Shame they don't offer 16gb ram variants of the Touch 13".

Agreed. I picked up the base TB model yesterday and it's great, a really good machine. 8GB seems to run really well, but if they had it I would have been persuaded to upgrade to 16GB (without upgrading the SSD).

How are you finding battery life (actual usage rather than what is estimated). I've settled for the non-touch since, everyone seems to be getting sub-6/7 hours real use with the touch-bar version.

Too early to tell. I had it on charge for the first couple of hours I used it while it downloaded my emails and iCloud photos. Used it for about two hours unplugged after and I think it moved down about 18%. Started off with an estimated 10hr6m at 100% and had 6hr20 left at 82%, as far as I can remember.

Will have to put it through a couple of full cycles and see what it's like after that.

I asked at the Apple store in Belfast yesterday and the guy told me he didn't know when they would be in! He said they would get a surprise delivery and that's when they would be there...

From historical experience, Regent Street and Covent Garden get their deliveries first thing. In both cases, if you arrive when they open and the staff say that they haven't received anything, ask them to check if the inventory team has loaded the stock onto EasyPay yet and/or if their daily delivery has arrived. If you're happy to wait for 20 minutes or so you may strike lucky. Polite but firm etc.

Just picked one up from Regeant Street. Not much stock left. Only 13 inch available at the moment. Goodluck!

The stores that have stock - do they also have demo models out on display?

Yes but only 13 inch on demo at Regeant Street

Out of interest did they have any BTO stock (e.g. 16GB RAM)?

And I got my good luck yesterday when my pre-order arrived! :p

Posted this yesterday..... from what I was told (and saw on the handheld of the guy serving me)...... there is only one 'BTO' model available which is 16GB RAM/512GB SSD and with 3.3Ghz processor. This was priced at £2399, and was in stock in both silver and SG.

Having looked at some of the other US threads on here, this is the same custom model (and the only 13 inch one) that is available in US also.

Interesting they selected that as the 'max' model and not the 1TB. Thanks for the update. :)

Which store was this?

When do you guys think the 15in Model will be available for pickup? The 13in appeared today but I really want the 15in one

Spoke to my regular contact at Apple this morning and there are no 15 inch models available anywhere in the U.K., nor is there an indication of when they will come in. The rep has escalated the matter internally to give me an idea of what to expect and I'll post back when I hear anything.

EDIT: REMOVED

I also have a pre-order with Currys. I ordered the top spec 13" model, they currently have a £100 discount on Mac laptops. Combined with my 8% discount with Currys, I was able to order it for 1700. Hopefully 10% Quidco as well!

I just spoke to a manager at Currys. They are expecting a delivery of 1200+ units in their warehouse tomorrow. Thus, preorders will be delivered before the end of this month.

Did any of the stores you guys picked your 13" w/ touchbar up from have any out for display yet?

Just picked up two standard 13" TB models from Brighton. They are on display. No BTO variants in stock though and no 15".

Picked up my 13 tMBP and using it now! It really is a thing of beauty. They did have a touchbar MacBook Pro on display for demo use at Bluewater Apple Store.

Really hoping the 15" come in store soon. I have a BTO on order, base 15" but with 512GB SSD. I'm willing to pay more instore for the higher up spec (455, 512GB) to get it sooner as my delivery date is late dec.
