UK Apple Watch S5 Pre-Order Thread

Had it on my S0 and S3 stainless steels

never used it on the S0, but a few months ago I smashed the screen on the S3... I was playing with dog in the garden and smashed my wrist against the corner of the house... felt a right idiot!

but with AppleCare it was very easy to get a replacement within a couple of days. For £49 the replaced the main watch.

sent me a new one with a £500-ish deposit hold on my CC, once they got the damaged one back, they released the hold on the card.

very easy and hassle free.

I get the impression that if I had taken it to an Apple Store they would have sent it away, rather than give me a new one.
 
Ok folks, I’ve been convinced - I’ll get Apple Care + too.

It’s £89 on the aluminium S5.
 
Argh, Apple have just tried to charge me and the payment failed, despite there being plenty of money in the account. I had exactly the same problem last year. Can’t call them to sort payment until he morning. They won’t cancel my order, will they?

Literally same thing for me. Says payment authorisation failed. Please contact card provider. Halifax have had some issues so they’re unable to do anything for me right now. Will have to contact them and Apple tomorrow. Same thing happens with iPhone X pre order, just called the bank and they sorted it out for me

don’t believe the order should be cancelled as the email i received says they’ll hold it for seven days and if there’s no payment then they will cancel the order.

After having to return 5 Garmin watches, I've bitten the bullet on a Series 5. Is there any chance of this date coming in or is it set in stone?

I find that Apple products do come in a bit rather than drift out. If you dont get it for the 20th, i'd be surprised if you didn't get it on Monday 23rd or so.
 
My S5 Aluminium Space Grey 40mm says expected delivery 26th September to 1st October.

Highly likely I’ll cancel this and pick it up from John Lewis if they have stock up online on Friday (next day click and collect).
 
I've ordered the GPS 44mm silver alminium Series 5 on the Apple Store, and opted for the Khaki Sport Loop using the Studio customisation options. I already have an S3 and have sold it for about £130 on eBay including its boring grey sport band LOL. I have a few alternative ones, both official and unofficial, so in a way I wish they would give us a cheaper option to get just the watch for people already in the watch band ecosystem... But the one I choose looks pretty smart!

Went for pickup at local Apple Store, a luxury of living in London, so all going well I can pick it up after work on Friday!
 
That was close. I took my series 2 into CEX for trade in. They reckoned it was a C grade when I was sure it was a B grade.
Told them I needed to think about it, went back 20 minutes later, saw a different staff member who offered me B grade price. Took it quick before they changed their mind.

What did you get if you don’t mind me asking? Also? Which model?
