Which Model are you getting?

I picked up my MBP last Tuesday from store. As I said at the time, I'm more than impressed.

Today I booted up my Late 2016 MBP to wipe it and get ready for sale. Oh my God, how awful is the keyboard?! Even the trackpad has a pretty poor 'click.'

I knew the new models were a step up but I didn't quite realise how big the difference was until I went back.

UPS, FedEx, DHL they are all rubbish when compared to the top dog DPD!

While I do love DPD, am I right in saying they only
Deal with deliveries within the UK?

I’m sure shipping from China is a completely different ball game…

PS got let down by UPS, and now my DHL tracking for my watch is completely useless as well…

DPD and other UK couriers have partnerships with global logistics companies (which you've probably never heard of.)

They do have the capability of dealing with shipping directly from certain parts of the far east, and the whole wraparound (e.g. tracking) would be branded as DPD. Big companies like Apple don't tend to use those country-specific services. It's more geared for eBay and Amazon Marketplace sellers based in the UK but shipping directly from their manufacturers in China.

What model? My order for a 16" for 9 - 16th hasn't budged.
The December date was when it was originally scheduled for. It’s got bumped up the next day to November.

Get on and moan at apple.
Texted them yesterday, very nice customer service but they’re relying on what ups is telling them, which is bs really…
Apple has requested an update on the location of the parcel, unfortunately in vain…

Two calls to UPS later (expensive calls too!) and it's now being delivered to a nearby shop for collection.

So irritated that the driver can't seem to figure out the entirely standard entryphone system to my apartment block. Supposedly two deliveries attempted - I rather suspect the real number is zero.

I ordered the 16" M1Pro 16GB 1TB yesterday from Amazon next day delivery because I caved and wanted it now. The Royal Mail tracking is showing as being sent from their DC in Preston to their Northern Ireland DC.

I live in Dorset - Gah!

Anyone had a shipment email from TheEduStore yet? Apparently they ship with ParcelForce and you usually get a text regarding it before any sort of email from them
I was wondering if anybody who ordered from TheEduStore has received their machines yet.
I'm thinking of ordering with them but a bit unsure if they can be trusted?

Personally, I wouldn’t. They are completely non-committal about when they will be getting stock, take forever to respond to emails, have no phone number.

When I had to return an iPad mini to them it took an age to get it arranged and 3 weeks later I am still waiting for a refund. I did make an order for the new MBP with them but then cancelled it and went straight to apple instead. It took them an age and countless emails from me to get them to cancel the order. Their prices are great, but it simply isn’t worth the hassle.

Have a moan again, it’s apple you are buying from not UPS. If their chosen courier is having issues, it’s apples problem to deal with. I’d moan and say you want compensation for time you’ve had to take off to be at home to wait around for deliveries that don’t turn up! Throw in how much a valued customer you are and it’s tarnishing your experience of using them etc.. they might throw something your way! Or they might do sod all

My work machine it’s the 16” intel and the noise coming off this thing is crazy! The fans running and all I have open is ms office apps and teams atm!

The 14” sitting there in silence

I noticed when I looked at the TrustPilot reviews there were a few recent reviews where people said they had taken delivery of 2021 mbps already. I was a bit surprised by that given the lead times they are quoting, and wondered if any body in here had had one off them.

the in-store BTO refund complete.. I've had the apple vouchers sent back to me now so they'll sit around in my wallet until next year. Now just waiting for the card company to reflect the refund on the card.

Apple Watch related, but thought I’d ask here:
Anyone having issues getting a return label when returning a product?
Initiated my watch return on Thursday, and every time I try to “View Return Label and Instructions” keep getting an error message (screenshot).
Contacted support who told me they were having issues with some return return labels, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem?

Thanks for the reply! If I have some time during the weekend might drop it off at my local Apple Store, as apparently online orders can now be returned to their stores?

Returning my Midnight aluminium, colour never quite convinced me, and the Space Black Titanium was too hard to resist… might be arriving this Friday, but DHL tracking hasn’t moved since 30/10…

Indeed. I occasionally do some video transcoding in Handbrake. On my 2016 model, that used to set the fans off like crazy - even moreso that video editing or rendering. I haven't tried it on the new one yet but I'll be sure to give it a go. I know the 14" has to work a bit harder than the 16" to shift the heat but so far I haven't heard the fans spin up at all. Not even when playing Cities Skylines, which used to just hammer the CPU.

Returned my 14“ Max with 64gigs of RAM- sadly no Pro model in stock.
Annoyingly Apple refusing to refund the not-yet-delivered Pro Apps for Education bundle.…
@Jinjin I also got the base 14" with 1TB in silver today. Looks striking with the contrast between the unibody and the black keyboard.

Did you guys get Apple Care straightaway? Or waited until the 60th day so that coverage lasts for 3 years and 2 months?
