Yeah in typical Apple form we will likely only see 120Hz refresh rate in the Pro models if it does happen. I was reading Samsung is the likely supplier of the circuit boards for the 120Hz OLED screens.
Apple will then presumably stick with 60Hz refresh rates on its 13 and 13 mini OLED screens.
Always On Display would be a good call, especially if Apple executes it well plus I’m interested in discovering the real benefits of those two larger cameras on the Pro.
The Matte black colour has piqued my interest, especially if it has the same feel of the Pixel 5 which was great to hold. That black colour is meant to be a lot darker than Graphite and Space Grey with HEX color code 121212. Although I would have preferred Jet matte black as a nod to the iPhone 7!
‘Sunset Gold’ has the makings of this years halo colour.
Yep I think we can be sure 120hz, if its really coming, it’ll be a Pro exclusive, following reviews/critique with the 12 series that there was barely enough to differentiate the Pros and the higher price point that came with them. It would align with the iPads, in which the Pros feature 120hz displays, everything else is 60hz. Back in the 11 Pro’s day, the OLED display, with its richer colours and higher PPI, as well as the telephoto lens which I use a lot in day to day photography, much more than the ultra wide, for me was enough to justify the difference in price over the standard 11. If, however, I were buying new for the 12 series, one out of two of those Pro features I mentioned (OLED) got ported over to the standard 12.… Meanwhile, the 12 Pro’s other new exclusive feature this time was the LIDAR scanner, which if my experience with it on the iPad Pro 2020 is anything to go by, for me, its completely useless (sorry), I’d find myself having a harder time justifying the Pro, but the telephoto would’ve probably gotten me there.
A throwback to the iPhone 7’s day is very nostalgic, yep, they had two blacks that year, Matte and Jet. Jet Black was so unique and glossy - you could almost call it iPhone Edition for how unique it actually was, it was to the touch a different material altogether. Definitely gave me some Star Wars Darth Vader vibes almost! The Matte Black iPhone 7 meanwhile reminds me more of the Space Black Titanium Apple Watch, which is also a very sleek and stealthy look. I’m coming from a Space Grey 11 Pro, so depending on other colours announced, probably looking for a change this time around.
If Sunset Gold is a nice dark-orangey-brown colour I think it could look nice, lets wait and see whats announced
