Thanks for the reply - picked up the Air now and playing with it at home (still wrapped in plastic.... Call me paranoid)

Lovely iPad and vast improvement on my previous iPad 3 but still in dilemma over Air versus Retina mini - I can conceivably see this iPad leaving the house more regularly than my basically housebound sofa slouching iPad 3 which was really just saved for big trips rather than commutes but I'm just not sure how often and think a mini retina might get tucked in my coat pocket everyday and be worth the internet surfing/movie watching compromise for that mobility...

Oh first world decisions decisions....

Let us know what you decide. I'm in the exact same boat. Air is still currently sealed in box and I'm thinking of selling it and waiting for mini retina. If that doesn't work for me then I can easily get another air.

Do Tesco get direct deliveries on a Sunday? My estimated arrival is supposed to be Monday but I wonder if it will arrive early...

Same here. Packed my Air up to go back and then remembered I'd forgotten to deauthorise an app I use, picked it up and now I'm all in a quandary again. The only issue with the Mini I currently have is not performance or screen quality but that the fonts on a lot of apps is just too small. And the Mini R won't solve this for me.

If you read reviews of the iPad 3, many talked about how you didn't have to zoom into pages to read paragraphs because the sharper text was much more legible. I suspect we will see similar with the mini retina. Fonts will obviously be smaller but I'm hoping the sharper text will be easier to read.

I bought my Air on launch day, but still undecided if I should keep it. I have a mini and was going to wait for the new mini. Anyone know when the Christmas return period starts/ends? My receipt says return by 15/11 but I've also read that it's now the extended Christmas return period????

Wouldn't that depend on where you bought it?

Does anyone know if you can return a product bought from Apple online to a retail store? Just in case I decide to jump ship to the mini...

In the Apple store

Website still indicates 14 days. I wouldn't rely on any other info you've seen (and Christmas returns usually only refer to purchases in December, I haven't seen anything to say otherwise in my local Apple Store).

Does you receipt have anything printed on it about returns?

7.1 Right to withdraw from the contract. If you are not satisfied with any Product or the terms of any entitlement to Services you have purchased from us, you may return the Product to us or cancel the entitlement to Services and obtain a refund of the price of the returned Product or Service entitlement if you contact us within 14 Calendar Days of delivery of the Product or entering into the contract for the purchase of Services.

You should get a predicted delivery date next.

Mine has this which I think means it was planned for the 4th and moved to the 5th.

5th November 2013 @ 18:00:00 HINCKLEY GB ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE

4th November 2013 @ 18:00:00 HINCKLEY GB ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE

1st November 2013 @ 21:58:56 HINCKLEY GB SHIPMENT PICKUP, NORMAL STATUS

I believe this means 4th - obsessive as most of us are, I was checking my equivalent of this page every 30 seconds, and my estimated delivery of the 5th came up first, then a few hours later, the 4th was inserted in the middle.

I believe they are (jankily) misusing the timestamp column as information, so the est. date could now be changed to the 3rd, for example, and it would still show 5th at the top of the list.

So because mine showed 5th first, then had 4th added, I consider that to be the most recent bit of information and the current estimated delivery date.

Lol I KNOW it seems obvious :)

But there's stuff going round that the extended Christmas return policy kicked in 1/11.

Where did you see it?

There's normally notification in store and on the site when they extend it, the site hasn't got any reference to it, and I didn't notice anything in my local store on Friday.

I'm having a problem with my tesco click and correct, but I went to the store toda they said did they do get deliveries on sundays.

Got a good feeling that my iPad might turn up tomorrow instead of Tuesday. The warehouse is 13 miles away from me and my 5s came a day earlier than quoted too. Also hoping my cover delivers on the same day!

No, you will have to return it via post to receive a refund (you have to request a return with a reason I believe) they will then arrange refund once received and checked. I had to do this with an iphone, remember it taking just over 7 days for refund

No you can't. You would have to call Apple customer service and they would arrange for a courier to come and pick it up. When you call them they will give you an RMA ( return merchandise authorisation ) number which you have to write on the packaging.

No way, Jose!

Thanks everyone! I'm going to the apple store anyway to collect my MacBook from its repair so I thought it worth asking. The thing hasn't even arrived yet - chances are I'll fall in love with it and not want to return it anyway.

I was going to say that I hope they don't move mine by a day but in reality I'm not really worried. I had to wait over a month for my iPhone 5s so I've developed patience.

Out of curiosity have you had any luck with UK Mail tracking? Someone mentioned on here that deliveries by Syncreon can be tracked using UK Mail.

No I haven't.
I actually got a new ipod a couple of weeks ago which came with the same courier. They were pretty accurate on where the package was. I can't remember the exact wording they had on the day it was delivered but the day it changed to something along the lines of 'with courier' it was delivered.

4th or 5th doesn't make any difference to me as I'm currently 200 miles from where it's going to :) As long as it arrives on one or the other I'll be happy :D The Apple site estimates the 4th.

I've never had any dealings with Syncreon so it's good to hear they aren't a Yodel type outfit.

Bought my Air yesterday, after the initial excitement of the size/weight, I have now decided to ditch it and go back to my mini, until the mini retina is available.

It's still too big/heavy in comparison to the mini, portability and extended one-handed use at work is a major issue for me and the air doesn't cut it...

Damn shame I can't just return it to Currys, but their returns policy sucks ass, so i've listed it for £395 with RMSD and the £30 Currys voucher, taking a small hit, but thats that!
