apolgies i didn't answer your questions

i paired the new watch to the phone can't recall it saying anything when i did that

when unpairing the s3 it did say that the data plan would stop so assumed that meant for the s3 not the s5 i'll keep checking the data section and make sure its not disconnected i don't really go anywhere without my phone so i probably wouldn't notice if it did get disconnected but i'm not paying for something i'm not getting lol

Ok it just seems confusing as the data plans are linked to the EID number and that is normally done by EE. Maybe they have changed the way of doing it

Just seen the titanium up close as my local apple store finally has display models (though none for sale as no stock).

The titanium space black is more grey than black I’d say. The brushed metal looks gorgeous though so looking forward to Monday!

i've seen numerous people say on macforums they had to supply EE with the new EID but i've also seen posts on other forums where they didn't i suppose i'll find out come the weekend if the new watch is disconnected or later next month if they charge twice for the data plan.

I still think this upgrading to a new watch can be simplified by the data provider my experience has been good thus far but i know others haven't.

Has anyone here had a series 5 with a lose button that rattles? I just had to return my SBSS back to John Lewis for this reason and now they don’t have stock

Well my watch has arrived at Shanghai from Suzhou. Should be in Europe by the end of tomorrow

Looks like our are sharing a flight!

Not sure what this exception is in the ups app, the tracking details don’t show anything specific

I think (although I may be wrong) that Vodafone already have this set up. To add a watch to your account you have to add something they've called OneNumber to your account first (which takes care of the number sharing between the watch and the phone). If you then change the watch, I'm sure I read on their site that you can update the EID in the OneNumber settings.

an update almost 24 hrs later and my new watch is still connected i've just taken the bins out and nipped to the local shop everything was connected and and in the watch app mobile data section it does say EE connected.

I'm not sure how long it takes for the data plan to be cancelled if thats what still is going to happen but would assume something would have changed by now.

I would hope that if EE think i have taken out a new data plan i would get some form of communication from them but we all know how slow carriers can be with stuff like that.

coming from the series 3 the new watch is far better in looks and features the different watch faces are great battery life is alittle concerning though i've been up about an hour and its already at 89% is that normal ? i'll have to take my charger with me but i have 4 of them so i probably should leave one at work.
In comparison when i got the new watch it was 70% and 12 hours later when i went to bed it was just under 40%

i'm getting afew replacements bands today i pretty much used the same band day in day out on the series 3 wanting to try something different with series 5

Go on the EE app and you’ll be able to see your “lines” mine shows my iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad lines.

It also normally says what device it is so you should be able to differentiate

on the app it says series 5 watch with the same number as before earlier this week it said series 3 watch so assume its all worked and the plan has been transfered from one to the other.

I'll keep an eye on its only 5 pounds so if i see another plan charge i'll just phone to change it and get it refunded but it looks to me as though it has worked.

OK thats good news if you can move the data plan without calling EE. I will have to try that.
As for the battery drain, there are known issues. Some people are reporting no problems and others are struggling to make the battery last longer than 12 hours. It is thought that the culprit is WatchOS6. Beta OS6.1 is out and people are saying that the battery lasts longer on 6.1 but its not out for public release yet.
Having said that, as your watch is new, it will need a few days to settle down and reach its potential. Also it may be that your watch is syncing and installing your third party apps. People have switched of the noise monitoring and always on display and that helps to preserve battery life.
If I were you, I would power cycle the watch (Switch it off and back on again as that as helped some people), I would switch off the noise monitoring but keep the the Always on Display running and give it two or three days to settle down. If it still drains then get rid of any third party apps that you have running and see if battery life improves. Then reinstall those apps one by one each day monitoring the battery life. Watch OS6.1 may be out in a week or two and hopefully things will then be better

cheers for the info i'll see how the watch goes today it went down 10% in under an hour another 2 hours later its down another 7% i do have notifications going off email and texts etc all the time but my series 3 watch sometimes lasted nearly 2 full days.

yes i do have noise monitoring and always on active so if it continues throughout today i'll turn them off tomorrow i do charge it every day but sometimes forgot with the series 3.

i'll be happy if it lasts from 6am until 9pm but it should last alot longer hopefully

My series 3 would be 70-80% at bedtime (even with watchOS 6) but the new series 5 is down to 40-50%. That's still on target for Apple's claimed 18 hour battery life, though. I think the main culprit is probably AOD - I've turned it off today to see how much difference it makes.

post back when you have the results i'm sure in reviews i've watched it mentioned apple saying that turning off AOD didn't add anything significant to the battery life i do have the infograph face watch no idea if certain faces cause it to drain more than others.

Yeah, I've got infograph as well. I was going to try a different face if turning off AOD doesn't make much of a difference, just to see what happens. It wouldn't stop me using infograph, though...

third party bands have arrived they look very good for the money and will definately wear them i'm still waiting for the official apple bands i can now mix and match every day i can see myself getting quite afew over the next year.

are there any websites people use other than amazon/ebay to get third party ones ?

I tested the battery yesterday with the AOD on. In 14 hours the battery dropped to 44%. Today, I switched the AOD off and in 6 hours it has dropped to 88%. So working it out, yesterday, it lost 4% per hour with AOD on, today it has used 2% per hour with AOD off, also today I switched the screen brightness to full. So I am pretty sure it does make a difference, however, with AOD switched on it would still last a full day ( wake up to bedtime ).

Seeing similar with mine - after 5 hours it's still at 92%, and that's with 30 minutes of 4G connection. Definitely making a big difference.

I like to monitor my sleep so need it to last 24 hours between charges, ideally.
