finally got my pre pre order in . Last year was a struggle due to the glitches. I ended up not getting my order in till like 45 minutes later. Which I didn’t get my phone till a month later. So hopefully everything goes smoothly and I get release day. & I’m shooting for a 8am slot 🥳

Do you think 128 gb is good enough for a 7 year old. I want to make sure he has enough space for learning games. He likes to play Roblox and other games like that. Or should I just get the 256. He will be keep this phone for a long time like till the wheels fall off lol
definitely safer to get 256 especially since he should be good till he’s 13 or 14. but if you go with 128 he’ll be fine. i think my 2 kids got 64 on their first phones. you are a nice mom. 7 is young. my kids had to wait till middle school.

You’re right . I just might do that . & yeah middle school is more ideal. I really thought about just getting him a iPad mini but when he’s with his Dads side of the family, I want to be able to contact him wherever they’re at if necessary 🙂 so a phone made more sense.

So I did my pre-order with trade-in and they already took the price off of my phone (paying with Apple Card). Now reading all the horror stories, I want to trade-in, at the local Apple Store. Should I go in and change my pre-order and just pay full price then get the refund, or stay as is and walk in that day to trade in my current phone? Thanks.

So I know this is anecdotal, but I’ve used the Trade in 2 times in the last 2 years:
Once for 12PM trade in in 14PM
Once for 12 Pro trade in for 15 Pro

Both went smooth. I unfortunately cannot do a store trade in because work applications won’t transfer on a restore so have to do it with time.

Hi All-

Wanting to get either some direction or confirmation on the best way to preorder tomorrow. I’m part of the upgrade program and have already been preapproved.

In the past years I typically just go to the iPhone app but have never been able to get in until at least 10-20 minutes after the preorder started leading to missing the launch day delivery.

So my question to the group is:

Is it better to open the app just before the 8AM EST and just leave it open or should I be opening and force closing it over and over again? Or should I only open the app a few seconds past 8AM EST?

I’ve been doing this for several years now and keep thinking I’m missing something.

Thanks in advanced for any advice!

For clarification, when pre-ordering the new phone, do you indicate anywhere during the process that you intend to do a trade in, OR do you just go to the Apple Store and setup the trade in there? Thanks
Say no trade-in with the preorder process. When you pick up your phone at the store, tell the employee you want to do a trade-in.

So I’m a part of the IUP which means the trade in automatically gets added to the order. Trading in my 15 Pro for the 16 Pro. I’m going to be getting it delivered via UPS. I’m wondering if I can just go in store on Saturday or Sunday and do an in person trade in. Has anyone done that in the past (if you’re a part of the IUP) or does anyone know if that can be done?

Last year I believe I opened the app at like 7:58 and had to reopen and close, 4-5 times before it worked at 8 AM.

I’ve been on the upgrade program for years and I can’t recall if it refreshes automatically at 8 am. I’ve always reopened and closed 😂

I’m still not able to “get ready” with Verizon’s $1000 trade in deal. Apple Store app keeps saying “your current account type isn’t supported on Apple”, despite me having Ultimate Unlimited. I hope there’s no issues tomorrow preordering. Credit score is excellent too, so that’s not the issue.

Why would a credit score be an issue ?
Are you using carrier deal or going thru IUP?

When I recently transferred service, TMO just ran a soft pull on my credit.

Yes I think that is an option

Thanks! That is what I've been doing as well and was curious to get a read if that was actually the best way to do it. I wasn't sure if it puts me at the "back of the line" every time i close and reopen the app!

I’m trying to do a carrier deal with Verizon. It asked for my zip code and number to confirm my carrier, and I keep getting this screen-

I finally got a more direct response from t-mobile this morning about the message I get in the app is because there system won’t let them check for the for the upgrade eligibility until the pre orders are available in the morning

I am upgrading from my 13 Pro this year and opting for delivery. I chose in-store pickup for my 13 Pro, and the store was a zoo; it took over an hour past my pickup time to start the process, and it was very rushed. I have to convert to an eSIM and need to transfer authentication apps so I want to do it at home. Launch day pickup is too crazy in NYC.

Tomorrow is a big day everybody I'm just afraid of glitching on the website or something I'll be doing app and website ..

if you're able to set up the pre-info today, check out should be super quick. Every year it's different. Last year the App on my iPhone came online quick.

You may be better served going through Verizon's site to pre-order to get your Verizon deal.

I believe so. The Apple Store should be able to hold on to it for the standard 7 days.

Leaving the app does nothing because the store will go down tonight probably around 9 pm or just after midnight EST. Then some people get in around 8:01 am or 8:02 am EST. I open the app at 8 am and keep closing and reopening until I'm in.

What is the purpose of this vs. just indicating trade-in during the ordering process? I take my time transferring everything over and don't want to hand in my phone the day I pick up the new one.
