Apple screen issues....*sigh*. This is something that shouldn't happen on any of their products. Especially at such a high rate with differing products.

i cannot believe this is happening again. my 3gs had a horrible yellow tint and i had to replace it for a not so tiny new one. it still wasn't nearly as good as my original 3g.

i'm gonna be so upset if my new phone is affected, especially after all this hoopla over the new screen. if they can't come up with a way to fix this issue after 3 years, i can take my money elsewhere

But you won't

My friend at work just got his via FedEx and he has a yellow blob. I'm not leaving the Apple store tomorrow without a perfect iPhone 4. It's not too much to ask.

I had to replace my 3g FOUR TIMES because it started with dust under the screen. The find a way to fix the dust (fused screen) but now we have yellow blobs LOL

Ok when I buy my phone at Apple tomorrow, I'm inspecting it before I leave. What is the best way to tell if there is a brown/yellow spot on my screen?

I just called Apple. I have a case about this. They said they will replace the phone (as expected) when things settle down . I am gonna wait a month and go into a apple store and exchange it.

looks like these guys...

I think

Got my phone a day early! Came complete with yellow polka dots on the screen. Guess I have a tester until Apple replaces it! I wonder if I should even bother putting my invisible shield on it?

Does it even really matter? It's not like you'll be doing anything on the phone that requires the color to be absolutely correct. iMacs I can understand but this is just being nitpicky.

Come on now. Have you seen the pics? It looks terrible and I'm not the one who coined it the retina display and it's so great, etc. This is not being nitpicky by any means on a $600 phone.

If I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on a device that will be integrated into almost every aspect of my life, I don't want to see discoloration on the screen.

Damn now I'm terrified to get my iPhone :p. If I recall, the yellow-tint issue had a similar effect on people on the forums. You've also got to remember that when people have problems with a device they'll come on here to post about it or find topics like this and join others who have the same problem. Those people who have perfectly fine iPhone 4's with no yellow spots probably aren't even on the forums right now...... They're probably busy enjoying their new iPhones lolz

Xanadeath

I am crapping my pants now.

I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...I WILL GET A GOOD ONE...

If I don't I'm going to try one in-store swap and if that doesn't work then I'm going to get a full refund and I'll try again in September.

I have a feeling 80% of displays will be like this.

You are standing under florescent tubes which, depending on color temperature, can easily lend a yellow cast to white surfaces.

Have you tried viewing it under other lighting conditions, like outdoors?

Mark

I feel like that would only be an explanation if the entire screen had a yellow cast. People are talking about very specific areas of their displays.
