Messed up big time today lol. Set alarm for 7:58, ordered a space grey 64gb wifi only at 8:01 just incase the apple stores had sold out. Thought I would take chance and pop into Apple at Bluewate.
Anyway to cut a long story short queued up and was told they had loads of stock, probably the most they have ever had on a launch day, thought oh great I will cancel my online order- went on the app to cancel and realised order status had changed to preparing for shipment (unable to cancel order)
So returned home, tired and without an ipad. To make things worse, my online order is showing Tuesday as delivery, and nobody will be home Tuesday to sign for it :(
First world problems hey! Oh well, I'll get it eventually and I'm lucky to be in a position where I can have one in the first place!

Why didnt you just pick one up from the store then when the online turns up take it back to the store for a refund?

Has anyone who ordered from Tesco had a proper order confirmation? I ordered (this morning) to collect from my local store, and it still says 'Partial Confirmation'. I looked this up and saw a rep on Facebook said his means the order has been received but the there hasn't been confirmation that there is stock.

Just logged into my Account at tesco.com and it still says 'Partially confirmed' against my order also.

Hopefully they will start getting them moving out of their warehouse later today so we'll get a proper confirmation later this evening.

To be honest I'm shocked we ALL forgot the time had gone back. We were all saying order would be at 8AM yet if we'd thought about it we'd have remembered it would be 7AM. I just happened to be up checking twitter at the time to see 9-5 Mac's tweet that the US and Europe stores had gone up! I've got Tuesday delivery too! 16GB Wifi in Space Grey!

Got my 64Gb Black from currys.
If people here are interested, I have 2 32Gb (black) reserved if Oxford (argos)
If nobody want them here, I will release them this evening...

Money was already showing as taken and not available in my bank account, so didn't want to risk X2 £559 payments coming out by tomorrow and not being able to pay my mortgage on Monday :)

Anyone heard off Currys whether they're honouring the price? I've been waiting all day as they said they'd be ringing but I've not heard anything since.

Just got a cancellation email saying item not available for home delivery.

It took them all day to come up with that?!

just called tesco's regarding this "partially confirmed" business, they are saying the order is confirmed and being dispatched for collection after 4pm in store and that they have had a massive overload on their systems so some status's are taking longer than usual to update

happy days

No, they're not. People (including myself) are getting emails saying they don't have stock, and are therefore canceling the order. Of course the money still shows as having been taken from my account, just to ensure they really p*ss off customers off as much as possible.

I didn't expect them to honour the price, however I did expect them to deal with it it in a better way than this, and not take over 7 hours to sort it. That's a perfect PR *****torm!

Just spoke to apple, he said that the online orders that were placed early will be coming from a warehouse in the UK and not direct from china. So although it's currently showing as Tuesday 5th as delivery it is still possible they could arrive on Monday 4th
I wonder if a Saturday delivery tomorrow is possible, or totally wishful thinking??

You expected better? After the phone call this morning they didn't sound like they knew their elbow from their arse.

Strange that I've not had an email to say as much  I'll ring first thing tomorrow if I've still not heard anything. I'd be fuming if it wasn't for the fact that I had an order at Argos as well that I picked up this morning.

Was gutted, got too 6th in the queue and remembered I need to cancel online order, only to discover status had changed to preparing for shipment and I could not cancel. Oh well!

I never imagined they'd be this bad though! I've had no phone call, just an email 7 hours later saying 'Sorry, we've cancelled your order due to no stock' - which is just a plain lie! My order still exists online, and the money has been taken from my account. As I said i didn't expect them to honour it, but I also didn't expect them to take this long to cancel it, and then just keep the hold on the money in my bank account!

Thankfully I was sensible enough to order from Apple as well (who don't mess people about), and I'll know in future to never trust Currys/PCWorld.

I've a reservation code for Argos, Bolton bridge street for a black iPad air 16gb wifi if anyone needs it. Runs out tomorrow. Don't need it now, work bought me one.

Well, after Argos, Currys, Tesco etc failed to change their websites at midnight I went to Apple store in Manchester Arndale.

Didn't get there until 7am, only 40 in queue. By 8am it was about 80/90.

Great atmosphere and I got my 64gb Silver 4G iPad. My mum was more excited as she got her first. I gave her my third gen :D

Here is the Manchester launch:

So after 20 minutes of being on hold, they finally tell me I need to contact my bank to sort the refund! So i phone my bank, they say they can't do anything, and i need to get currys to send a fax to the bank confirming it should no longer be held...now on the phone again to Currys!

Let this be a lesson to all of us, never EVER order anything from Currys/PCWorld.

Picked up a 64gb silver at apple in Reading. They had stock of all variations apart from the 128gb. This was at 3.45

Just to finish this off, Currys say 'they do not have the facility to fax' (i.e., they don't have a fax machine), so neither my bank or currys are able/willing to help, and I'm now out of pocket for up to 7 days.

I asked the Currys 'customer service' rep whether he thought this was acceptable (the initial mess, spending an hour on the phone to currys & the bank, and ultimately now being 265 pounds down for up to 7 days), and he said it was my own fault as I accepted the terms and conditions, so I have no right to complain!!

Wow, just...wow.

NO you can't use the code when reserving so I'm guessing delivery only

its cool and thank you, but i got mine from tesco with the £30 discount this was a backup i did beforehand. absolutely hate currys, never had a good experience where i always used Comet and did. shame

i would reserve through tesco and get it tomorrow after 4 and save £30

Some Stores are allowing it, the one I went to the manager manually entered the 5% code when asked.

So £28 odd off the 32Gb Cellular (+ the £50 Off Coupon for use later in the month) ended up costing me though as it was such a good deal the Mrs wanted one as well so ended up getting 2!!

you may be able to cancel by calling in to Apple

No, apple said that they could only offer refund once I return the ipad once it's delivered. Had finished processing and preparing to ship so no way of cancelling. Will remember this in the future, either to stick with an online order or not order online and just queue up to buy in store

Has anyone else hear anything from the Asda orders made yesterday? i got an email this morning saying my order had been dispatched, and checked the status an hour later, to see it had been changed to "delivery booked", but haven't had an email to say it has arrived or anything.
( I'm picking it up from a collect plus location).
