I would double check, the below link says it has to be with T-Mobile not any other retailer including Apple. I was able to get ready for all 4 for the family, granted this is the first purchase under Go5G Next, next year onwards it has to be through T-mobile. I was told this on X. https://www.t-mobile.com/support/pl...O_SS_C_SVCPRD_4E6513C8088D5D48112156#section4
its kind of conflicting information based on apple and t-mobile there should some mention of it on apples website about the special deal but this is all there is

"T-Mobile iPhone 16 Special Deal: Monthly price (if shown) reflects net monthly payment, after application of T-Mobile trade-in credit applied over 24 months with purchase of an iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16, or iPhone 16 Plus and trade-in of eligible smartphone. Receive credit with purchase of an iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16, or iPhone 16 Plus of $1000 or $500 for customers on a Go5G Next plan (based upon the model and condition of your trade-in smartphone); or $800 or $400 for customers on a Go5G Plus plan (based upon the model and condition of your trade-in smartphone). Max bill credits will not exceed the cost of the device. Credit comprised of (i) Apple instant trade-in credit at checkout and (ii) T-Mobile monthly bill credits applied over 24 months. Allow 2 bill cycles from valid submission and validation of trade-in. Tax on pre-credit price due at sale. Limited-time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit, data plan, and trade-in in good condition required. Max 4 promotional offers on any iPhone per account. May not be combinable with some offers or discounts. Price for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus includes $30 T-Mobile connectivity discount. Activation required. Contact T-Mobile before cancelling service to continue remaining bill credits on current device, or credits stop & balance on required finance agreement is due.

◊◊ Trade‑in values will vary based on the condition, year, and configuration of your eligible trade‑in device. Not all devices are eligible for credit. You must be at least the age of majority to be eligible to trade in for credit or for an Apple Gift Card. Trade‑in value may be applied toward qualifying new device purchase, or added to an Apple Gift Card. Actual value awarded is based on receipt of a qualifying device matching the description provided when estimate was made. Sales tax may be assessed on full value of a new device purchase. In‑store trade‑in requires presentation of a valid photo ID (local law may require saving this information). Offer may not be available in all stores, and may vary between in-store and online trade‑in. Some stores may have additional requirements. Apple or its trade‑in partners reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit quantity of any trade‑in transaction for any reason. More details are available from Apple’s trade‑in partner for trade‑in and recycling of eligible devices. Restrictions and limitations may apply."

Order online without ticking the box for trade-in. Once you receive your phone, go the Apple Store To do the in person trade-in, and the original form of payment for the new phone will be credited with the trade-in amount received.
For clarification, when pre-ordering the new phone, do you indicate anywhere during the process that you intend to do a trade in, OR do you just go to the Apple Store and setup the trade in there? Thanks

The $1,000 is correct and it takes care of the current phone being bought. When T-Mobile receives your trade in it wipes off the unpaid balance on that device as you have been billed for 12 months of EIP leaving 12 more to be billed. When Apple gets your trade in you end up paying the remainder 12 EIP.

I'd forgotten that last year I was out of town and allowed the phone to be delivered.

In 2022 I remembered that it was tricky to find the CC option, but I think i arranged it via a phone call to UPS.

Looks like i'll have to order something UPS overnight morning delivery to get them here early if I can't arrange the CC visit.

edit: Wow, either prices have gone way up or the UPS overnight several years ago I received was paid for by the shipper rather than by me.
I don’t think you’ll have an option to order using UPS overnight delivery.

Well since no one from Apple contacted me about the IUP issue I was having (said not enrolled) I went ahead and started a new IUP which means I have to find a buyer for my 15 Pro Max 256GB gray. What a pain.

Anyway, my preorder will be 16 Pro Max Black 256GB.
That’s annoying. I remember being contacted pretty quickly after I emailed Tim Cook. Hopefully they’ll reach out soon!

i a nice little chat with apple support about the message i get and said there website isn't completely updated as of yet since the pre orders haven't started yet... i have always ordered my new phones from apple for pickup after the preorders have started but this was the first time i tried to get them setup before hand

Correct, that option was the old days.

Now, it comes "UPS Worldwide Saver" or "UPS Standard International" shipping these past few years.

Even if it has to sit in the UPS warehouse / airport, it will still get delivered on launch day.

Its the most wonderful time of the year for iPhone users!

It’s September already and the iPhone 16 line-up was just announced. Yes, It’s that time of the year again. It’s time to place your orders for the new iPhone 16 this coming Friday.

The iPhone 16 Movement...

Once our orders move to process we should start seeing some movement to 'Preparing For Shipment' over the weekend. This usually happens Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon (PST time).

Once this happens you should be able to get details on your phone and let the tracking begin!
Here are some notes to help track orders:
If your phone status has changed to "Shipped", you can view the invoice on the Apple site.
That invoice has the serial number on it.
Go to Apple.com, then pick the ORDERS page (the little "shopping bag" icon at the far right on the home page... go to your orders page). Now, login, find your iPhone order... and click on Print All Invoices to see your shiny new iPhone serial number.

Another way to find it, enter your phone number + zip:
Track your UPS shipments here using your reference number
If your phone number isn’t working for UPS tracking, use your order number but subtract the last two numbers/letters. For example: Say your order number is: W123456789, You'd put in: W1234567 - make sure to use the tracking by reference feature.

