Wow, Apple isn't having any problems moving these things. I wonder if we are gonna get a pre Christmas memory bump? Maybe I'll wait.

Congrats to all who got the early pre-orders. :D

yes and if they do start selling these for a lot of money i might b tempted to sell mine and wait for this bump. :D

What truly blows my mind is that they've sold this many without people even seeing one in "the flesh". This thing had better completely blow people away when it gets in their hands, given their expectations, or Apple will have a hard time selling the next version. There is a downside to having too much hype.

How is that different than every other product release of theirs, including the iPhone launch, the iPad launch, etc? It's a pretty safe bet at this point that it's going to be a good product.

Incorrect. Maybe on yours but mine doesnt say anything of the sort....

In the preorder confirmation I saw, it was in the grey-on-grey language underneath the regular e-mail (where it talks about the copyright, etc.). Is there *not* something similar in your grey-on-grey language?

FedEx offers exceptions if you're not home. Contact fedex or go to their website. Find where they can drop it off without needing a signature. A bit risky, but much more easier.

You cannot imagine how many times i've sat in my house waiting on a package and then I get a status update saying "RESCHEDULED:NOBODY HOME". I've called dispatch a few times and had the driver turn around and try again but sometimes they don't.

how can it be $299 in the states and then be £599 in the UK? - Jobs you're having a laugh!! £599 = $888

Im starting to lose all faith in this company!!!

RIP OFF

Sigh...

If you read the US site

Can I buy an iPhone without an AT&T contract?
No. iPhone requires a two-year AT&T wireless service contract.

With a 2 year contract the iPhone is £280 in the uk

The £599 price is unlocked, contract free

The math breakout on a $1,000 electronics item sold on eBay is about $80 of fees, after PayPal. Assuming you offer free shipping, tack on another $20 after you insure the package, etc.

So if you get a no-commitment iPhone from a place like Best Buy, which is selling the 32GB at $699 (says so on the flyers they gave out for those who preordered) - that's a $200 profit. And who's to say that the going rate is $1K...could be more.

Yes, there are risks, but smart eBay sellers should do fine.

My fiance and I reserved for the 3Gs launch. We got there around 6:20 after grabbing coffee. There were two lines, one for walk ups, one for reservations. They had a list of our names and crossed off our names as we got in line. There were about 30 in the walkup line and we were 3rd in the preorder line. When the store opened it was: 10 reservations to 1 walk in. It was very smooth.

Imagine what a white 4g would bring on launch day on eBay. Yikes!

So it sounds like note everyone got the same email?
One would think there are two different emails.

Pre-order: gives price, charge, and ship info (299 for 32gb, etc)
Reserve: tells you you can pick one up, and presumably tells you 599(?) because the didn't verify you're upgrade/new service

I pre-ordered and don't have more than a sentence or two a saying Ill get an email when it ships. I don't have that whole "first come first served" bs down there.

It's not all bad standing in line chatting with people.

Franklynrecords gives British people a bad name.

After the E-bay fees and maybe PayPal fees, it won't be as much as you think even IF you find someone who would pay 1K. Then, you are also running the risk of the buyer coming back later and saying he didn't receive the phone and chargeback on your account (seller protection isn't THAT foolproof btw).

Too much risk for the return. Good luck and I hope you get all the money you deserve for robbing someone else of an iPhone on June 24.

Please don't accuse ME of selling my iPhone. I am going to use my iPhone myself.
Anyway, the capatalists (what this country is founded upon) have not "robbed" anyone of their phones.

What if....

I've always been leery of being an early adopter. I really want an iPhone, but I think I can be patient enough to see how many bugs are discovered during the first few days of activation and use.

you know what will suck?

Activation Day when all of these phones come in everyone knows AT&T's servers will fail yet again!

I only intended to purchase one

Those of you who are buying multiple phones only to sell them and profit, jump off a bridge. Thanks.

You only make it harder for the others that actually want one.

Well I only wanted to spend my hard earned money on one, but with the system glitches I was charged 299+tax from att for one and 299+tax from apple for one and both for a single line  they have already charged my card  for them and both have a delivery date of the 24th :D . I didn't plan on buying any for selling but looks like I will sell the extra one for at least what I paid for it, but I might just sit on it for awhile to see if they retroactively charge me more for one of them.

They do not make exceptions for Direct Signature required deliveries such as Apple Products. I have tried many times, but I end up at the depot at the end of the day picking up my package.

Whole lotta shaken goin on

This a lot of sales for a network that cannot even work with the present phone.

What will the next year bring to AT&T? Total destruction?
