Has anyone pre-ordered from a Carphone Warehouse store before to pick up on the day? I meant to ask if they notify you when it's ready to pick up or you just go in on the day and get it.

I've gone for delivery from CPW. So not too sure what it will be like for pickup. I've had my order confirmed, money taken but nothing since. If it's anything like last year I'll be ******. They text at 4PM on release day to say it will be further delayed by 2 weeks. Let's wait and see....

You joke but I really want a bigger screen than the plus. Think it would be amazing. Maybe not 7" but 6". For some reason I think the 7 will probably lose the home button. Would be interesting
:) the 7 is the phone I'm really waiting for. A year with the 6s+ after a year with the 6 will help me decide for sure what size screen works for me. A 5.5" in a slimmer profile works for me.

Some people are saying they haven't left China yet, some are saying they are already in UK Warehouses... What are we supposed to believe?
The people in this forum know as much about apples current logistic plans as their geniuses. All guess work here but it keeps us on our toes

my son wants to be there when I unbox the new iPhone, so I have to wait until he gets home from school, about 3.30pm. He's my Mac buddy. What can I say?

Haha, I like it

I always love that moment when you tug the upper lid of the box from the bottom, there's a slight pop sound as the lid leaves the base, and then you're greeted by the treasure within. Same goes for MacBooks, MacMinis etc, the closest thing I experience in adulthood to that Xmas day feeling when you're a kid :)

Assuming my phone ships via UPS, what is the procedure for them to hold the parcel at their distribution centre?

Apparently there is a big 747 jumbo jet with our iPhones on it, on its way to Cologne as we speak for European iPhones, then its heading over to the USA.
Truth is no one knows and it's all speculation. It's what makes this forum a great place for panic and paranoia.

Based on past launches the phones are either in the uk or on way to Hinkley. They'll get distributed to couriers and we'll see tracking from that point. So likely Thursday.

That's if they don't ship direct from China

To be honest this year there doesn't seem to be much fear of not getting the new phone on release day. Or maybe that is cause i'm not scared about not getting it. To add a bit of excitement I really hope it does come from China tomorrow so I can read everybodies posts about it. I enjoy other peoples excitement. Its a bit anticlimactic when it turns thursday and we find out the phones are in Hinkley.

Ye I heard about the plane. Not sure how people knew about this and the logic around it. Not sure how many phones can fit on one plane (i am guessing thousands) but would say Cologne would be the HUB for all European distribution.

Sadly I don't think the UPS tracking would work for me anyway as UK mail seems to be the preferred choice around me.

Not exactly true - the US orders in some cases can start tracking their packages already. Waiting on more order information to be able to do the same for UK orders

Pretty sure that's always been the case states side. U.K. Launch phones seem to come from uk stock. I had a 6+ ordered just outside the initial launch window last year (6-9 days) and that came from China though

A screensize around 5.1 inch and 1080p and better battery life would probably be enough to make me sell the 6s for the 7 next year.

I think I am in for the yearly update. At least while this forum is still going. Wasn't going to get the new one until I started reading the posts lol. Be interesting to see what Apple does with the screen sizes next year haven't kept the same screen size for more than 2 years since the original iPhone. I genuinely don't care about the screen resolution. 1080p is fine with me. Prefer better battery life.

Anybody remember the guy who said he'll get his delivery man friend to get his iPhone 6S early from his local depot? Lol I wonder where he's at

Did a live chat with an Apple advisor earlier. My Silver 128GB 6S+ has been at preparing to Ship for about 5 days now and I was just curious what courier Apple may use. They told me that no courier had been assigned to me yet but they use UPS Mail UK and TNT. This feels like it is getting a bit late in the day now to not even assign couriers.

Apple doesn't assign couriers directly at least to pre-orders. They use a centralised logistics company called Syncreon who then allocate the individual orders to various couriers usually UPS and UK Mail. You won't see which courier is delivering your phone until probably Thursday.

He said he was going to get him to open the shipping box, take the iPhone out and get it to him, but leave the shipping box at the depot for scanning on Friday lol

Wasn't that in exchange for a coffee? Or am i thinking of somebody else?

So just a couple of questions. Who so far has been charged, is it the ones who ordered off of the apple store, and also how many people who ordered the 128gb 6s plus space grey have had any movement yet. Thanks!
