All iPads UK iPad Air & iPad mini with Retina Thread

Could you reserve one for pickup at the Apple Store by calling the store directly? I work 10 minutes away from an Apple Store, I was thinking of just picking one up instead of an online order and waiting for delivery.
 
Is Tesco likely to accept click and collect orders from Friday with collection on Saturday?

How do you know this doesn't include the new one? The conditions for the code say "with any ipad or tablet". There's no exception for the new one.
 
Can anyone tell me the rush to have it on the 1st? Personally won't be able to stand in line, doubt I would if i could, so i'll order online and let Apple deliver to me when they're ready.
Am I missing something not having it on Friday? most probably Monday> Please enlighten me if one can, Cheers

Usually if supply is constrained then it will sell out on day one and then there will be a wait for a week or two as more stock comes along.
 
Will Tesco's £30 off any ipad or tablet over £300 code work on the ipad air since it is on the ipad air page?

We'll soon find out but I'm hoping it does. The current models already have a discount prior to applying this code so I doubt the code is just for the current models but you never know with these voucher codes.

Where does it say I said the iPad Air is not included?

You are just assuming, the post is referring to the one above me enquiring about getting a iPad 4.
 
Can't decide between 16gb iPad Air or 32gb iPad Mini.

I like the idea of getting the mini but I don't know if it will be big enough. I got the 7" nexus 7 but I'm returning it as it's too small and I don't really like android. I know the mini has bigger screen and possibly better form factor, which may mean it's ok for me. I've held a display model but it's hard to know without actually using it for a while at home.

I've just been into my local Argos store & the manager kindly confirmed that they will have some stock of iPad Air available on Friday but initially only 32Gb. I didn't press him on stock numbers or colour & he did say that as it's only Wednesday, his delivery manifest might change to include other models prior to Friday. He wasn't sure if click & collect would be available.
 
Thinking at the moment I'll go down and see what's going on at my local store on the 1st, see if I can get myself a 16Gb Air. I only use it for web browsing/displaying work and my 16Gb 3 has never been full so no need to upgrade.
 
Asked my local Tesco's today if they were expecting stock in on Friday.
The sales assistant didn't even know what an air was!!
They then preceded to look up the air on the website only to tell me they didn't have any!!!
When I told her it didn't come out till friday she said thats why they didn't have any! I would have been better checking the website myself!
Ill go back in tomorrow and see if I can speak to someone more knowledgable.

Make sure you speak to someone in the fruit & veg department when enquiring about Apples in Tesco ;)
 
So what is the general consensus? Where is everybody ordering theirs from? Wheres the best deal? Who is releasing online at midnight?
 
I'm probably going to go direct from apple, probably the safest bet on availability if you get in early.
