What is annoying me is that non of the networks have revealed pricing yet for taking an Air on contract!..... surely must be soon........

I'm at university until 1pm... I'm then heading straight to covent garden Apple Store, I'll probably get there at about 2.15pm, so you think they'll still have stock?

I know no one can tell me for sure but I've never brought an iPad on launch day so don't know how strong demand is. If it's as big as iPhone then there won't be any. The alternative is to get it from the online store and wait.

Any thoughts on the best route?

Thanks!

Go to the Regent ST store.

You might have to queue for a few hours but i reckon they will still have loads.

Just shot them an email to see whats going on with my order.

No matter I don't see them being any slower or faster to arrive from asda compared to Tesco or even apple.

I followed your and a few others lead and ordered an iPad on the asda website before they shut it off again as well. I've also sent an email off to customer support, but let me know what you hear back so we can compare notes.

In any case, I wouldn't worry - I checked the order tracker online, and my order definitely 'exists' in the system. I'll take a little bit of anxiety over a 5am start in the cold and the rain any day!

yeah will do man as soon as they get back to me.

From Tesco Twitter:

"I've just spoken to Mel, our Duty Manager today, who is happy to start selling the iPad Air at midnight :)"

Link

well, good to have a confirmation. I assume all 24hour Tesco's will start selling at midnight?

i think Slough is the closes one to me, but I'll probably just order direct from Apple with AppleCare+.

Can anyone confirm midnight launch for Slough's Tesco?

I like the idea of that!

I just asked them over twitter. if they reply i'll let you know

Thanks, I called the store in Hayes (the big one) and they said they won't be as they haven't had to instruction from apple to do so, they seemed surprised that other stores were going ahead with it.

Anyone know if any of the Leicester Tesco's stores will be getting stock and if they will honour the £30 discount in store?

Can someone ask on Twitter please, as I am not registered with Twitter.

Thanks in advance.

Just rung up Asda direct (since the email might take a while) - they said that it should all be good; orders are usually dispatched in the afternoon, so wait until then before worrying. They also said that if there was something else going on, they'll give a refund, so hey-ho.

Yeah it said something about next day on orders before 4pm so I guess they go out around 4 or a bit after.

I don't think apple online orders will be starting at 12am in the UK. I based my conclusion on the 5S launch and Australia. They're 5S orders started at 12am AUS time which was roughly 2pm our time on the previous day. I just checked the AUS store and it's currently down. The time in Sydney is 1:50am so definitely no midnight orders. I think for the iPad Air they're only letting the US start at 12am and the rest of the world will start at 8am local time! So might aswell get an early night unless our local 24 hour tesco's decide to start selling them at 12.01am :)

I think I'm gonna go for the Air this time and go back up to the 10" but my mini is currently on eBay and I want to see how well that does before trumping for a new iPad. Hoping Apple store have more stock next week tbh :/

well if its down, then surely they should be on sale when it come back online?

will the store be down for 6 hours?

That is a possibility but it's unlikely they would put the store back up at 2-3am in the morning when most of the AUS customers would have gone to sleep with intention of ordering at 8am.
