U2 is my favorite band - haters can hate all they want, but tomorrow is going to be an AWESOME day for me!

Product (RED) iWatch? Anybody?

I read through the forums and nobody suggested it.

What if U2's appearance wasn't about music but about HEALTH? The wearable as a fitness device, a health device. HIV/AIDS is a serious health issue. What if every iWatch gave proceeds to Product (RED) and The Global Fund from the very beginning? That would be a pretty cool statement. Doesn't mean it has to be red in color.

But U2 will probably perform anyway to end the show.

They are going to play 'Significant apart' in Apples event, but they're not significant or relevant to anything.

Alright then. I'm not the multimillion dollar company.

Sick feeling in my stomach now.

If true, I think Apple has finally "jumped the shark".
Maybe. But probably not. "Jumping the shark" doesn't mean an event the some people don't like. If it did, then Apple jumped the shark with the release of the first iPhone. And the second one. And every keynote speech. Ever.

Are you really going on record as saying that "Apple is Doomed!?"

Here's betting that U2 have done more for the world than ALL OF YOU PUT TOGETHER, financially and with their own time. Now, I bet that's why you "hate" U2, because you're just bitter and cynical, and complaining and "hating" is way easier than having a balanced, objective approach with informed opinions which are not based on personal biases.

It may be "cool" to hate those who everyone else says they "hate", but listen up folks - it's time to get a life and think for yourselves.

Instead of sitting around fawning over unreleased products, they ARE out there doing good - when did you do the same?

Probably not once.

It's cool if you're a big U2 fan. Really, no one's judging.

Are people forgetting that Bono and Steve Jobs were good friends, U2 was associated with the iPod in 2004, the Foo Fighters closed out the September 2012 event and other musicians have closed other events, so none of this is new. Also if the rumor is true that Steve had a long term plan that Apple is still working off of then he may have had this (some form of it) planned before his departure.

Guess what I am saying is, who cares?! The event is about the new product and I am excited about that!!

Most reasonable comment so far.

This is really way out in left field.....but I'm going to mention it anyway.

Maybe U2 themselves are not going to be there at the event....but their music will. Eh? There is an up-and-coming young singer named Jackie Evancho who is bringing out a new album on September 23rd. Among other songs, she covers U2's "With Or Without You" and does it beautifully and differently. (I haven't heard the album yet but did hear all of the songs when Jackie was taping her PBS special at Longwood Gardens.) Interestingly enough on Jackie's Twitter or Facebook today she told followers to watch for a big surprise from her tomorrow....

When I saw that mentioned somewhere else, I'd just finished catching up with MR so I still had U2, the Apple event tomorrow and everything else floating around in my head. All of a sudden it all kind of gelled and I said, "Whoa! What if----??"

Probably not going to happen but it sure would be very interesting if it does.

I guess that's what the white building is for, it's a stage for a concert

Ahh come on. You've been around long enough to know that structure isn't a stage. Why hide a stage ? What is the logic behind hiding a stage and having security go to the extreme to keep anyone from snapping a photo of a stage ?

Makes no sense whatsoever.
