Old designs seem to have run their course with the Iphone 8. Yeah, they will sell a moderate amount for people who have a 6 or less and really want an upgrade but the real sales will be the X well into 2018. I also think the new Pixel with the same design as last year will fail. However the Pixel XL 2 will do much better. Once you have a phone with small bezels you don't want to go backwards.

The 7+ is a better buy than the 8. The only thing the 8 has over it is wireless charging and A11.

Stock investors being a little too short-sighted on this one. Lower iPhone 8 demand = higher iPhone X demand, providing benefits for Oct-Dec 17 and Jan-Mar 18 quarters.

Apple are saying boo hoo..we don't give a turd about what you think, We think this is the best..Take it or leave it...The phone was boring after generation 2....There is nothing stopping Apple from innovation, why not create a new form of SD CARD?? That is the Steve Jobs we miss.. Tim is dull, Jony has never had an original thought in his life....The minions just say yes sir...

Steve would have thrown the iPhone x in the river.. He would not have sanctioned it..The same with the imacs, the MacBook pro and MacBook laptops, the trashcan mac, all garage...all dog turd design...nothing great about them..underpowered, stupid designs!!!

Reaaly? Steve who approved the Mac cube, who oversaw the aluminum iMacs, aluminum Macbooks, Macbook air, the removal of floppy drives, of optical drives, who was involved in every iPhone up to the 5. He would somehow in your vision approve removable storage for the phone suddenly or be afraid of removing the headphone jack when oversaw the end of 30 pin connector, the switch to Intel chips, etc.

You really shouldn't throw out Steve wouldn't have done this or that - you have no idea.

Then why is no one buying the 8 as well?

Its probably millions that buy the 8, its almost exact design as 6, 6s and 7 so the mass production line is going fine so they can supply the demand. If estimated shipping go up it only means they produced to small amount

The more I think about it the more the iPhone 8 feels like plan B. They couldn't get the iPhone X out in time and in good numbers. iPhone 8 is just everything but what they are having problems with in a known shell. But made of glass which was most like already designed back in iPhone 7's day. So Apple knows they are going to be late with iPhone X and may still be even later if rumors are true. Maybe even saw people may not totally love the iPhone X. So just to be safe they'll make the iPhone 8

Were is Steve Jobs when you really need him? :(

Not to mention the 8 looks exactly like the 7. It should have been named 7s.

I'd like to thank everyone who buys iPhone X for sending Apple the message that £1,000 smartphones are ok.

The new iPhone used to launch at £699, with the X and going forward I fear those days are gone.

I have said it a couple months back. If there is iPhone X, the iPhone 7S/8 is useless. I see no reason people buying a 8 when all the goodies are on the X.

The sales flop of iPhone 8 proved that majority will wait for the X. I can foresee people will be yelling here in December becoz they still cant get the iPhone X because so many people are going after it and Apple cant keep up with the demand.

If you asked me, I wouldnt create the iphone 8 at all. The biggest local Apple store here where I live, had 4 people waiting in line this morning to get Iphone 8. Yes, 4 people. And you can now walk in to buy any iphone 8 model without reservation as we speak, on the first day of iPhone release!

Bad press, bad move.

Yep iPhone X historically should be £799.00 so £999.00 its totally overpriced.
Is Apple going to finally pay for being greedy, afterall greed is one of the 7 deadly sins.

Judging by the sales of the 7 and 7+ that aren’t far from parity, I think it’s safe to say that there are many people who don’t want a phablet for a phone.

I bet a million most people buy the best deal rather than the best size.

I was quite excited by the iPhone X build up. Then "Facegate" happened - which instantly put me off. Who could say no to Craigs beautiful face? The iPhone X can! :(

Then when i did get working, the fact it had to be RIGHT IN YOUR FACE and the swiping to get it to unlock also put me off. Then the rest of the features perked me up a bit and I thought "actually this iPhone is looking pretty good".

Unfortunately the Apple magic sapped away when the landscape video playback had rounded corners (what is this? 1990?) and THAT NOTCH CUTTING INTO THE SCREEN ARGH.

Then the price was revealed.

And then I said "HARD PASS".

No interest in the iPhone 8 (I am not paying nearly the price of the X for "yesterdays" tech. So the 8 is horrifically overpriced.

Sadly the thing is that Apple make kit so good that iOS 11 and my iPhone 6S+ are rocking happily. But the 8 could persuade me if it was £300 cheaper... I am still swayed by Apple somewhat....
