Are there any 4k thunderbolt monitors that support 120hz?

Also, do we think apple will ever offer a consumer level display?

Would need to Google it personally but I think most I’ve seen at 60Hz at 4k. Saw some Samsung ultra wide (not at 4k) with higher refresh rates.

I’ve been trying to find a half decent monitor that works with Mac for a while. What do you guys all use? I guess ideally I’d like to clamshell the mbp plug in a lead and it all just works.

I suppose a thunderbolt one may be a good shout so it has some ports for peripherals? Or maybe a thunderbolt dock would be better?

Would ideally like 27” not fused on refresh rate but decent quality panel would be good

Oh ?

I’ve traded in phones at apple but only instore where they just discount the cost of the new phone. I’m always very untrustworthy of postal companies incase it “arrived damaged “

I feel like it’s a bit risky, they might reject it (disastrous if it affects my order) or go with a lower offer (not great but not a dealbreaker).

I have no idea when I’ll receive the packaging, I guess before the new Mac arrives. At the same time as the new MBP with a partial refund to follow is the ideal.

I’m struggling too. Want an ultra wide with 2 TB inputs so I can do picture by picture.

Ideally want to use my personal and work machine in clamshell and the universal control when it lands in Monterey to have single keyboard and mouse between them

I had zero budget for an external monitor but needed a replacement for the aging 1080p I had. I managed to snag an Acer XV280K through work which has been surprisingly good.

@Jinjin as you’re the oracle what time is it to check the online store on release morning?

I can’t be naffed to trawl through the iPhone thread. I think it’s 6AM?

Haha it is 6am for iPhones at least. Expect it to be the same for macs if any are available

Stock 16”
Here's a bold prediction.... (but this is just a theory, so please don't get too excited in case i'm completely wrong...)

Yours, being a stock one, but ordered too late for UK stock, was due to be shipped direct from China, hence the wide ranging delivery date... but due to cancellations, got moved to be UK stock as more became available here.

If that's the case, you can understand why it's still processing, as they're working through all the ones with a fixed date of Tuesday first, then will trigger your payment and dispatch once ours are all shipped - so long as capacity allows at syncreon and with delivery partners. Your wider date range means it's not an issue (for Apple) if they end up dispatching a day late.

I'd guess that will happen all on Monday (Payment, PTS, Dispatch) for delivery Tuesday if that's the case.

I've got a 27" LG which is 4K and I've very pleased with it in terms of image quality and I can use a single cable to connect to my laptop.

I'm either going to buy a second one, or move to a single 34" (ish) ultra wide.

Of course, the ideal situation would be for Apple to release a "consumer" version of the XDR.

Edited.... Or just switch to having a 16" MBP on my desk and seeing how that goes on its own. Dammit... Why haven't Apple invented a laptop that morphs between two sizes depending on your need at the time??

Anyone who is PTS have a charge on their card? I had the auth for the full amount straight after placing the order but they dropped off a few days ago now. Will have to stalk the statement to see if it appears again

Do you have a link for it please? Does it have a USB hub on it too?

It depends how you pay (and i think maybe even your account status, ie: have you bought things recently with that card).

For me, Apple check the card is valid/active with a £0.00 charge when I paid by Apple Pay, then 30m before PTS they auth'd the full amount, then will capture the full amount as it's scanned before dispatch.

If they auth'd the full amount for you after the order, you skip that middle step before PTS, then they'll capture at dispatch like normal. Auth charges drop off after a time set by your bank if not captured, but can still be captured for a significant amount of time after that.

I have a 27" Dell u2711 at home which does 2560x1440 via DP but only HD via HDMI. At work, I have a 4k 27" LG which I like a lot. I might get myself a 32" 4k LG Ergo, or produce something similar with another 32" monitor and a Vivo arm. I've been mailing with Vivo about my specific table and they've been extremely helpful.

The huawei mateview monitor looks (aesthetically) pretty sweet!

I saw this a while back when it was on offer for around 399.99 with a free tablet. Was hovering over the buy button however deal expired while I was dithering!

Not sure also as it only looks like video inputs is via HDMI or Mini DP?

Yes, it has a couple of USB-A ports on it so I have a webcam and Ethernet adapter plugged in. Resolution is 3840 x 2160 which works well with the MBP. I've always liked LG panels and have found them to work well with Macs.

LG seem to change their model numbers a lot and have different ones depending on what country they're for... they also seem to frequently change them too!

I think it is a LG 27UK650-W but might be the UL850.

If you go to the LG page you can filter by various things - they seem to make so many different versions of screens with slight differences, but have a decent selection in terms of price for 27 - 31.5".

USB-C x 1 (supports display, data transfer, and 65W max. charging power*)

I have the LG27UD88, which is a few years old. It’s been replaced by the LG27UL850 which seems almost identical.

4K 60Hz. Supports HDMI, USB-C and disable port, and provides power, though only around 60W from memory. Has a couple of built in USB-A 2.0 ports. And it’s not daisy-chainable. So not a perfect monitor, but a good picture and only around £310.

They’ve got an ultra wide (mateviewGT) but it only has a single TB input
Ultrawide vertical is a bit extreme ? I think 16:9 vertical is already not bad.
