Waiting all day for UPS to deliver is also no fun. lol The delivery time starts early and gets later and later as the day unfolds. lol
Yea I am wary of UPS now after they lost my 14PM 2 years ago and i had to jump through hoops to get my upgrade reset and my replacement phone ordered 2 1/2 weeks later I decided to pick-up in store. I went after work last year and it was a smooth process. gonna do the same this year. luckily I’m in a metro area with tons of stores so I’m not worried about slots.

Well since no one from Apple contacted me about the IUP issue I was having (said not enrolled) I went ahead and started a new IUP which means I have to find a buyer for my 15 Pro Max 256GB gray. What a pain.

Anyway, my preorder will be 16 Pro Max Black 256GB.

I contacted t-mobile on x today they basically said they can’t initiate the trade in until the 13th hence the generic message
I would double check, the below link says it has to be with T-Mobile not any other retailer including Apple. I was able to get ready for all 4 for the family, granted this is the first purchase under Go5G Next, next year onwards it has to be through T-mobile. I was told this on X. https://www.t-mobile.com/support/pl...O_SS_C_SVCPRD_4E6513C8088D5D48112156#section4

Does Apple email you when your new phone arrives at the store or is there a notification from the store app? How do you request a pickup time?
You are given the opportunity to select an available time slot during checkout for the iPhone 16. You can track your order using the tracking number provided to you by Apple.

You request a pick up time when you pre-order your new iPhone this Friday during pre-orders. They will email you the day before on the 19th of September letting you know your item is ready for pick up.

Can you preorder with a trade in and then pick up in store and complete the trade in then? Apple's site makes it sound like if you buy online you have to mail it in, but if you buy in store (not a pre order, just straight up purchase) then you can trade it in right then. I'd rather trade it in in person vs shipping it back.

How does a trade-in at an Apple Store look like?

Say I select "In-Store Pick-Up" for my iPhone 16 Pro, do they take it from you immediately after purchasing the iPhone 16 Pro? Wouldn't you need your old phone to transfer data to your new iPhone?
They take it immediately and boy was I glad I brought my physical car key with me that day! I also forgot about the eSIM thing and you need the old phone to transfer the eSIM (at least with Visible). It was quite the morning last year for me 😅

Yes, that's scary, my EV works with my iPhones as a key too.

I'd definitely bring my physical keys just in case I can't open the EV with the new phone....

How does Visible work since the carriers offered are VZW, TMO, ATT, Boost ??

Yes definitely have your key/key card on you just in case. Apple does let you setup in store but the WiFi can be slow if it’s a busy store and mine is always busy.

I buy my phones unlocked but you still have to “move” the eSIM. If I recall last year I needed my old phone in order to transfer to my new phone. I ended up having to wait until I got back home and then used my iPad to contact Visible to push the eSIM profile manually to the new phone.

is it possible to get home delivery and then return your trade in at the apple store? that would be nice cause i could set it up and transfer from old phone and a few days later when things have calmed a bit do the trade in. has anyone done this? anything to know?

did you buy your phone from a carrier or directly from apple?

I’m debating on hanging out with everyone here or doing store pickup like I normally do.

The only downside to the 16 is the new button, it seems it is slim choices for cases with the button cover.
