Those who have ordered new MacBook Pro’s do enjoy them!!

Was going to order but I dont think I have even maximised M1 performance to its potential and would prefer its efficiency and battery life. Just wish it had smaller bezels.

Nope. Sticking with my pro’s. Although they seem to have been more flaky since iOS 15. For example out for a walk earlier on a call. Then when the call finishes I put some music on. Like 10-15 seconds later. The iPhone decided I’d like to listen through the external speaker. Why?

I had the same during a call. It would just randomly jump to the phone even though my AirPods were showing connected. I had to remove the AirPods from my ears and put them back in again and it reconnected one and not the other.....

Next years new air will be the one for you!
yeah that or the MacBook Pro 13" refresh (need the higher brightness) if it does stick around but do want the ProMotion display more than anything. Will hold on to it for several more years.

Do you guys actually need a MacBook? I mean, do you need the portability?

I’ve always used MacBooks but considering it never leaves my desk at all, and the fact that I use a Magic Mouse and keyboard with it too, an iMac just makes more sense for my use.

Thing is I actually use all four thunderbolt ports on my current system. I even find going to 3 TB ports will be a little limiting for me - and I use a TB4 dock as well! I have several TB drives that I like to use as well as a 10Gbe to TB adapter etc. So the next iMac update could be the one for me if it has all the ports I’m after…..

Unless I’m out of my office or home office, my 13” MBP is always connected to a pair of 27” monitors. Not a fan of glossy screens.

For home use I use a Mac mini.

Unfortunately I don't see the govt putting in placing any lockdowns or restrictions. They may relent to actual use of the covid passport system though. I went to RoI in September and I was shocked at how little you could do without showing proof of vaccination. Couldn't even book a table at a restaurant without proof. I thought it was amazing - and worrying that we don't have a proper system in place here.

I think the government is relying on the fact that, we the public, 'don't care' anymore and want to carry on with 'normal life'. Sadly, I think they're right. It's scary because it's clear that they're fine with the way they've handled, and continue to handle, the covid situation.
IMHO, they’ve been using propaganda to gaslight people, by keep using the phrase “We have to learn to live with it”.

People have ditched masks since “Freedom day”. ?

This government has been nothing short of criminal and inept during this pandemic and should have legal investigations in my view.

Just received my GoPro Hero 10..........now tempted to order the DJI Action 2 as well.........the things I do for YouTube reviews!!!!

I have that camera in the white. It’s a great camera and looks gorgeous!
Out of interest... did you put a protective screen on the rear screen? I have a tendancy to put digital cameras down flat on their backs ((D)SLRs sit up normally, of course), and my 11 year old Casio digital has a scratch on its rear screen that might have come from a metal zip in my jacket.

I'm slightly ashamed to say that I solved my camera dilemma by buying a second-hand Olympus Pen E-PL9 on eBay, in the limited edition denim blue (the black and silver one was my first choice - gorgeously retro, looking a bit like my late dad's Pen EE half-frame from the 1960s). It has a touchscreen interface (no viewfinder) but interchangeable lenses, shutter on top and built-in Bluetooth from transfering images. I'll let you know how I get on...

I’ve got a pen f and it’s really a lovely camera, even now so many people think it’s a film camera!

I wish the media and Labour would take your tact against the government. Frustrates me we don't have a proper opposition. At least in America you can see that the Dems have the ability to go blow for blow with the GOP

Not everyone has ditched masks. I still where one when I’m out.

Of course, so do I.

By contrast, I’m currently in Toronto (or Tronno as the locals say!) and the mask wearing is everywhere here.

People even wear than while out walking to shops etc.

I went to a local pub the other night and had to show proof of my vaccinations just to get in. ?

I love "Tronno", one of my favourite cities in the world. My late wife lived there (her sister still does) and we used to go there every year. We used to hire a car and travel all over the city. I used to joke that if someone over here in the UK asked me directions I wouldn't have a clue but I could direct anyone to a location in Toronto. Great city.

It’s a really cool city (in more ways than one obvs).

My buddy is taking me out tonight; Go Raptors. ? ?

We went up north over the weekend to see his aunt. A 4.5 hour trip to Summer Creek, I was gobsmacked at how beautiful it was.

I have four branches of the family over there, mostly in and around Toronto (Brampton and Scarborough, mostly); two uncles and an aunt on my dad's side, a step-grandmother's family on my mum's side. But I've only ever been over twice, as I hate flying. But did enjoy the waterfront, and Niagara Falls (but not the road trip, obvs) both times.

No, I haven't but I keep it in an Olympus draw string bag for protection.

So what's he general consensus on screen protectors??

Ive been using the ESR tempered glass screen protectors on mine, and have developed a bubble out of the blue under the screen?? Have no idea how its happened considering it was on perfect for the past month!!!

Any better alternatives (that go to the edge of the screen better maybe?), or should I just re-order ESR?

My ESR (the same as the one in the link), has been absolutely fine since release day, often don't even think about it - surprising as I absolutely hated screen protectors and was dubious about putting one on. I've been really pleased and would definitely re-apply if needed. No reason to so far ?

I’ve got the ESR Armorite screen protector - no issues with bubbles but I have had a tiny bit of the glass chip away from the base of it in the corner. Luckily it’s on the black border so it doesn’t bother me much.

Cheers guys - I'm going to re-order the ESR. Not sure why I got a bubble all of a sudden after a month of usage - and its a good 5mm or so away from the edge too!

Wait, don’t you have some in the pack from before? It comes with 3 right?
