Do they have a twitter account or anything? Or how do they usually announce this kind of info?

For the iPhone 5s launch a month ago, they sent out an email a week in advance saying when online orders would be going live. They haven't done this for the iPad Air, and the live chat people on the online store can't tell me anything.

I'm extremely tempted by the iPad Air, but I really did like the mini form factor and size.

I've decided that this time, I really am going to have to go into the store and have a play with them.

My biggest decision is going to be GB size, I planned to get the 128GB 4G, and stick with that for a few years, but as they haven't added the TouchID (which I now have got used to on the 5S) I'm not sure if I should buy a small capacity model and go all out next year when they'll add touch ID.

It's bloody annoying that Apple won't tell us when online orders are going live as they did with the 5s.

If they are going live at 12:01 then I'll stay up. But if I stay up til then and they don't go live I'll want to get an early train and get to my nearest Apple store. But if I've only gone to bed at midnight I'll only get a 5 hour sleep.

What difference does it make for Apple to just keep us informed? It was so much more civilised when we could pre-order and get our deliveries on release day.

Why has Apple gone backwards in this regard?

OR you could goto bed and get someone to call you to wake you up if it happens at midnight.

I wouldnt go that far JL were repairing/replacing something of mine for 8 weeks
And I was messed around something rotten.
They did sort me out in the end but took a unexceptable amount if time in doing so.
My tv needs looking at now and im just dreading going threw it all again

Ah sorry to hear that, I've had really good experiences with them and the turnaround time hasn't been too bat at all. For example my Samsung TV wouldn't power on, they sent an engineer (glad I didn't have to drag it to the store!), replaced the part but a month later it died again, replaced the same part again, this time the picture went B&W! I complained and as they didn't have that model I got an upgrade and size increase.

Make sure you log every part of the process and if its taking longer don't be afraid to complain in writing.

Other than that I have heard of positive reviews about their CS from colleagues and family.

That's interesting with Asda but do I trust them?

I mean there is no reason not to but I'd hate to be messed around by them...

And if stock is available that plentiful then maybe queue if outside apple isn't even required.

cheers for letting us know about ASDA, may have to order one now seeing as i could then get it tomorrow

No problem guys :)

I don't see why there should be any issues. Don't think they would be taking orders if they did not have the stock now and they should be just as fast to get them shipped as anyone else.

Well ASDA direct was working but when you try to add them to basket it doesn't seem to work any longer. I tried it before it doesn't now.

However they don't stock 4G models 64gb or 128gb so no good for me.

stopped working for me as well, literally working 10 mins ago, oh well. Maybe it went live to early anyway if so, well done to anyone who managed to order one and fingers crossed they turn up tomorrow

I'm at university until 1pm... I'm then heading straight to covent garden Apple Store, I'll probably get there at about 2.15pm, so you think they'll still have stock?

I know no one can tell me for sure but I've never brought an iPad on launch day so don't know how strong demand is. If it's as big as iPhone then there won't be any. The alternative is to get it from the online store and wait.

Any thoughts on the best route?

Thanks!

give apple a call before you go, they can check stock for you. Im guessing regent street and covent garden to sell out before any other stores.

ASDA have now taken the iPad Air off their website. Curious...

I dont trust these supermarkets at all..

Just shot them an email to see whats going on with my order.

No matter I don't see them being any slower or faster to arrive from asda compared to Tesco or even apple.
