We are a country in massive debt. I carry more than I should, I know I should just pay it down. I assume most carry some debt and we all just pay the interest.
My wife (who is a business journalist covering the industry) tells me about 50% of people are Revolvers (carry credit card debt) and about 50% are Transactors (pay off balance each month). Of course this doesn’t include auto loans, student loans, mortgages, etc. which to a great extent can’t be avoided unless you are extremely wealthy, but you do have more personal choice with regard to how you handle credit cards.

I disagree....I did the chaos of an in-store pickup on launch day once and I really hated it (took about an hour to do). Much easier to just have UPS bring it straight to me.

(especially because I do the iPhone Upgrade program and it's nice to transfer everything at my own pace instead of doing it in store)

I've done both. I used to hate having to stand in line in the days before the online ordering was available. I remember one year — 3GS maybe? — that I got the last phone that was available and everyone behind me in line pretty much hated my guts. I was happy to switch to delivery instead. But lately I've seen too many stories about people mailing in their trade-in and having it not accepted. So now I'm back to going into the store.

Besides, I find it amusing in a dark and snarky way to watch the people who think they can just walk into an Apple store on launch day and buy exactly the phone they want... or any phone, for that matter. The arguments they have with the Apple gate keepers are pretty funny.

Agreed! UPS stole both of my family’s iPhone 14 PM during last year’s trade in. Lost in California. But even before that it was highly suspect, the UPS store employee claimed they couldn’t give me a receipt for the drop off and it never scanned in until California (states away) and then immediately went dark again. This year I’ll be taking my trade in to an Apple Store and save the gift card for next year.

I had a UPS person tell me they couldn't give me a receipt. I took my package back and went to a different UPS store that would give me a receipt with no question. I could see the writing on that wall. And that was the last time I did a mail-in trade in.

Just ordered 8:50 AM PST via the AT&T site, estimated delivery 9/20. I was pleasantly surprised because the Apple site had my delivery in the first week of October.

Getting the 16 Pro 512 GB White, doing the ATT trade-in thing for my 13 Pro 512 Blue.

I’ve never tried with Apple this with an apple order . I assume they will use FedEx. Do they usually allow a hold at location option if I won’t be home during delivery times?

At my local Apple store I am in and out in about 20 minutes usually. I don't have to wait to pick up as I have a reservation. I just switch the eSIM in-store and trade-in my old iPhone on the spot. I restore from an iCloud backup once I get home.
Do they give you the option to just take your unopened box home and do everything yourself? I don’t want to mess around with any of that in store.

Don’t you get the 3-6% spiff AND the Apple Card financing? I always get some big cash credit (the spiff) and then the full amount is of course financed.

Isn't it one or the other? Has my entire life been a lie?

I'm not too fussed - between my account balance and trade in my total is like $200. Not bad for a brand new phone!

Looks like it's already switched to "Order in Progress"

I had two dates fail and finally got one.

I don’t think UPS will allow iPhone pick ups any longer per apples request
Yeah, I didn't think they would.

I didn't even have the option to click store pickup after the error.

Not surprising. I actually MAKE money on my cards as I have numerous 5% rotating categories and Costco card for 4% back on gas.
