Alright order placed for pickup on the 20th! 16 Pro 256 White, grabbed a pair of the new airpods 4 anc also.
Technically, they will start shipping to the US over the weekend, but your order status usually won't show as shipped until around two days before arrival.
Getting major FOMO. This is the first year I skipped on upgrading to the newest iPhone. I’ve upgraded every year since the 5s. I just didn’t see a compelling reason to upgrade from my 15 Pro Max. Good luck to everyone who pre-ordered and I’ll (maybe) see you all next year!
Our truck is our only debt and the only reason I didn’t pay it off earlier rather than continuing payments is I’m getting way more interest on CDs and even Apple savings vs the 2% interest on the truck…. And it will be paid off in 4 weeks! So nope! No debt! House paid, other car paid, pay credit cards as the post to the account! Paid outright for phone via bet store…..

We‘ve picked up phones in the store in the past and they haven’t opened them.

YES, UPS will allow you to switch to HOLD... it WILL NOT allow you to change the delivery address. Sorry for the confusion.
I’ve always gotten both, but it’s usually just 3% for Apple Card purchases… the 6% is limited to some seasons and some companies products.
Ah, here are my people! I skipped last year’s launch; first time I’ve ever skipped a new launch. So I’m pretty excited to be in the club this year. I ordered a black 256 GB Pro Max via the Apple app and will receive it on 9/20.
Smoothest process I’ve ever had, I got my pre-order all set up yesterday. And all I had to do today was click pay.

Placed an order around 5:04 AM. Apple Store app was annoying this year. It was not letting me in on my iPhone. After a few times, it let me in on the iPad, which I used to check out. Using ACMI was a much better experience this year.
I should be getting it on Friday, Sept 20th. I can't wait till it goes preparing to ship.

With the appt times, it hasn’t been an issue for us picking up in store…. Other than the hour drive to get there! At least I get to have chick fil a for brekki!!!!!! We just take the phones and go….
I mean I prefer release day delivery…. But when I can’t get it…. The store it is! Then I’ll go back next weekend and trade in our current phones!

This was almost a decade ago. Not sure why they needed to open it but they did. I just feel the less human interaction with my tech toys the better lol
6%? I used my reg CC got back 3% thought that was all Apple Card gave back. Guess I should signed up for one, it just gets to the point I didn't want another card.
Apple.com order got in 9 min after pre-order started and did the pre-order setup earlier in the week.
Got the 1TB black titanium pro max and ship date was in October 2-7th and my carrier is T-Mobile.
Seems like they didn’t have a lot of supply for that model as less than ten min after preorder started the ship date was already in October.
Edit: four hours after pre-orders started the website is showing Oct 7-14 so in 9 min it went to October 2nd then four hours later October 7th. Kinda weird.

Usually the shipping info on Apple's site is way behind UPS reporting of every move from China to Louisville (SDF).
Apple will report "shipped" when UPS prepares its movement out of Louisville to your local UPS airport on Thursday for Friday delivery.
Many people here freak out when other people in this thread are chatting about what flight their phones might be on out of Asia, or that they haven't yet cleared customs, or not yet arrived in SDF after leaving ANC two days ago, while Apple still says "preparing" or some such thing. lol
I was in the same boat. Didn’t want to wait till October so went with store pick up. I’ve never done store pickup and happy to hear you can just take them and leave and not do the set up there. 😄
I had things set up but then like an idiot I hit refresh and everything was lost. So all I had to do was click pay on the window I left open? dang. It didn't matter I guess, I still got the order in at 2 minutes after it opened up. It's all good.
