Yes, lots of available iPhones at all my local Apple stores today for pickup.

I will see if my Desert titanium looks good or not and if 128GB will be workable now that I have seen the photo and video capabilities on the 16 Pro.

I might end up returning the 128GB and get a 512GB + different color....

Yeah that’s what I plan to do. I ordered black but may change colors once I’m in store.

Start fresh. It can be a bit of pain re-logging into apps but a) you tend to notice newer features easier and b) it's a chance to clear out cruft you've not been using. Always start fresh when possible.
do you know, what do you lose, or what can you keep, in the way of messages and other texts if you set up fresh?

That's a good point. I do have iCloud+ for extra storage so, here's a question. Would passwords in the password app carry over if starting fresh, and would iMessages carry over? If I get things like contacts, messages, and photos carried over I wouldn't mind logging into apps.

All this order anxiety with :01 order time, wave 1 flight and waiting for delivery. Then on delivery day, the stores near me have plenty of Pros.

Yup, now I understand why people order with massive storage.

Past 5 years never needed more than 64GB because the iPhone camera was basic (good for point & shoot).

But now the 16 Pro came out with very neat features ( action button, camera control button, 5x lenses, etc) and now I am looking at replacing my Canon DSLR with the iPhone 16 Pro for both 4K videos and photos.
not as elegant as onboard storage but you could run a compact external drive via usb

I was surprised by that, too. I expected my iPhone to go to Logan. Instead, it went to Bradley (apparently on the same flight as you), and was put on a truck for the three hour drive to Lynnfield, MA.

Delivery window updated to 11:30 - 3:30. And I'm still waiting to see the "Out for Delivery" scan.

I'm from Wakefield! Enjoy the phone - I'm out on the west coast this week so will be sniping an in-store pickup later today if I find one.

Well to be clear I was referring to the app reloads.

If you're signed into iCloud, then all your texts/contacts/phone log/passwords etc (assuming you have them turned on to sync) will copy over. Any specific apps (let's say Dunkin' for example) would have its data restored when you reinstall the app - again, assuming you have it set to sync to iCloud.

If you want to check what would be restored when you sign in to iCloud on your new phone, go into Settings, tap on your ID, then iCloud, then "Saved to iCloud - Show All" and you can see what you're syncing - or indeed, not syncing. Make changes as you see fit. Then on the new phone when you log in, everything that has been synced should be available.
