Ordered two Pro Max 1TB phones through the Veteran's store. Saved me $340 vs buying through the regular store! Apple Card cash back is worth another $90 or so off. Sweet!

Delivery date is on my birthday (;

Card has been charged and order is "preparing for shipment".

REALLY GLAD that I do not have to go to the store on launch day. It's about 20 minutes from home and I bet it will be a total zoo too.

Why go to the store if you don't have to? Ugh!!

I had things set up but then like an idiot I hit refresh and everything was lost. So all I had to do was click pay on the window I left open? dang. It didn't matter I guess, I still got the order in at 2 minutes after it opened up. It's all good.

After I finished setting up pre-order, I got an email telling me I had done so and it had a link to “view your phone.” I clicked that link, it took me into Apple Store app to the “almost ready” page, and it automatically refreshed when store was available, with order already entered and a “pay” button. Couldn’t have been any easier!

Usually the shipping info on Apple's site is way behind UPS reporting of every move from China to Louisville (SDF).

Apple will report "shipped" when UPS prepares its movement out of Louisville to your local UPS airport on Thursday for Friday delivery.

Many people here freak out when other people in this thread are chatting about what flight their phones might be on out of Asia, or that they haven't yet cleared customs, or not yet arrived in SDF after leaving ANC two days ago, while Apple still says "preparing" or some such thing. lol

Truth.

You will get your phone when Apple says you will get it, regardless of what the "current status" shows along the way. In all of my experience ordering on launch day, only one time was my phone late. It was the iPhone 7 (2016), delivered one day late. The delay was due to a major typhoon across the entire Southeast Asia land mass. UPS was forced to keep their planes grounded until the storm passed.

Anyone for in store pick up say that the order is in progress as opposed to simply order placed? Mine says it’ll be ready for in store pick up now on the For You page but doesn’t say in progress when I click on it.

Definitely a slower turn out so far this year. I wasn't able to get around to my preorder until nearly 9am and still received a 9/20 launch date for a 128GB 16 Pro in black titanium! Always love this time of year, good luck y'all!

Did I make the mistake of selecting ISPU instead of delivery?

I think I'm going to miss the flight tracking and the anxious worrying about when my iPhone will be delivered lol

Agree. This was the same experience for me. It was the smoothest iPhone preorder I have had, and I have been through quite a few on preorder day right at 5:00am PDT.

Getting major FOMO. This is the first year I skipped on upgrading to the newest iPhone. I’ve upgraded every year since the 5s. I just didn’t see a compelling reason to upgrade from my 15 Pro Max. Good luck to everyone who pre-ordered and I’ll (maybe) see you all next year!

I think sticking with the 15 Pro Max is logical - there really aren't any big headlining changes for it other than 0.2" more screen space and a new chip. Even the 15 Pro at least saw the 5X telephoto added.

My order placed at 8:05 am for 256 PM in desert titanium for in store pickup on the 20th is still at “order placed” and no charge showing on Apple Card yet.

Had a few issues with my order but was finally able to get it resolved.. only to have a Oct 2-7 date instead of 9/20.. tried to do store pickup but none available. I guess I’ll keep checking to see if one pops up and if it does, I’ll cancel my order

They usually have some reserved store stock that becomes available the morning of launch day, so check the site then and there should be some stock that comes available for your store. It's usually right around 8am ET when that happens.

A couple years ago I got an October ship date on my preorder and I was able to end up placing an order on launch day for an in store pickup that weekend so I was able to get it sooner.

Apparently apple increase initial orders from suppliers by 10-15% overall, so we might have more available supply than last year.

Got a 9/20 delivery date on 16 Pro Max in Natural Titanium.

Waiting at 8 am, the page refreshed letting me in at 8:04.
A great experience this year!

In the past I recall having to refresh the page or app and not being let in until 16 mins and not getting launch day.
One year I remember pre orders opened at 3 AM eastern time.

My  clear MagSafe case came a few days ago, looks great! I can see the case is slightly bigger than my 14 Pro Max.

Looking forward to tracking our iPhones with all!

Anyone else use gift cards with the order that didn’t seem to go through and are now showing in the new Apple Account in the wallet app?

Did you order for pick up? Mine is showing the same thing. I also see the full amount charged to my card already. From my perspective, it could resolve itself during pickup.

In-store process looks a bit different. It will change to the processing phase in the next 3-4 days or so. Ready for pickup will kick in the day before pick-up. This has been the pattern for the past several years. Don't sweat it.
