Surprised by how many of you choose the shipping option. If you have an Apple or carrier store nearby it is a far less stressful experience IMO.
I disagree....I did the chaos of an in-store pickup on launch day once and I really hated it (took about an hour to do). Much easier to just have UPS bring it straight to me.

(especially because I do the iPhone Upgrade program and it's nice to transfer everything at my own pace instead of doing it in store)

Same for me. Plus, easier to have it shipped to me directly since I work. I could take my lunch to get it, but meh...

Eh, I prefer taking my trade in TO THE STORE and actually having it taken care of right away. Had issues more than once on mailing in a trade in.

I picked 8AM store pickup, it wasn't available when I finalized order and kept getting errors for store pickup. If I get the option to hold at UPS (doubtful), I will do that.

No big deal, I will be home.

Agreed! UPS stole both of my family’s iPhone 14 PM during last year’s trade in. Lost in California. But even before that it was highly suspect, the UPS store employee claimed they couldn’t give me a receipt for the drop off and it never scanned in until California (states away) and then immediately went dark again. This year I’ll be taking my trade in to an Apple Store and save the gift card for next year.

Preordered the black titanium 256gb 16 pro max on AT&T. I have the white 256gb 15 pro max... I just like getting the new device every year. I don't know if I am going to miss the white color or not.... I hope not.

At my local Apple store I am in and out in about 20 minutes usually. I don't have to wait to pick up as I have a reservation. I just switch the eSIM in-store and trade-in my old iPhone on the spot. I restore from an iCloud backup once I get home.

They're probably more popular with Apple obsessives that preorder the new devices the instant they are available. Doesn't mean much for the general population.
My family thinks I'm nuts for staying up to pre order. I'm like...but but if I wait, I'll have to wait until October maybe! I can't do that...I can't! They just look at me like I'm crazy. Is it my OCD? are we all OCD here? I get to the theater first too, have to have first choice of seats. Sometimes I drive separate because nobody else seems to care, so I'm the designated seat saver. I think we all might be a little off😜

I also do iUP and pickup at the store... you don't need to do the transfer right on the spot, you can bring your old phone back later (even days later). I do this every year.

Yeah, I have never had to do in-store setup. In and out in a few minutes.

Update: tried to call Apple regarding the not being able to use my account balance thing. The rep I got basically wasn't able to help me - I'll try again on my lunch break to see if I have better luck.

A little ridiculous that I have the balance there, but can't use it.
You’re not going to have better luck. IF you are doing financing you cannot combine account balance and financing. The ONLY way you can do that is if you pay full price then it allows it. I had confirmed this with Apple last week.

Did you guys feverishly refresh the page, or let it automatically come up like it asked us to? LOL I couldn't let myself just stare at the screen so I kept closing the app and relaunching it. Was in and finished by 5:04
iPad kept showing "stay on this page and we will let you in" or something. iPhone went thru immediately.
