How do you get the real time view of the truck, is it just luck? I don’t pay for ups my choice
I don’t pay for it either, it shows at the top of my screen when I click on the actual delivery.

There is a free account for UPS my choice - you don't have to upgrade to premium.

Was wondering the same thing. Installed the UPS app hoping to get these details but still no joy.
In my experience the map doesn't appear until the truck gets closer to the delivery location. In some cases the map never appears, maybe dependent on the driver enabling it?

Well to be clear I was referring to the app reloads.

If you're signed into iCloud, then all your texts/contacts/phone log/passwords etc (assuming you have them turned on to sync) will copy over. Any specific apps (let's say Dunkin' for example) would have its data restored when you reinstall the app - again, assuming you have it set to sync to iCloud.

If you want to check what would be restored when you sign in to iCloud on your new phone, go into Settings, tap on your ID, then iCloud, then "Saved to iCloud - Show All" and you can see what you're syncing - or indeed, not syncing. Make changes as you see fit. Then on the new phone when you log in, everything that has been synced should be available.
Okay, good to know. So if I hit don’t transfer any data when setting the phone up, all I have to do is login with my Apple ID and iCloud stuff will copy over just not apps. I think I’ll be doing this too, then.

As of 9:43am it says “this package is being held for a future delivery date”… should I be concerned? It says expected delivery for today still and showed “on its way” at my local UPS Facility at 8:20
I think you’re ok. I had the same thing happen. You are probably waiting for an iPhone trade in kit. Mine had the same delivery number as my iPhone. Iphone is in Atlanta and trade in kit is in Louisville. Give UPS an hour or so and it should be sorted out.

That's a good point. I do have iCloud+ for extra storage so, here's a question. Would passwords in the password app carry over if starting fresh, and would iMessages carry over? If I get things like contacts, messages, and photos carried over I wouldn't mind logging into apps.
I‘ve been copying my stuff since the iPhone 4s days

Recently though, if you copy stuff over you only need to type your password on very few apps, not all, the most important being my authentication apps that detect the device change.

Back then they always recommend to start fresh when we used to download apps through iTunes, but now since everything is downloaded to your phone it really doesn’t matter, all your data Is backed up digitally with iCloud

UPS cutting it close, truck barely made it across DFW to get on the local delivery truck before it left. Out for delivery now, so about 3 hours for me.

Way back early in the thread someone mentioned that if you kept skipping that screen you could activate on any carrier since all phones are Unlocked from apple.
Not true if you buy an ATT phone, Verizon and T-Mobile only come unlocked directly from Apple. If you buy your iPhone from the Verizon and tmobile store they will be soft locked after 60 days.

This is the true benefit of buying them directly from the apple store.

The most annoying thing about starting fresh is having to re-do your home screens.
The 2nd most annoying thing is needing a certain app quickly and realizing you haven't reinstalled it yet, so you go to do that which is when your internet speed drops to 9600 baud just because you're in a hurry.

Yes I am waiting for a trade in kit, I hope that’s the case! Thank you, I’m really hoping you’re right. I was about ready to drive to the UPS Center 😭

So I have a question, one screen of the UPS My Choice app says my 16PM will be delivered between 12:15 - 3:15 PM and the other view says delivered by 7 PM? 🤷🏻‍♂️ which is it?

I have to take my wife to a PT appt between 4-5 pm, so nervous about missing the delivery.

It's estimated between 12:15 - 3:15 but also shouldn't be any later than 7. Both can be true

I’ve been “preparing for delivery“ for about four hours and my phone and watch still aren’t on the truck. I’m thinking I may go back to in-store pickup next year and just deal with the chaos.

I think the person that posted early in the thread was talking about non financed phones

My 345 gb Of hires music will take the entire day To download, this slows down the other apps that download in the background, what sucks it’s that it’s not dependent on internet speeds, but how apple music downloads the songs.

I love my music downloaded on my phone because believe it or not, some music on Apple Music gets deleted for unknown reasons. I legit created a smart playlist that keeps track of deleted songs, but usually artists like to re do their songs and change content digitally and I like to keep the original version that will continue to download from my actual back ups.

Now that you mentioned home screens I literally reconfigured my screen to prepare for the new iPhone with the ios 18 features!
