Just ordered mine (16GB SG) from Tesco Direct. Saved a massive amount

Was gonna get a mini, but with the likely minuscule stock availability due to the low display yield issues...the decision was obvious.

Walked straight into the Apple Store Arndale, very few people queuing - got my iPad and 5S :D Would have got the Tesco deal if I was patient enough!

I kept checking tesco online all morning and finally was going to place an order. But I came back to here to check if people were getting any special deals from other places. Lucky I saw the special £30 voucher code! Now collecting my Ipad air 32gb tomorrow 4pm at my Tesco store.

Thanks to whoever posted that voucher!!!

Any joy with smart covers apart from at Apple stores?

Tesco had none, Stormfront official apple reseller only had black and pink :(

My apple online order has now gone to 'Preparing' for shipment', hopefully having my 128GB 4G iPad and 32Gb 5s delivered next week!

An expensive few weeks!!

WHAT.

Are the DSG execs just having a laff now? From now on I'm just not going to bother with anyone bar Tesco or John Lewis for big tech purchases.

Nothing about minimum spend on the website Ts and Cs. In fact it states that no change will be given if items are below voucher value.

Got mine with a Smart Cover from PC World. Opened it up and the back is covered in whitish smear marks that won't come off. Bit disappointed as it's the first time since my first iPhone 3G that I've ever had a quality issue.

Do UK shops take part in the "Black Friday" event in November.. What kind of reductions?

Just so people know, the 128GB White/Silver LTE model on apple.com/uk has now moved to 5-10 business days...so looks like they're starting to sell out of the initial stock.

Walked in to apple bullring shop in Birmingham. No queue and everything in stock, much easier than the iPhone launch.

I was there at eight and there was a largish queue but it moved promptly and I was out at half-past. I declined the free water and muffins being handed out.

The unboxing was a disappointment, however:

The pitting was worse than can be seen in these snaps. Check in store, folks.

kinda hard to tell on small images, but that looks bad… :/

hope mine arrives perfect.

Coming from an iPad 3, it's not WOW, but it's nice, it fixes the main issues I had with my 3, it's a lot nicer to use. More comfortable. And of course now my iPhone/iPad use the same connector which is nice.

Just picked mine up from Argos, still waiting for an update on my asda one though

What will you use to keep your hands warm now the iPad 3's gone :)

Go with the Tesco deal. I read that these PC World vouchers have a minimum spend. The £50 voucher has a minimum spend of £500....

The "Essential info" says:
£10 in store voucher on tablets under £100

£20 in store voucher on tablets £100 and over

£30 in store voucher on tablets £300 and over

£50 in store voucher on tablets £500 and over

Terms:

1 voucher per customer. Customers who purchase online will be emailed their voucher before 21/11/2013. Redeemable in store only from 21/11/2013 - 24/12/2013. Voucher excludes purchases of Gift Cards, iTunes vouchers and mobile top-ups. Only 1 coupon can be redeemed per transaction. No change will be given if the spend on redemption is below the value of the voucher. Offer ends 06/11/2013.
I've bolded the bit that I think suggests that minimum spend claim isn't true..

One thing I actually noticed from the display models in PC World was quite how hot they were on the back.... But then the Minis were too and I don't remember mine getting hot.

I just can't believe how much lighter it is than my iPad 3

I'm tempted by Currys reserve + collect.
We have a reward scheme at work, 8% off vouchers of £25 multiples.
So I could by £475 worth of vouchers for £437, plus £4 cash to make up to £479 (for wifi 32gb). They're instant vouchers too, so I just print off.
So would cost me £441 and I can collect in an hour... tempting!

Good idea. I had trouble buying online from Currys this morning but ended up reserving to collect tonight after work near Bank. Happy with the £50 voucher and will ask them to honour the ITAB5 code which I couldnt enter when reserving.