Apple today announced the iPhone 16 Pro and ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max—its latest flagship smartphones—featuring larger displays, an all-new Camera Control button, and the A18 Pro chip.

16 pro

The ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ has a 6.3-inch display, while the ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌ Max features a 6.9-inch display – the biggest iPhone display ever. The borders around the display are the thinnest of any Apple device. The titanium frame now features a new blasted finish and a refreshed selection of color options: a darker Black Titanium, brighter White Titanium, Natural Titanium, and a new Desert Titanium.

The new devices contain the A18 Pro chip with Apple Intelligence support. It is faster and more efficient than the A18 in the iPhone 16 and ‌iPhone 16‌ Plus. The A18 Pro is made using 2nd-generation 3nm technology and offers a new 16-core Neural Engine with 17% more memory bandwidth. Apple Intelligence tasks run up to 15% faster than on the A17 Pro. A new, faster 6-core GPU runs up to 20% faster than A17 Pro. A new 6-core CPU with two performance cores and four efficiency cores is 15% faster and 20% more efficient than A17 Pro, with next-generation machine learning accelerators. It also supports faster USB-C speeds and two-times data processing for video encoding.

A new "Fusion" 48-megapixel camera and refreshed camera interface offer a 2nd-generation quad-pixel sensor, with 0 shutter lag for 48MP ProRAW and HEIF photos. There is also a 48-megapixel ultra wide camera for the first time, with a quad-pixel sensor with autofocus. The 5x tetraprism telephoto camera is also now present on the ‌iPhone 16 Pro‌.

The Camera Control is a dedicated, flush sapphire crystal button with haptic feedback dedicated to camera app functions. Clicking the Camera Control launches the camera app. Clicking again takes a picture, while clicking to hold records video. The Camera Control also offers touch gestures, allowing it to distinguish between a click and a lighter press. A light press reveals a new clean preview to help users focus on framing the shot, while a new overlay allows for quick access to camera functions like zoom. Users can press lightly twice to see other controls and slide to the preferred one. The camera app also has intelligent audio treatment to reduce wind noise.

The Camera Control also gains Visual Intelligence, a new Apple Intelligence feature exclusive to the ‌iPhone 16‌ lineup. Visual Intelligence is invoked by the Camera Control, allowing users to point their ‌iPhone‌'s camera at something and pull up contextual details such as information about a restaurant, as well as take actions like filling out a calendar event.

Please share your thoughts on which iPhone model you plan on pre-ordering...
Which color, size, and storage?

Are you going to upgrade your iPhone 15 this year?
Sorry. No decision on preorder w/o testing the new button layout first. No preorder this year. I will wait until 9/20 and then check out the 16 Pro Max.

Does anyone know how to preorder from Spectrum? I called earlier and they have no clue on how and said to calll back on 9/13

I have always order the pro max … but now I am thinking of just getting the 16+ … but I love idea of the bigger screen! Still deciding.

I did order the AW 10 and the new AirPods Max in orange

I don’t think you’ll have an option to order using UPS overnight delivery.
My original comment earlier in the thread was that i could order overnight from a different shipper to get the UPS driver to arrive well before noon instead of after 6pm.

Sorry didn't say that in the comment you responded to.

Edit: I'm wondering if the Next Day Air package was the IUP box to send the old phone back to Apple. A Next Day Air package did get Apple to deliver my 15PM before 2pm. I was out of town until Tuesday so it didn't matter.

Edit edit: nope, it was an Apple Watch. So I still need to find something to have delivered next day air to force the early delivery.

I’m debating on hanging out with everyone here or doing store pickup like I normally do.
funny, after spending more than an hour trying to find out from UPS if I can change the delivery to the CC for Launch Day pickup at 10am and not being able to get through the virtual assistant... , I'm thinking of saving the time by picking up my new phone at the Apple Store for a change.

I have spent so much time over the years with tracking, wondering which flight, etc., that maybe I'll use that time more constructively and actually working next week. lol

It has been painful to wait all day for the UPS guy, but I see that last year he delivered at 1:49pm, but I did have a Next Day Air Saver delivery at the same time... . I'll have to order a new MagSafe the day before to try to get that earlier shipment.

I guess I'll decide on Friday morning, and hope i have enough wits about me to be able to choose the best plan.

Order what overnight? I do not understand.

Several times my iPhone has been delivered well before noon, and it was when I had another UPS shipment that was Next Day Air. Last year it was my Apple Watch, another time it was an OWC SSD I'd ordered.

My assumption is that if I have something shipped to me UPS Next Day the UPS driver will deliver early. Otherwise I'll wait until 8pm for my iPhone.

Last year i was traveling on Launch Day so I just let them deliver the iPhone, but in previous years I have had my iPhone put aside in the UPS Customer Center and I have picked it up before 10am.

anybody know? when you order with apple 24 month financing and you add applecare+, you have to do the two year option. you can’t choose monthly. if you don’t add applecare+ initially, can you add the month to month easily afterwards?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but if you sell your phone or treat it back in in one year, you can call Apple and cancel your remaining Apple care + and get reimbursed.

Do you think 128 gb is good enough for a 7 year old. I want to make sure he has enough space for learning games. He likes to play Roblox and other games like that. Or should I just get the 256. He will be keep this phone for a long time like till the wheels fall off lol
