Other 📱📱U.S.A. - Apple.com - New iPhone 16/Plus/Pro/Pro Max US Pre-Orders, Orders, and Delivery Status Thread (2024)

Had my pre-order ready in advance and using the store app on iOSand fully signed in and I had no way to check out with Apple Pay. Had to put all my details I. Manually like the good old days and lost my initial pickup appointment.
I posted about this. Same thing happened to me and almost screwed me out of launch day. 👎

Placed my order for iPhone 16 Pro Max White Titanium at 5:14 AM PT. Website didn't work on my Mac or Windows PCs. Ended up getting in with my Android phone on LTE to place the order. Shipping was already bumped to September 30. Luckily I was able to reserve store pickup on 20th.

Guess I made the cut off because pretty much 12 stores near me say currently unavailable.

If you do the IUP and in store pick up, do you get charged for even the tax right away? My order went through and says “order placed”. But I haven’t seen any charge go through. I also used a different card when checking out than what is on my Citizens One account so hope that’s not a problem. I figured the card I used at checkout would just go to the tax.

Anyone not seen a charge yet for IUP and in store pick up and know if checking out with different card than Citizens One is a problem?
My imagination is saying in a cost-cutting measure and to increase profits, there’s just one guy in a back room processing the charges one by one this year. 🤣 I placed three separate orders, and only one has been charged so far and that was 35 minutes after the order was placed. That was the order I placed last of the three orders. Anecdotally, that one is a different carrier than the other two. Seeing that charge was reassuring. I’m sure the other two charges are coming, but I won’t rest until I see it on my Apple Card transaction list.

Take my money, Apple!

Im wondering if apple is still imposing
those limitations w ups distribution centers picking up their phones (assuming so ) . I couldn’t do store pick up at 11am due to work. Whomp.

Oh ok. Several had said they already had their cards charged so I got worried. I did select in store pickup though.
The cards have not been charged yet only a hold to verify Card and balance. Unless your Credit card allows you to see holds they will not show up for a few days and may even drop before the actual charge is applied in the final steps of processing.

I initially started to do this when checking out on my phone. Then I backed out, scrolled further down and found a separate white apple pay button underneath the first checkout button I clicked on. IMO having two checkout buttons is confusing.

Now… If I do not want to mail back my 14PM, how difficult is it to trade it in-store?

I did not see an option for choosing mail or in-store
If you have a store pickup, then just don't send it back. Just give it to the sales person when you pick up the new phone. I did that last month for a new iPad.

You don’t know me or my life. I have had plenty of struggles and know what it’s about. I am saying in the grand scheme of things apparently how bad the economy is. I am fascinated every year it’s not a problem for people to drop $1k+ on these. Financed or not.
It fascinates me too, even with financing it's amazing how many really struggling people do this, but you could also look at like this. It's a VCR, Camcorder, Music Studio, Hi FI, Camera, full computer and Video Game console. And I assume lots of people feel this is the most important consumer item they own, It's actually a bargain if you really stop and think about it.

I guess the crazy part is many have a few year old model and it's more than fine, or could buy a used iPhone. So yeah, but hey some dump TV bills, even seen a few say they would give up their car or buy a less expensive car to have a top of the line iPhone, I guess they use it more than anything else in their life.

We are a country in massive debt. I carry more than I should, I know I should just pay it down. I assume most carry some debt and we all just pay the interest.

Totally worth it. You're talking $36 here! 😉
Yup! Apple Card is what I use every time I buy an Apple product.

3% back is great!

24 months at 0% is OK for upgrades every other year but if they offered 12 months at 0% - I'd be upgrading every year! o_O

I’m a paycheck-to-paycheck, trailer-renting mom. But every couple years I buy the newest ProMax. Aside from an iPad mini, my phone is my main computer, my camera for photos and videos, my way to keep in touch with family and friends. I work hard and would rather prioritize funds for the phone than higher end clothing, shoes, eating out, or beauty services. And we get good use of it because the phones I buy every 2 years get 6 years of use (2 years for me, then 2 years for my mother, then 2 more years for my daughter). Nothing wrong with paying money for an amazing tool which greatly enhances your life.
