My current bill is caught up as of this morning I upgrade this way every year this is the first time I’ve tried the get ready thing

The pre-order is a week earlier this year, as is Launch day. Perhaps it's a number of billing cycles issue.

Probably a typo error. Launch day is 09/20. So, if you are fast to preorder you will get it on 09/20.

It needs to be preordered to get it delivered or picked up on the first days/weeks (unless you get lucky, and the Apple Store close to you will have the one you want in stock). Some colors/sizes are more popular than others.

How does a trade-in at an Apple Store look like?

Say I select "In-Store Pick-Up" for my iPhone 16 Pro, do they take it from you immediately after purchasing the iPhone 16 Pro? Wouldn't you need your old phone to transfer data to your new iPhone?

They will wait until you confirmed your new phone is setup and working.

I plan on picking up first thing in the morning before work. Hopefully, I can grab an 8am time slot.

Unfortunately, I'll have to try for an afternoon ISPU since I start work at 6a but maybe I can shoot for a 3pm pick up if it's available. It's been hit or miss whenever I've tried to select pick up on launch day.

I usually tend to go for the 8AM slot so I can just get it over with. I'd be too antsy and excited if I had an afternoon pick-up slot.

Waiting all day for UPS to deliver is also no fun. lol The delivery time starts early and gets later and later as the day unfolds. lol

So true, and good luck trying to lock-in a 2-hour delivery window with UPS. I don't even think that's an option any more on the day of launch. I tried once and it was delivered about 5 hours later.

I plan to buy a new 16 Pro Max by financing through Apple. I also am thinking about trading in my 14 Pro Max to Apple.

1. After Apple gets the phone and confirms the condition, do they apply the full amount of the trade in value towards the 16 Pro Max OR do they apply monthly credits over the duration of the 24-month financing period?

2. If they do apply monthly credits over 24-months, what happens if I upgrade to the 17 next year? Do I lose the remaining credits?

if you’re financing thru apple they discount the purchase price immediately. you get credit before sending in the trade in.

I have the 16P 128GB in Desert Sand all lined up for pre-order on Friday. I will be out of town when it gets delivered and won't be back for a week...my husband's sense of humor is such that he will probably hide it on me (he's still happy with his iPhone 10 LOL).

I also use a different card so I can keep the Apple Card cash back. A little trick the guy at the store taught me

do you have to make an appointment for this? what do you say, “i’m bringing in my trade in?” what do you show them? very interested in doing this to avoid the worry of sending it in.

Pre-order actually starts on the 13th and delivery should be the 20th if you make that cut if not it could be out further. 9/13 pre order, delivery 9/20.

I am hoping to do that as well. When I order the 14P i used delivery and UPS wouldn't leave the phone and of course, since I was at work when they came, they took it back tot he local UPS depot where I had to wait with a lot of other folks in the same situation. To make it worse my driver hadn't even returned to the depot yet so I had to wait for him to return, unload his stuff and they hey had to sort out all the undelivered phones. It took almost 2 hours. Never again. I'd have them deliver to my office but the same thing will happen if they deliver after the office closes.

I will never have an iPhone delivered to my home or work ever again. It is far easier for me to visit my local Apple store and pick it up on my own terms. No need to fret over a tracking number ever again.

When you pick up your new iPhone, transfer the eSIM. At that point you can either use Quick Start or your latest iCloud backup. I personally don't enjoy transferring my old data to my new iPhone while I'm in the Apple store. I just want to get my new iPhone working with the eSIM transferred and then I will restore from my last iCloud backup when I get home.

Once the eSIM is transferred, tell them at the store that you would like to trade-in your old iPhone. They should be able to accommodate that then and there.

I’m trying to “get ready” for preorder with Verizon’s $1000 trade in credit, but the Apple Store app is giving me this error-

I have the ultimate unlimited plan required for this promotion. Any ideas what the issue is? I contacted Apple and Verizon and they don't know. I get BYOD credits on my plan, but I would've thought this promotion would just replace that.

Edit: I just realized I probably won't be able to initiate the trade in until Verizon put the offer live on their own website.

I get this when I try to get ready for preorder I know I’m ready for and upgrade with T-Mobile

If you are on the Go5G Next plan the orders after initial order has to be done with T-Mobile so that they can forgive the balance owed on your trade in.

I contacted t-mobile on x today they basically said they can’t initiate the trade in until the 13th hence the generic message

Should I get the 16 Pro Max Black or Desert Titanium? Had the 15 PM in Natural Titanium and not interested in White. I'm only left with two options but even after watching several hands-on videos I'm not sure. I'm not digging the new desert color a lot, but it might look way better in person? Only reason I'm even considering it is it'd show itself as the "new" model. The black on the other hand looks sleek and since it's a huge device, won't draw too much attention. However if the desert is a neutral subtle color it could work too? Black as a darker color might show more fingerprints/smudges I think.

I'm a male and want to rock the phone caseless sometimes too, and not sure if desert would be a nice color at work? What do y'all think?

I’m in the exact situation. I usually get the new color for the year. Currently have the 15 pro max with natural titanium. I’m not digging the ‘new’ desert titanium color. At this point, they are just recycling the old gold color. I’m going with black titanium this year for the 16 pro max.
