As a fellow NOVA resident, it will be trucked late Thursday/early Friday, sorted, and then out on a truck.It finally arrived at SDF (Louisville, KY). Since I live in NOVA, there are UPS flights from SDF to IAD on Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri, and Sat. The flights are usually between 4-6AM, so my phone missed todays flight to IAD as it got to SDF around 8:21AM.

Hopefully it will be on tomorrow's flight, if not, it will definetly be on Friday AM flight.

no one has cleared customs yet, it will move toward it's next plane (or truck) and then be marked on Apple's order tracking as shipped. That's when I'll look again at the Change Delivery- "last minute" as you called it previously.
I have tried to change mine on UPS app and in Mac browser window, and neither offer the change I'm looking for today. My hope is it'll change when "shipped" and moving toward my CC.
Looking forward to seeing how our TX CC guy's attempt over lunch today works out. I've decided I'm not willing to drive to my CC twice in one week. If it doesn't work out I'll just wait patiently at home. lol
It could cost you a extra day for delivery, more than likely. It will go to the UPS store on Friday and then it takes them a day to log it in and get it ready for pickup. It always has for me, anyway. YMMV.

I'm curious about that. I do know I have never risked trying to have it sent to the UPS Store because I'm pretty sure it'd arrive there after the truck would have already delivered it to my home.
The CC was the only place i could guarantee it'd be available on Friday morning, and that's why I've always chosen to pick it up there when I was in town on Launch Day.
I mentioned this early I the thread. This is the last year UPS CCs will be operating during iPhone season. Most are slated to close up by October. My local UPS CC has already posted the signs they are closing permanently . UPS is shifting all the holds and customer facing shipping to UPS Stores.
Looks like the Apple stores are hiding whatever stock they have available in any config includes the 16 & 16+

My trade in kit has always been included with the new phone.
I can't remember which recently launch but it did happen that all the ones that were a week late bumped up to launch day but I am not sure which launch lol
The only thing I see is “driver instructions”, which just has a list of locations like “front door” and “side door”, etc.
On my order page it gave me the option to choose between an in-person trade in or with a kit that is shipped to home, I chose ship to home so I have time to make sure everything transfers and so I can switch my work apps over

Someone else with experience can say better than me, but I believe they just take the phone to be traded in while your there
Have they announced whether UPS stores will be able to do holds for the original delivery date, or if it will still be a day's delay?
Glad to see we made it to Louisville this morning. I fell asleep right around when our(wave2) flight was over the Aleutian Islands on the way to Anchorage and missed the arrival and departure. Friday is so close! It's almost 'out for delivery' party.
