I went into my local PC world and it looked half empty. They have spread everything around to fill up the space. spent about 5 mins and walked out

PC World no longer sell anything Currys don't. So without the white goods, and with the stores similar in size to Currys, theres a lot of spare space!

Hi everybody,

I managed to order 2 iPhone 6 Plus (64 GB SG) for launch day, and I only need one, so I'm thinking of selling the other one.
One is being shipped to my home so I don't know what time I'll get it, the second one is reserved in the Regent St store and will pick it up between 8 and 9 am. (Yes, I wanted to be sure I would get one, specially with the unreliable pre order system!! ;) )

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where I could put it up for sale.
I haven't posted enough here to have access to the marketplace. I don't really want to use eBay as I would have to sell it much more expensive to cover for the commission fee (I’ve been keeping an eye on some auctions and a few have gone for over £1,100!!) and I tried Gumtree but they deleted my ad because apparently it's against their rules to sell a product that hasn't been released. (Weird…) and ideally I would prefer not to ship it and have it collected in London.

I would ideally like to make a bit of money out of it, one because my new phone is quite expensive ;) and 2, because I would actually have to go to the Apple Store to get the other phone and meet with the buyer.

Any ideas?
Thanks

So you took a phone you didnt want and that someone else wanted (and now cant have) and you didnt have a solid business plan on how to flip it

To be fair, they have been done over by the networks and had to cease trading. They have not actually done anything wrong, they simply don't have a product to sell as the networks want to take it all in-house and not use third parties.

CPW will be next.

What I don't understand is that EE have given them a years advance notice (contract doesn't expire until September 2015) so the company must have already being in a mess for them to now go into administration.

Sell it to someone here for cost price + postage.

No, they are making £100m a year. But with Vodafone & EE pulling their pants down I guess if you know your business is going to collapse next year you do something about it now while you still have money. I am not a business owner so I don't know how it works, but it would seem very bad management to keep trading knowing that your business is essentially dead.

And there was me hoping to find at the bottom a note saying if someone wants it they can have it at normal price.

I did this with a ps4 I decided not to keep. Sold It on another forum for the price I paid to someone who waned one for their friend who's recently been disabled and was house bound mainly. Made me feel all warm and nice inside! And I could of made a lot of money

Why would you post on this thread about trying to make a mark up is beyond me, subtle advertisement maybe?

Anyway good luck.

I don't think he wants to sell it for same price and add the post cost also, more like charge the person with a more money than original price.

I know what he wants to do, I still gave the morally correct advice to give someone who asks such a question on this forum ;)

If he can't work out how to sell a phone then that's his problem.

Sorry, but such people have no moral, let alone they want to correct it. if they did, they wouldn't say anything about it or they'll put a note in the end *selling for the same price* or something.

Just spoke with Apple and asked them as to when will the status of my order change from 'Preparing for Dispatch' to 'Dispatched or shipped'. They got no clue and it will probably change after it is shipped or dispatched which means Wed or Thur.

Plus they say I have to be home myself for delivery, my family members cant sign on my behalf plus they are not sure on shipping company also whether it will be UPS or or Royal mail for me in London.

I will have to work from home on Friday the 19th I think.

Can anyone let me know if my family member can sign for me and take the phone? I am in no hurry and can use the phone when I am back in the evening from office.

Pretty sure your family member can sign for it. I am going to get my brother to sign for mine when it is delivered.

You're gonna get no help here mate. Loads of people on here gutted they missed out on the 19th delivery date and you're asking where to flog a second one you don't need?

Good for you if you want to sell it - go ahead. Just comes off as distasteful writing that sort of comment on an enthusiasts forum.

Sorry, it wasn't my intention at all, on the contrary. If all I wanted was to make money I would put it on eBay and that's it. I thought it would give some people here a chance to maybe direct me to a place where they could get it from me. But if that's how it's perceived, I'll just get rid of my post.

It's either UPS or UK Mail, Apple doesn't do royal mail.
And I don't think UPS will refused to hand over the goods, all they want is someone to be in the house to sign for it.

Personally if you didn't want to make money on it, why not arrange with someone on here local to you, sure someone will travel a reasonable distance to meet up and buy it for rrp?

Others have arranged in the thread to meet up and get reservations etc

Just Cancel the online order and then you won't have to worry about selling one and just pick up your confirmed order at the store. Simple!

So you took a phone you didnt want and that someone else wanted (and now cant have) and you didnt have a solid business plan on how to flip it

I don't have a business plan, cause it was never the plan to end up with 2. But I've had it in the past that I've ordered my phone but when getting the confirmation email it's not shipped for launch day. (many people wrote about that on this thread actually) so that's why I got 2.
But as it seems that my post seems to be perceived as offensive when it wasn't my intention at all, it was more about giving the chance to someone here to get in on launch day, I'll just remove my post and cancel one of the iPhones.

UPS are a joke to deal with... When i tried to call them it was just all automated when i needed to speak to someone. I ended up having to phone someone in Germany and even then when i specifically asked them to leave it with someone they refused.

If you're in they're great! They always deliver on time, but if not then... Ugh, good luck.

Honestly. Pull a sick day, take the day off, work from home... Hell, chain your grandmother to the front door and tell her she isn't allowed to move all day.

UPS always deliver after 5pm here, so I've got to wait the whole day! And I live on a farm so we've got 3 different driveways... they always come to a different one! I have to leave signs about saying 'somebody IS about, please sound horn!" lol

I'm assuming you're just on the troll after posting this shortly after mine???

If not, then it's up to you to do what you want with the spare phone.

However, as others have already said, I doubt you will get good advice from us considering we are the ones you are holding up with getting the iphone 6.

You may get lucky by selling it on eBay, for an over inflated price.

You more than likely will get scammed though doing it that way.

You can't con an honest john as the saying goes.

My advice would be to just cancel the order and be grateful you will be one of the first to get theirs

But, it's up to you what you do.

You are the reason most people wait. Buy 2 and only need 1 so you sell the other at a profit.

Hope launch day stock goes through the roof and your left with a loss for being such a ****.

Sell it to someone here for cost price + postage.

After the different replies on here, I think I'll just cancel one. Sorry if it was seen disrespectful to write that post (been edited now!) Thanks

I edited my post, and explain why I was asking for a bit more than normal price. And how people just assume I wanted to sell it for much more. Sorry if this offended you or anyone. I probably wasn't clear and got some people annoyed.
