

“DID YOU SEE WHAT ORANGE MAN TWEETED?!?!?!??” All day every day. Yawn.
