Yes that might be a challenge!

I feel like it’s a bit risky, they might reject it (disastrous if it affects my order) or go with a lower offer (not great but not a dealbreaker).
I have no idea when I’ll receive the packaging, I guess before the new Mac arrives. At the same time as the new MBP with a partial refund to follow is the ideal.
Doh! missed thatUSB-C x 1 (supports display, data transfer, and 65W max. charging power*)
Is it too early to start thinking about docks for these new machines? I’d guess i would like something Thunderbolt compatible with various outputs. It sure if the power requirements for the new laptops mean current dock designs need to be updated.
More early leaks of the 16”
Having spent some time looking around at the cost of 4K ultrawides, I think I might just add a second one of these to be honest.I have the LG27UD88, which is a few years old. It’s been replaced by the LG27UL850 which seems almost identical.
4K 60Hz. Supports HDMI, USB-C and disable port, and provides power, though only around 60W from memory. Has a couple of built in USB-A 2.0 ports. And it’s not daisy-chainable. So not a perfect monitor, but a good picture and only around £310.
They send you the trade in packaging after they deliver your new MacBook according to the website (either when you place your order or on your order details, I can't remember which!)
Pretty sure the only word I understood in that was “Touch Bar” ???More early leaks of the 16”
So what we all going for?
I think for me the ideal would be 14” with 32gb ram however as it pushes it so close to the 16” on price I could be tempted….
I’m thinking there’s more chance of me getting the 16” in store than the 14” BTO
Unless you have used one of the M1 macbooks already I think you will be surprised how good these are. I replaced a mid spec 16" MBP with an M1 macbook pro and the M1 absolutely smoked it for all my use cases.I went for the higher spec Max 14” with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
I have a way more powerful desktop PC and getting a 16“ would have been a bit of a waste.

If you have a look at the listings for non-Apple Stores, it looks like you'll be able to pick up the 32GB 16" model from lots of places, but the only 14" options will be 512GB/1TB SSD, both with 16GB RAM.
Still not found anywhere actually taking guaranteed orders for next week - my brother is getting nervous! Not entirely sure how this has now become my problem!
Just noticed Amazon have the 16” 32gb ? 5 payments tooIf you have a look at the listings for non-Apple Stores, it looks like you'll be able to pick up the 32GB 16" model from lots of places, but the only 14" options will be 512GB/1TB SSD, both with 16GB RAM.

You certainly can. It’s a bit off putting for me but then again I’ve always been tragically shallow. Can really see the difference in thickness between new and old!
