Other 📱📱U.S.A. - Apple.com - New iPhone 16/Plus/Pro/Pro Max US Pre-Orders, Orders, and Delivery Status Thread (2024)

The Desert Titanium sure looks pretty but way to feminine for my linking. It literally looks like the iPhone X Kim K edition.
I once had a gold iPhone and hated it but it’s good there’s some choice so everyone can get what they like. I usually go with black or white but this time natural titanium. Never warmed up to my black titanium 15 pm. Hope the nt is not too gray.

The Trade-in Process in store is sometimes done on a separate transaction - or you have to make an appointment to do that. You can always try, but if you show up to pickup your new phone and don't have trade-in already set up, they may tell you to file for it online because launch day will be so busy...they may not want to hold up for an impromptu trade-in.

For what it's worth, the trade-in process in store has never taken more than 10 minutes for me. At this point they're ready for all kinds of nonsense on launch day, a trade in is a walk in the park for them.

Is it only the 12 Pro and on for the $1000 credits towards an Iphone Pro? The fine print on ATT site shows 12 and 12 pro? (could have sworn) they stated it was just the 12 pro in the keynote

I feel like last year the website loaded before the apple store app on my devices. I wasn't able to place my order until 8:15am ET or later, but still get my two orders in with the 9/22 delivery date (2023).

Interesting. My experience has been the opposite. I'll try both by clicking on the url links in the calendar reminder.

So frustrating that you can't do the "get ready" with the veteran/military store!
Is there a way to favorite the configuration you want? In years past I selected several favorites and when the store opened for pre-orders I was able to access the favorites quickly instead of having to select all the options for my new phone as I frantically clicked to try to get a launch day delivery. :😁:

The last few years have been much more graceful in ordering, though I am on the IUP and perhaps that's why it is easier for me.

One thing I did some years ago was to try to choose a case while my iPhone sat in the cart, and by the time I chose the case the phone delivery date slipped significantly. d'oh! So now I only order the phone when the store opens, and save all accessories for a separate order after launch day confirmation.

does anyone know, is it best to order on friday in the app or online, does it matter?
I usually wait for store opening with a Safari window on my Mac, Apple Store app on my iPad, and Apple Store app on my iPhone. I order on the first device that actually connects to the store.

so you have a warm room of devices to order? ha!

I went back and forth in my mind last year between the NT and the Black. Eventually went with Black. Going with BT this time.
Cool. Question, did you have any problem with chipping being too visible on the sides? or any problem with color at all?

Dumb question, if I may. What option do you select for a store trade in? Or do you select no trade in and when you get the new phone just take your old phone to the store for the trade in? Thanks.

No such thing as a dumb question. I always select no trade in and tell the employee when I pick up what I want to do - they take care of me on the spot.

This year, I'll be getting the phone shipped to me at my office and take the phone to trade in at the store retroactively since they can apparently do that (learned when I did this with my iPad Pro in March).

edit: wow I must've had a stroke typing that. edited for clarity!

Thank you! I will do the same.

Let’s go, Sis!! Great to see you for our annual craziness. What are you going for on phone models/colors?

I have a 512GB 16PM in Desert Ti on PPO. Two cases from the Apple Store deliver tomorrow.
We'll be twins, except for the color. I've got a 512GB Pro Max in Black locked and loaded for Friday morning. My 15 is white, so I'm going opposite this time. Hoping preorder is smoooooooth this year!

I always do the minimum, so I’ll get 128GB. We have a MyCloud on our home network that we back our photos up to, and that’s what would take up the most memory for me. Right now I’m at 80GB and I haven’t offloaded my photos in a few weeks 🙂
With the upcoming on-device AI and not knowing how it will impact storage, if at all, I went with 512gb from my normal 256gb just to be safe.

Is anyone having issues with the pre pre order on the apple site going through T-Mobile . I’m trying to do it but it won’t allow me to even though it said you’ll be able to on 9/11. I already know I’m eligible for an upgrade. I do this every year

try downloading the apple store app instead

I am all set to hit the button on Friday Morning, iPhone 16 Pro Max, 1TB Black TI Color

Can we carrier finance on the veteran page? I know they used to do it before, but right now we can only see the full discounted price for each carrier for some reason.
i don't know cuz i just pay outright with apple card. i know you can't do the interest free apple card payments on the vet page.

What is the least expensive way to buy an iPhone without getting into a contract with a carrier? Using the AppleCard through the Apple Store? OR is there something else?
