Aaaaah it's at the depot... but it's 7 miles away and I haven't got my car here. AAAAAAAAAAAH! Waiting until Monday will never have seemed so long.

walking:
15 mins per mile * 7 miles = 1.75 hours...

jogging is sure to decrease the time in half..

go on!!! you know it makes sense :D

my scheduled delivery from UPS is now on Tuesday (EINDHOVEN, BEST,
NL 31/10/2008 19:30 ORIGIN SCAN). I can't believe that I ordered on the 14th and will be getting it that late. I must contact someone!

Status must have updated yesterday:

"Current Delivery Status - Preparing handover to final carrier - 31 Oct 2008 "

Hopefully I get it sometime next week

Picked mine up from PC World today :D

My local store had zero stock (both were bought buy staff members) so had to travel 40 minutes to pick one up! 8 in stock in PC World Cardiff FYI!

Preparing handover to final carrier yesterday and today. Final carrier info to follow with tracking number...

My macbook was estimated 6th-7th Nov from the beginning. Outside chance it will be earlier by a day then :p

Hi guys,

My status has just changed from "Preparing handover to final carrier" back to "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule"

Now i'm guessing this means that it is in transit to the courier company that will then deliver it to my door? Based on others' experiences is that about right?

How long after changing to this should I get the tracking number for the actual courier. Hopefully cant be that long, although the closest courier depot is just as far away as the apple centre in hinckley so they should have just let me go there to pick it up.

thanks for any help

I'm hoping so, that would be awesome. Guess it depends on the courier and how nice you can be to them. Sure they will physically be open and surely it saves them time and money.

Keep updated on here if you get a tracking number. I dont have one yet

Estimated delivery date was the 31st on the tracking page british time, but the 4th with the apple email.

Got my tracking number but the carrier says UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER and the tracking number which is an 80 number doesnt work on TNT site...monday has never seemed so far away.

hi there
when you are on the tnt home page you have to make sure u have ticked customer reference number and not conisgnment number. if that still doesnt work call TNT worldwide and they can help you.

also as to NL distribution center it is one of the many stops that apples products make. as far as i am aware it is where many apple products merge ie if you have a macbook pro and and ipod they will merge there but dont quoute me onthat.

good luck with ur order i had to wait 17 days for mine and that was murder

just checked mine again and i now have TNT as my carrier and a new tracking number.....BUT the damn TNT site is down for maintenance...bad times.

damn it, mine still doesnt have a tracking number but i suppose it doesnt matter until the morning anyway.

does anyone know if tnt or ups depots allow pick up on a sunday???

Anyone else here order on the 24th? Mine has an estimated arrival date of 4th-5th November (Tues/Wed), but when I click 'Track this shipment' it says it might come on the 3rd (here's hoping). Anyone else order around this time.

Also, is it normal for macbooks to be sent from china rather than from within the UK, or is it just because they were recently updated?

Umm most of the time macs are sent from china, or whereever they happened to be made, to a warehouse or distribuation center.

Because these macs are new, they havnt been sent to the warehouse yet and so arnt sent straight from the warehouse. We have to wait for them to arrive at the warehouse and then theyre dispatched to eagerly awaiting customers.

i think thats right?

yes thats correct - the first leg of the delivery date is calculated based on the mb's production date, hence why it can be quite far off. The tracking number is when ups/dhl etc have the mb. Depending on which distribution hub it is sent to you can expect your mac *potentially* earlier

Enjoy your new mac
