I would contact them, nearly happened to be too, ordered at 7am too was dispatched this morning at 3:18am (saw email in the morning) for Tuesday delivery.

Still waiting for dispatch here and recently got in touch with Apple. In short, I was told I will get my iPad on November 5th regardless of what status it's at now. I sure hope they can live up to that promise.

Well at least I'm not the only one whose hasn't been dispatched. I'll wait until tomorrow morning and if there's no movement I'll ring them. What model did you order those who're still waiting? Mine's grey 128GB wifi.

Ordered 16GB Wifi Space Grey. I used Apple's Live Chat to get in touch with them and was basically told not to worry about its current status and that I'll definitely get it on or before Tuesday 5th. If you do end up calling them, do keep me updated with what they tell you. Hoping for a dispatch tonight. It could be that there's different shipments going to different ends of the country and they're moving out at different times.

Has anyone who ordered direct from Apple moved from "Preparing for dispatch" today? I ordered at 7am on Friday and it has been stuck at this since Friday morning, kinda bugging cos I was in an Apple store that had the one I wanted, went to cancel my online order, but it could not be cancelled and that was at 11am on Friday.

My order status changed to dispatched at 6:00am but it's still showing as In Hinckley GB with estimated delivery date of tues 5th this eve, maybe they do not work weekends and it will be sat in the warehouse until Monday morning. Cutting it fine for Monday delivery which I was hoping for, as nobody is home Tuesday

How is it cutting it fine for Tuesday delivery? Many stores will let you order up until 5pm Monday for Tuesday delivery. We are only a small country!

Hadn't thought of it like that. Apple have promised me Tuesday delivery so I'm not really bothered, just eager for my iPad to ship!

In other news, the tracking for my Smart Cover (which is down for 7th delivery) says it's in Hinckley which is a 30 minute drive from me. Hoping for an on or before Tuesday delivery for my cover too!

I don't know how else to put this, so I can only assume you haven't read what I wrote, or don't understand what I'm saying.

I did not expect it to go through, I am not moaning it didn't go through, and I perfectly understand why it didn't go through. That's all fair and I have no right or expectation to get the item at that price.

What I do think is unfair is the fact I am out of pocket £265 for up to 7 days. I also think currys have handled their screw up (and however you spin it, the issue was caused by them) extremely badly. That's my opinion, and looking on twitter it's shared by others. You don't have to agree with it, however if you were out of pocket as well I suspect you would.

I don't know how else to put this, so I can only assume you haven't read what I wrote either, or don't understand what I am saying.

You took a chance by taking advantage of an obvious mistake which I would have likely done to if that was the model I was after. However after it all went all pear shaped I wouldn't have started moaning and whining like you and others have. This is no differently handled then any other similar situation in the past. If you expected an answer much sooner or expected the money to be refunded to you much quicker then that's not going to happen. You took a chance and have to pay the resulting consequences.

I can assure you if I was in the same situation as you I wouldn't be complaining like you. I have been in that situation before and I haven't complained as I know I took a chance on something that was likely too good to be true. The sooner you realise that and get over it the sooner we can move on.

Tesco are pretty good at most returns, as long as you have the item fully boxed back up and with the receipt they'll take it back (I returned a camera that way about 6 months ago).

Thanks for the reply - picked up the Air now and playing with it at home (still wrapped in plastic.... Call me paranoid)

Lovely iPad and vast improvement on my previous iPad 3 but still in dilemma over Air versus Retina mini - I can conceivably see this iPad leaving the house more regularly than my basically housebound sofa slouching iPad 3 which was really just saved for big trips rather than commutes but I'm just not sure how often and think a mini retina might get tucked in my coat pocket everyday and be worth the internet surfing/movie watching compromise for that mobility...

Just got dispatch notice! I think the way it works is orders furthest from Hinckley (their UK warehouse) are shipped first. Orders closest, in my case 13 miles away, are shipped last.

Really? Always had on supplied with my previous 3 iPads.

Although they are not the same alloy that comes with iPhone, more like a bent paper clip.

The iPad Air uses a Nano-Sim card whilst the iPad 4 uses a Micro-Sim card so you will need to cut the sim down if you want to use it in the iPad Air. There are quite a few guides and templates to help. Google is your friend here.

I got the sim tray tool with my iPhone 5s and so did a friend of mine. I ordered directly from Apple and she used her upgrade through O2.

Strange that Apple say they ship them with UK devices.

If you're referring to the iPad Air 3G then opps my bad.

I was going to say that I hope they don't move mine by a day but in reality I'm not really worried. I had to wait over a month for my iPhone 5s so I've developed patience.

Out of curiosity have you had any luck with UK Mail tracking? Someone mentioned on here that deliveries by Syncreon can be tracked using UK Mail.
