Hi!
Does anyone know how to turn off OTA and hidden deamon are usually in the beta versions for report crash etc? And killswitch?

if the hack works I think it is useful.

Apple doesn't tend to bother stopping signing betas since they expire anyway - for example I restored iPhone 4 to beta 1 to validate the plist hack only last week, quite a few weeks after beta 2 was released. However I am not planning to test whether b2 still being signed. Maybe next week after I've tested the expiry hack on b1 next week. I'd put money on it being ok but seriously doubt you'd want to go back.

As for IconSupport, I haven't tried 2x2 folder icon but homescreendesigner worked fine for me on 5s and 5 running b3.
I just installed b3 on my phone and home screen designer isn't working at all. I guess that is iconsupports fault.

Well I have to say b3 feels a LOT better than b2. Notable changes to me:

1. 5s doesn't seem to do crazy boot loop process on reboot anymore.
2. IconSupport working fine on my 5s and 5.
3. Plist hack seems to work too - have set phone forward to May 1st and still works, like before.
4. Bugs that we're starting to irritate me with Music app and iTunes Match are now fixed.
5. Far fewer known issues in release notes.

Don't forget I have an iPhone 4 running b1 so will know for definite if plist hack works by this time next week so in worst case can go back to 7.0.4.

I'd encourage you to give b3 a go, particularly if you have a 64 bit device. You will still have until 27 Jan to go back to b2 if you don't like it.

Wow awesome! If the plist hack works and b1 doesn't expire, I'll be updating to b3!

No crazy boot loop is awesome!

Wait he says it does work though...

Do you have a 5s and can confirm the crazy boot loop is gone?

Wow! Thanks for the input - you're the man!

I'm still weary about the altered evasion, I'd really love to edit it myself if possible, but looks like I will update to b3 soon.

It only creates 4 icons at the top and nothing else for HS designer.
I did a clean restore and no backup to 7.1b3.
Crazy boot loop is gone haha

good to hear so you said IconSupport is working that means tweaks like iconoclasm, infiniboard, infinidock are working fine right?

Multiiconmover isn't working. At least for me running the 5s.

I also get the 4 icons In a row issue with Home screen designer, both on 5c and iPad air.

Restore from backup on 5c, fresh install on air.

Cccontrols is not working either. When I swipe up for control centre it reboots into safe mode. Using flipcontrolswitcher for now which seems to be fine.

Editing evasi0n yourself is not that hard:
  1. Get yourself a copy of the official v1.0.2(beta) of evasi0n 7
  2. Open the DMG and drag evasi0n 7.app to your /Applications folder (or elsewhere, if you want)
  3. Launch your favorite hex editor (I use 0xed)
  4. Open /Applications/evasi0n 7.app/Contents/MacOS/evasi0n7 in your hex editor
  5. Search for text '11D5099e' and overwrite this with '11D5127c'
  6. Save the file, quit your hex editor

Your copy of evasi0n 7 has now been patched to recognise iOS7.1b3 as something it can jaibreak. Worked for me.

What devices did you try it on? And restore from back up or set up as new?

if anyone is able to load iPhone 5 AT&T (haven't tried, spent too much time last night dabbling with beta 3 to work with JB, and then re-restoring and re-configuring my tablet) or rMini wifi by restoring as new and using modified evasi0n or modifying evasi0n themselves, please let me know and quote me!

Works for me. Wonder what's special about me. Odd.

This is my 5s - you can tell it's b3 from the colour of the Messages icon.

did you edit your version to 7.0.4 as well? out of curiousity

just wanted to confirm this worked well for me, first time in a hex editor :p

used frhed @ http://frhed.sourceforge.net/en/ since I'm on windows

Is it possible to use hex editor to get rid of the message "The attached device is not activated. You need to activate it before you can apply the jailbreak" so you can jailbreak ios 7.1 beta 2/3 without udid or edit the programming to allow something like this. Or more simply put if this isnt possible is it possible to bypass udid activation in betas 2 and 3 by means of any other method on an A5+ device. I heard of a means of using Validudid7 to do it, but i then realised that it probably allows you to use udidfaker but then if you have one of your devices activated can you fool your devices udid into thinking its a developer by changing the udid which connects to the apple activation servers.

Exact steps I followed were:

  1. Backup iPad in iTunes
  2. Do full restore to 7.1 b3 (not OTA) in iTunes
  3. When connects back to iTunes do restore from backup
  4. Do not set passcode on device yet
  5. When iPad reboots after restore, quit iTunes (so Apps etc. don't sync back to device yet)
  6. Run evasi0n jailbreak
  7. Open Cydia and let it do its thing (resprings when done)
  8. Open Cydia again and apply all updates
  9. Open iTunes again and sync back all apps
  10. Start re-installing tweaks

Key steps I think are the fresh restore (i.e. not OTA) and lack of passcode

I have performed this on my MacBook Air on OS X 10.9.1 on iPad mini retina Wifi+Cell (128GB), iPhone 5s (32GB), and iPhone 5 (32GB) and it has worked every time, first time.

Hope that helps...

Are people who are all using beta3 developers? Like can anyone download b3 or is there a passcode they ask when you install? Thanks.

beta 3 was useless for me because Music app was a dog. reproducible on two separate devices. Trying opening an artist that has LOTS of song (like 366 ish)

Back to beta 2 and confidently/happily staying put until GM if exploitable.

Otherwise beta 2 until further notice.
